Enjoyed my birthday lunch here recently and it was a very pleasant experience. The location right on the river, is hard to top. I ordered the paella for 2 to share and it was very tasty, with lovely big pieces of fresh fish all through...it.All the other meals looked good too. The staff were very friendly, a couple were from Columbia and were lovely. My only complaint would be that the meals took quite a long time to come out. It is such a lovely setting though to while away the time, that we didn t mind too much.More

Very disappointed with Barramundi which was more like a piece of sponge and potatoes not cooked , and salad(?) old and weak.

Being new to Brisbane I love trying new places and reading reviews and going on adventures. However this is one adventure that was so bad I had to review it. From the extremely slow service to inedible food - this place is a complete disaster....There are so many great restaurants in Brisbane I would avoid this at all costs. McDonalds is a better option.More

Ordered a frappe that wasnt really a frappe just a coffee milkshake 😔 acai bowls were a hit with the kid. Be careful of the wobbly tables we almost wore our frappes when we lent on the table & looking at the cardboard propping it...up its been like that for a while.More

Did the take-aways with bottle of wine on the green Sun arve. Ordered at their reception. Wine prices out of date on website and on their menu. Given a busser for food, busser went - wrong food, they took busser but left me standing not...knowing what was happening, stood at reception waiting, eventually got attention, 10 mins later still standing and still no wine or food, so again asked girl who then obtained the wine with plastic cups (ok understand safety issue on Green), no ice bucket as requested, received ice bucket, eventually received fish tacos which were very good. Manager/owner? explained recently taken over and behind in updating everything - poor excuse. Young staff over-whelmed. They were very busy which is good for them, food was good, and good wine but a bit heavy on the final price of $50 bottle ($40 on net & $45 on menu.)so will give them another chance.More

Ordered the seafood paella for two - as I recalled my visit a year back, it was tasty. This time round we also ordered the fried white bait as entree. First, compliments to the waiter whose service is impeccable - served with a smile, prompt...to respond, polite and always keeping busy with ensuring all guests are satisfied. Haven't seen this level of service in a long long time. We requested for an alfresco seating, that was reserved for us. The table location itself was perfect, with an unblocked view of the river and the lawns. This location is perfect for romantic dates - as I see a few (young) couples dining here, clearing enjoying the ambience. The fried white bait, as an entree, came within a reasonable time. It was well presented (alas forgot to take a photo) but the chef was heavy handed with salt. We felt that the salt level was 2-3 times more than what it should have been - but again not sure whether it was MSG or salt; as we felt incredibly thirsty later in the night. The seafood paella was faultless. Seafood was perfectly cooked, though no bay bugs as another Tripadvisor had claimed. Ours was filled with shrimps, mussels, prawns, calamari and two large servings of what tasted like snapper. The rice was al dente and had a good level of seafood broth taste with each bite - even though there were pieces clumped together like a chunk - which we overlooked simply based on taste. For $50 and the size of the paella (there was some leftover that we could not finish), it was vey reasonable; if I were to compare with the paella served at the Upper Deck in Bulimba. Pete and I had the most wonderful experience at River Quay Fish restaurant last Friday evening, while enjoying the Brisbane Festival Sunsuper Laser Light Show and entertained by the Big Brass Band on the Green (on the river across from the restaurant). We were given...the perfect table under a warm heater and served by the lovely waitress Grace and waiter Javier Moreno, who were impeccable with their service to us. The wine was first class, the seafood SO fresh and the staff could not have been friendlier. Thank you again River Quay Fish for a perfect evening. Well done to all of you!More
