They have set prices on the board for sandwiches. Get to the part where they ask what salad and you ask what comes with the price they say “whatever you want”. Get to the counter and it’s $3 to $4 extra on already an expensive...price. You guys should be more transparent with prices. This kind of practice turns me off going back.More
Good recommend from some mates, great little Sandwich bar in Parap. Freshly made orders, very quick service, heaps of different options. Good food good prices.
Add lettuce, tomatoes on your choice of bread or roll and you have a substantial lunch-good choice of other luncheon food from hot or cold
Good range of choice great value or money and friendly staff. Staff is always happy to chat if they are not busy and are super friendly
If you forget your lunch, need a pick up or a warm smile... get on down to Toppy's. I personally go for a chicken and gravy roll, but there are many more health options. Favorite quote "Doctor, we not see you long time, why you...not come her..." Great restaurant, great staff and good price.More
Often pop into Toppy's for a fresh sandwich or roll at lunchtime. They provide simple, no-nonsense food that is always very fresh and tasty. The premises are very clean and the service quick and friendly. It makes a nice change from all the super trendy...cafes that are popping up all over Darwin now that still can't get the basics right.More
Always stop in here and get a fresh salad roll for lunch when I'm in the area. Yum! They also have homemade pasta, sausage rolls and roast for sandwiches. Always pretty busy.
Friendly staff, speedy service, good takeaway food. Perfect for a quick lunch if you work in the area.
This is a place that is made famous by the locals. Good wholesome no fuss food. But it's just your standard sandwich bar. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there, unless I was in the area.
You can rely on getting a nice sandwich, cool drink or milkshake here. Also general items. Friendly service, with parking nearby on weekdays and Sunday. Saturday busy till about 3pm
Occums Razor is a principle of elimination based on assumption devised via predictability. Theorized by William Ockham. and English Franciscan early 13th Century and mid 14th Century Theologian England. I was to be reminded of all the wonderful things that were once taken for granted...as I entered Toppys this fateful day. Not typified by the usual second rate standard I have become used to since leaving Qld and stepping back in time to Darwin's lazy and beguiling ambiance, the atmosphere in this little quaint sandwich shop was positively vibrant. I cast my eyes on the colorful canvas of different food groups that boldly presented itself before me, a virtual banquet of flavors and invitation of choice. Using a system of logic and reasoning I narrowed my selection down to predictability by assumption. I liked the look of the roast and I chose it for my mid day indulgence. I chose of course under the assumption that the meat would be fresh and the bread entertaining. An assumption devised in good theory, based on the decor and attitude that the shop proudly boasted, yet just like any good theory of assumption and predictability, practicality can be a harsh judge. I was expecting Turkish, sour dough or rye, maby some pumpernickel, sadly however my expectations were crudely interrupted with a sharp crack that shattered my thoughts "white bread ?" was the question. It became clear that my choice of bread was limited to the domestic variety and I chose as close to culture as I could and suggested whole meal. The roast was layered on in generous portions and the crisp and clean chips came minutes later and all looked reasonably attractive. And then the brutality of predictability was set upon me in bedeviling onslaught of mockery and contempt as the roast gave host to its true self and left me gagging for air, as I was chocking on its musky aged and most certainly out of date soured and rusty juices. I rushed for my water and drowned the beast that had betrayed my wiling and salivating taste buds. I am now left with the Crude cut of Occums Razor that has denied its own principals, that not all that you assume is predictable.More
