Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of Darwin’s most pleasant green cafe’s, set in the Botanical gardens in an historic building that has been enhanced in recent years with the addition of outside decking. Great coffee and cakes at reasonable prices (watch out for the weekend surcharge -ouch). The breakfast...menu has quite a good range of offerings that twist the normal just a little. Worth a go if you are in Darwin 👍👍😋More

Called into this cafe after visiting the Botanical Gardens and we were pleased with the food and coffee that we had ordered. A great location within the Gardens and we were pleased to sit on the outside decking to have our meals. A very good...way to sit and relax and to have some refreshments, and is recommended.More

We had high expectations based on the reviews. However we found the quality average as was the service provided. Just had coffee there.

We had a huge, magnificent all day breakfast! We both enjoyed our meals and the coffee was perfect - even had a second cup!

This was just 5 mins away from our Airbnb so very convenient. Great food, amazing setting - at the base of the Botanical gardens…very popular for locals, tourists, kids and dogs.

This place appeals to a visitor from Melbourne because the coffee is excellent. And the menu is creative. And the service especially from the woman with whom I placed our order, warm and inviting.

We have found it very hard to find any vegan food while holidaying in Darwin and saw Eva’s had a few options. I chose the tofu salad which I must say was the worst salad I have ever had. Who puts warm apple with tofu???...I was expecting a cold salad (that includes the quinoa and kale) but the whole dish was warm and unpleasant.More

First time to be here and one the best cafe I have ever been. The scones were freshly out of the oven when we ordered and it was really good. Fast service and amazing atmosphere.

Unfortunately this cafe has changed. Used to love taking visitors here but now they just take advantage of the beautiful location. Service was very average even when it quietened down no one came to clear tables. Food was overpriced compared to other Darwin cafe’s for...brunch. Coffee was ok. Probably the only upside. Then they charged $8.80 for a seriously small cupcake that was hard from being in the fridge - taking advantage of tourists on the area it was barely worth $2 flavour wise but I’d expect $4 maybe at most. We’re talking a seriously small cupcake not even a muffin for almost $10! After meals being expensive $24plus for a simple brunch to letting my daughter get a small cupcake before we went home and being charged almost $10 it left a sour taste. We will stick to the other local cafes near by not taking advantage of people. (Fresh Point, DeLaPlage and Foreshore) disappointed Eva’s. We won’t be back.More

I love going to Eva’s for my morning coffee - they make Iced Lattes just the way I like them. The service is always friendly and you can’t beat the view of the Botanic Gardens. Make sure to come early for a table, it does...get very busy on the weekends!More

Eva’s is in such a beautiful location and being Darwin locals, we sometimes give Eva’s “another go” in the hope that it has improved. However, the last 2 times we have been, the service (the same young guy) has been substandard. Brunch for Mother’s Day...was always going to be busy. However when the waiter came to clear away dishes from the previous occupants, he didn’t bother wiping the table ( or later when we brought our food) despite carrying a cloth. We order 3 ACAI CHIA BOWLs which are partly liquid. However he only brought 2 spoons and handed my husband a knife and fork instead. When we asked for a spoon he said ‘there are none left”, shrugged his shoulders and walked off. We were surprised he hadn’t sorted this out before bringing our food. We ended up asking the barista for a tea spoon which was better than a fork! When I went back on the 29th June (a lot less busy), my friend ordered a lactose free hot drink and I ordered a latte. When the waiter brought these 2 hot drinks out he dumped them in the middle of the table. We had to call him back to ask which drink was which. I was astounded that he didn’t ask who ordered which so he could hand them to the right person (basic service) or at least volunteer which was which as he put them down. This lack of service is becoming difficult to overlook despite wanting to. Unfortunately the ACAI CHIA BOWLs had a really strange flavour that none of us enjoyed. The lovely looking cupcakes on the 2nd occasion (purple velvet) had probably been stored too long in cold storage as the creamy icing had hardened although the cake itself was ok. I tried to send this feedback to an email address rather than a public forum however I couldn’t find contact info on their website.More

The size of coffee cups here is joke. My ‘cup’ was tiny - hardly bigger than an espresso cup. The large coffee vessel should be called a cup, not a mug. Lovely venue but if you want a decent coffee go somewhere else.

Lovely place, friendly service and great breakfast. I had the Acai Chia Bowl and it was very tasty and a good portion. The Iced Latte was good, too.
