Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were gifted the King Crab American Boil for 2 people with a glass of beer each as a Christmas present. The crabs were pretty tasteless, and it was such an effort to get any meat out of the legs and claws, prawns weren't fresh...and their skins were soft and soggy and the whole platter arrived swimming in a pool of garlic butter so it was super greasy and actually made me feel squeamish, even the baguette was horrible. My husband said that the glass of beer was the best part of the whole deal. Can't fault the service as it was prompt and courteous, only one server but only one other table was occupied. We were starving when we left so we had to pick up take away on the way back home. We definitely won't be going back.More

We were gifted a Groupon deal for King Crab American Boil for 2 people with a glass of beer each as a Christmas present. A bit underwhelming - the deal says $180 meal for $120, this is misleading. The menu states the price is $149...and the glass of beer was $7 each. $163 in reality. No way is the meal worth this cost. Seafood overcooked and quite dry. A real effort to get the small amount of meat out of the many crab legs on the plate. No Morten Bay Bugs on our plate. The beer was a bit flat and watery for my liking. Service was ok, a bit slow to start, only one person serving. The thing that irritates me the most with these deals, is you don't get the real value, which is wrong. I saw another table with the same platter we had, but it was very obvious they didn't have a groupon voucher. Their platter was way more substantial looking. $120 is alot of money to spend on a meal, and it should be a true representation of what the business offers, if they want returning customers. We won't return.More

We had a large share plate crabs, prawns, mussels and pieces of sausage. I am a good cook and know my seafood as I frequently shop fresh at fish markets. It was obvious that everything had previously been frozen and thawed out. The Alaskan king...crab legs come frozen from overseas. Fair enough. I’ve had them at restaurants before and they can still be good. The legs presented to us were impossible to crack open or tear apart. They were tough and soft and bent over like a piece of rope. Probably had been frozen for too long. Nothing smelled or tasted fresh. Even the prawns were limp and soft. There is no way we would go back.More

The food was amazing. We had the seafood chowder and soft shell crab. The waiter was absolutely friendly and kind. Even held open the door for our wheelie walker. We will be back for more. Thank you

Food wasnt great. The chowder was not very thick and had more potatoes than seafood in it. The calamari had stringy bits in it. The portion of eggplant Brooklyn stack was very small and tasted a bit scorched. No sparkling wine per glass. Disappointing.

This was our third visit within a month, we love the food that much. The king crab in Baltimore sauce was amazing, although pricey. Our only negative was the service was way below expectations, on all three occasions. Hopefully a good mentor and training will...help.More

Don’t even think about going here. No service. You have to go to bar for a drink and help yourself to a menu. Staff are too busy having group chats to even bother to walk around to do their job. Make sure you get double...drinks at bar because you will run out before they come ask if you want one. The steak was the toughest leather I’ve ever had the misfortune of eating. In summary 4 meals and 6 drinks cost $248. And that was self serve. Slap yourself real hard twice in the face if you even consider going to this hole. Never ever againMore

We redeemed a Groupon Voucher for a meal for 2 (American Boil) with 2 drinks. Staff were friendly and confirmed what we had ordered and bought it out pretty much straight away on one platter. While all the advertised items were there, they were all...small and over cooked (recooked). eg the half bug each was the size of half a prawn. Everything had a garlic Baltimore sauce over it which was ok. Everything, even the spanner crab had been cooked so much the shells were soft. We were still hungry so got a few chicken wings as well. Wouldn't bother going back there.More

We redeemed a Groupon Voucher for a meal for 2 (American Boil) with 2 drinks. We paid $120 with the normal cost claimed to be $180. While the meal was nice, I am not sure it was worth more than the similar regular $125 Crab...Combos. They cater well for seafood mess with bibs and utensils and gloves provided. The staff were pleasant and friendly and welcoming. We would visit again.More

The manager is a nice bloke, but looked bored as hell on his mobile, given it was quite I guess probably not much to do as we did go in on a Monday night. The food is kinda hard to give feedback on, the corn...was soaked in water and had that a few days old taste. Whenever I go out to a venue I expect homemade everything for the prices venues charge nowadays, was a bit sad to see the chef using bottled mayo on the food, not a hard thing to make, but if you’re going to use bottle mayo at least do it where it’s not seen. Onion rings just standard bought in ones from lam western company, kinda lazy. Self raising flour, Soda water and a raw onion = easy onion rings that taste good. The crab was okay, snow crab from Chile apparently, overcooked of course precooked then recooked bit was like mush but at $55 per 500g acceptable. Wouldn’t go back, which is a shame as the idea is cool! I have no issue paying a ton of the foods good, at $222 I left feeling meh.More

I'll start by saying that it's a good think that the food was good. I tried to make a reservation for almost 2 weeks at this place. They have no online booking system on their website as it just kept asking me to "sign in"...but there's no way to make an account. I called them 6 times through different times of the day over a week and a half and no one answered. I messaged them on Facebook and finally was able to make a booking. However, when we showed up to our reservation they didn't have it. I showed them my confirmed message on facebook and the waitress said I should have called. When I told her the trouble she just said they were fixing the website. So, not a great start. They were thankfully able to seat us. They had a special going that we were told would comfortable feed 2 (3 types of crab, prawns, muscles etc) and it didn't disappoint, thank goodness! We chose the Baltimore sauce and it was amazing. Props to the chef who not only knows his sauces but serving the seafood with a toasted baguette to take advantage of those amazing juices at the bottom is genius! Their ever-changing special seems to be the best value but the service leaves something to be desired. I would also recommend getting a side or 2 to cut through the never-ending seafood. We opted for corn and parmesan truffle fries (my weakness). Would I go back? Yes, but I'm not looking forward to the booking process hahaMore

We enjoyed a leisurely Sunday lunch here last Sunday. We did the $120 facebook special platter that had king crab, mud crab, prawns, mussells, scallops and moreton bay bugs that heartily served 3. Price was fair, with our bill totalling $200, incorporating 1 x crab...platter, 1 x king crabcake entree, 1 side of truffle fries and 1 bottle of good chardonnay. This fed three of us and we walked away full, but just with enough room for hot chocolate across the street to finish. The bibs and mess are just another part of the fun! Good service.More
