Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have eaten in and had takeaway from Memories of India and been very happy every time. They don’t sell alcohol but it’s BYO & there’s a shop next door you can buy wine from. Super service, a wide ranging and interesting menu for us vegetarians and all very tasty, generously portioned and decent value. Parking right outside. A reliable Indian restaurant that we keep going back to.

The staff are friendly and accomodating as they went above and beyond to accomodate us. The food was tasty and slightly on the spicy side but nevertheless it was delicious. The decor was a bit outdated, but who cares it’s about the food. We will go again.

You have to hand it to the team that look after Memories of India, as they were the saving grace of our experience. They kept us well fed and put up with some last minute changes to the seating numbers as we had some people coming along.
The food came out in a weird order, we didn't get the bread until halfway through the main course. The dishes are just the right size to order a bit of everything to share with a family or a group of friends (I was with a group of 9 people).
I would go back again, however I've had better Indian food elsewhere.

Pathetic service. Did called in 30 min to reserve a table & was told to come in anytime before 10.
Arrived there 8.45pm & was told by the wait staff as a wait for 1 hour. Seriously, I don’t mind that had we been informed before leaving home.
The restaurant was half empty & dirty dishes lying on most tables. Waitress apologised & gave us a table, ordered the food & was informed everything will come together. Got the curries with no sign of breads after 10 min food was served. Asked them few times, breads was brought over but then curries were cold.
How hard is it to bring the food together, when told them they took the curries to reheat but then breads were cold as. What a mess really. They apologised again. They don’t even provide spoons with curries, how are we meant to eat them. Asked them few times before they had to wash few in kitchen & Brough it over when we were nearly done.
Food was ok but the way it was served made us think is that what we came for.
Not going there again, no way. Maybe they need to turn it as only a takeaway restaurant rather dine in as they can’t handle the crowds.
Shame on the owner as he was there while this all happened, no sign of service recovery.
Lost a loyal customer & a word of mouth which goes a long way.

I've never had a bad meal here, and I eat here often. Family friendly, superb meals and friendly service. What else could you want?
Local tip though, the bottle shop next door now closes early so make sure you plan your drinks ahead.

Best Indian in Darwin, and I’ve tried majority of them! We pay extra to have this delivered from the Northern Suburbs to Palmerston. Honestly have had it upwards of 10 times and every single time it is perfect.

We have been to a number of Indian restaurants in the northern suburbs and this is the best by far. The food is always delicious. Meals are quick. Staff are attentive. The restaurant itself is in need of a refurb, but the food more than makes up for it!

Father day dinner, walked in was seated, menus and water, another family walked in and was seated, we read the menu, ready to order, indicated to the lady we were ready, closed our menus, she walked over and took the families order so we waited and waited, way too busy to serve us, place was very empty, so after walking past we just got up and left, taking our money elsewhere. Never to return.

Ordered takeaway on line, I had paid ahead otherwise I would have walked away, filthy kitchen dirty black goo seeping down the wall from extract fan, filthy staff and I took one look at the food and binned it.
Give this place a wide berth.

Visited the place on 22/12/19 with high expectations, starters was really good- malai chicken tikka , however, main course punjabi chicken curry was below average with flavours missing and felt like over cooked stew. Rice wasn't good either. Garlic nan was really good. Also ordered mango lassi which was too thick and had too much mango pulp in it !! Overall experience was average. Won't be back. .

We visited in September 2019 and our friends took us here. They explained that you have to get used to a lower standard of service in Darwin nearly everywhere you go. Food was just OK in my opinion and small servings. Not sure who posted the great default pictures of meals here on the website but mine dod not look like those.
Anyhow, 3 staff were just chatting near the kitchen while we waited and waited to order more rice and nahn bread. In the end I went over and ordered from them. UNCARING about diners who pay their wages I would say.
My food beef vindaloo had lots of gravy but only about 4 pieces of beef - with gristle and fat. NOT IM PRESSED. (mystery beef?)
Nahn bread servings were the smallest Id ever seen anywhere on my travels. I personally would go elsewhere next time.
RATED - just OK. Nothing more.

I eat indian on a regular basis and this was by far one of the best I have tasted. Very large restaurant with ample seating and a vast menu. Food was delicious and very filling, all came out very quickly.
