Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Been to Saigon a couple of times and didn't know what to expect here, but had heard it was good so made the trip from the Redlands to give it a go. At first we thought it was closed, but no, it was open, just...had to walk about a little alley to find the door. SOOO - I thought the menu wasn't quite what I would see in Vietnam (more meat dishes on their own perhaps over there) - they didnt have Banh Xeo (Vietnamese pancakes and my favourite) or Banh Mi. Vietnamese staples! We ordered a Chicken and Lemongrass meal & also a Pork Chop with Broken Rice. Got to say ALL the flavours of Vietnam were there. The pork chops...wow. You could tase they were done over an open charcoal grill. Very very good. Only other thing we had was the spring rolls...these were as good as I've had anywhere. Would have liked to try more but this all hit the spot! Authentic...yep. Worth a trip...yep.More

This place has good food! It was very busy at lunch time - a good sign. We tried the Phnom Penh noodles and the combination plate with rice. Both were tasty. Would come back to try more things. The only thing I would change is...to ask for less sugar in the drinks (which is possible) - I had the jack fruit smoothie which was too sweet.More

I love this place! One of my all time faves for vietnamese. We've eaten here at least 10 times. Love, love, love the rice paper rolls with grilled pork and the crispy chicken with dry noodle. Cheap, cheap, cheap. Always busy and always fresh. Try...it - you won't be disappointed.More

Go here at least once a fortnight. All of their meals are generous and of good quality but I particularly like the combination vermicelli salad. It has a couple of spring rolls, some grilled pork and a bit of chicken together with very fresh salad.

My 9 year old granddaughter could choose any place for her birthday dinner but chose this one. This is not a fancy looking restaurant but is always busy. For entree we ordered spring rolls which had just the right amount of crunch. We generally get...the pork diy rice paper rolls because it is such a novelty for the grandchildren. They love to roll their rolls and choose their ingredients. The soups are definitely a popular dish for the locals. Our meals were great which is why we keep coming back. The kids love the milos.More

I needed a Pho fix and boy these guys deliver. Their drinks are also amazing. I had the standard pho with beef and a passionfruit soda lemon drink. Both were delicious. I am keen to try their other dishes but that soup is really hard...to walk past!More

The food was just okay. Could have been less in quantity but better in quality and taste. Most of the staff are not friendly and not very welcoming. EFTPOS not accepted, cash only.

Took friends to Inala for a bit of shopping and to sample some Vietnamese food. My friend has recently returned from Hanoi and hasn’t been able to take his mind off soup 😄 Tan Thanh didn’t disappoint. We slurped our way through a couple of...different bowls and were completely satisfied. It’s hard to get authentic Vietnamese in Brisbane, but this restaurant does a near perfect job. Those who travel will realise that some of the best places to eat don’t always look neat and tidy.More

It might be nearly two decades when I visited this restaurant. I remember how it’s tight, dark (not enough light), untidy, etc. Now, it looks modern, more tables, gotten bigger floor size, etc. The Pho still taste good, the amount of noodles was less, the...beef broth still tasty. The meat wasn’t tender as it’s used to be. The mung beans were lesser. Our female wait staff not so friendly though. That’s why I given 3 star.More

The place is quite dirty, definitely needs a good clean. It’s get your own water set up, we passed on the water, to many hands on the tap, a hygiene nightmare. Place is super noisy, very hard to have a conversation. The food is cheap...and can be hit and miss, not the best Vietnamese food in Brisbane, so would advise looking elsewhere. The service is not the best as well, waiters can hardly speak English so it’s the old pointing at menu along with saying the number of the dish. The guy behind the counter barely acknowledged me took my money without looking at me or a word spoken and slapped the change on the counter. Another place to scratch off the list without any reluctance. This place isn’t a pleasant experience more one to persevere with no reward.More

The beef noodle is very nicely cooked. One bowl, I cannot even finished, seems like an endless pit bowl. It was delicious and well done.

I honestly believe this is the best Vietnamese in Brisbane. Worth the travel to get a pho. I visit Tan Thanh pretty frequently in the past and have been twice in the last7 days. I normally order the pho, but have been for the vermicelli...salads and the egg noodles, all pictured. The pho is exceptional. Not too oily, flavourful and you have the option to your own hot sauce and hoisen. The staff are very efficient.More
