At first we thought twice as the place was so tiny and unassuming. But we gave Mamaku a go and weren't disappointed with our meals - not one bit! We opted for vegetarian spring rolls for starters, and were served five hot and crispy filling...laden rolls. Our mains followed and hubby chose a combination laksa and I had the signature beef rendang with roti and rice. All our meals were delicious. Cold water was refilled often - just as well to soothe our palate. People were coming in for takeaways as well as sitting down for a quick lunch. We would have tried one of their traditional sweets but were too full. Worth a visit.More

There are very few Indonesian restaurants in the north of Brisbane so we were really happy to find this place. Four of us had dinner there and were really impressed with the authentic cuisine (I worked in Indonesia so I know it well). We tried...sop wonton and tempeh goreng for starters, and for mains satay ayam, rendang sapi and gado lontong, followed by dessert of sticky black rice. All was cooked perfectly with lots of attention to getting it right (for some dishes we had to wait a bit, but it was worth it). And for drinks we tried the home made ginger beer - try it for something different! The host was really friendly and did magic tricks to entertain the kids on the next table. Its not a big place, but definitely the real deal. We will be back, for sure. Terima kasih, guys!More

We live on the peninsula an unfortunately we are very limited in culinary options. We often branch out to try an find delightful, fresh and authentic cuisine. We used google and found this Indo Restaurant at Clayfield and couldn't believe our good fortune. We have...enjoyed fantastic Indo food across Australia and Indonesia. This little place on Sandgate Road is up there with the best of them. The menu is descriptive and provides many options. We feasted on several different entrees enjoying the Chicken WIng's which where fresh tasty and certainly cooked to perfection, the Ayam Satay sticks and the satay sauce was excellent, and the Bakso Prawn & Pork Dumpling Soup was prepared with care and fresh. The list goes on, we shared the Beef Rendang with Sweet potato as a main with hand made ROTI, the beef was braised to the point it was falling apart on the fork, the slivers of sweet potato enhanced the flavour's and the Rendang sauce was obviously cooked and made in house. Will and his family who prepare the food and operate this little place of joy need to be congratulated. They are inviting and friendly which is reflected in their food and welcoming greeting.More

This is a little treasure tiny but perfectly formed. I rang and placed my order for combination laksa and very happy with the size, the flavour and the presentation of this fabulous soup. I could choose the type of noodles, the level of heat and...if I wanted extra chilli. The restaurant is small with only a handful of tables but on A Sunday lunch they were all taken by happy diners. I will be back to try the duck soup and the spring rolls.More

Eat here, you won’t be sorry, book in advance though as it’s a very small suburban restaurant. Mum cooks, Dad serves, friendly atmosphere and delicious Indonesian food!

After reading the great reviews, I thought I better check this place out. Ordered the chicken satays. Disappointed, flat and unappealing flavour, lacked the bbq flavour you would expect, with a few slices of limp cucumber slices. Then the beef rendang arrived. It have the...flavour of liver pate!! I could not recognise the coconut, lemongrass or galangal flavours that I would expect. After this our drinks finally turned up....Then that was lunch...ho hum.More

Really enjoyed today’s meal our hosts Willie and Mie Mie gave my grandson crayons and paper to play with while we waited for our food to arrive. The food way above expectations undoubtedly the best Indonesian food in Brisbane.
