Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an absolute ball eating lunch at the Precinct today with our children. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival we received activity booklets with crayons and even had the pleasure of watching children's shows on the TV outside. Thank you for an...amazing outing with the family. Food was also very delicious.More

Food was great and many choices on the menu. Outdoor area is relaxed and the drinks are cold. Sport available on the screens and live music on the weekends. Everything a good pub needs and worth a visit if you're in the area.

We had a pleasant evening meal at this spacious and popular pub / tavern on Darwin’s busy Waterfront precinct. It’s been around since 2012 when the Waterfront district swung into operation. In many respects it’s a traditional pub, albeit with a modern and spacious interior...with three bar areas, a gaming lounge, and numerous large screens for showing current sporting fixtures. However, its pleasant outlook, with views across the wave pool and swimming complex from the wide deck area, adds to the conviviality of the pub. The pub serves a variety of craft beers, wines and cocktails, and has a comprehensive menu of traditional pub fare as well as more contemporary dishes. The menu includes a variety of shared platters, pizzas, burgers, salads, grilled steaks, mains such as seafood linguini, bangers and mash, and mushroom risotto. The pub also has a ‘Seniors’ menu, with some of the mains listed considerably cheaper, though I assume the portions would be much smaller. We sat outside on the covered deck area overlooking the wave pool. It was a pleasant spot, sufficiently removed from loud music and throbbing screens. The meals we chose were the tempura fish and chips, and the traditional chicken parmigiana. Both meals were delivered fairly promptly. Whilst not haute cuisine by any means, both dishes were fresh, tasty, and more than ample proportion-wise. The meals came with a serve of mixed rocket salad. Overall, we enjoyed the food, the relaxed atmosphere, and the convivial ambiance. The tavern a ten minute walk from Darwin’s city centre, in the heart of the Waterfront precinct, overlooking the wave pool. We'd certainly return for a meal of the opportunity to revisit Darwin arises.More

Called in for diner, more of a drinking venue vibe than to enjoy a meal. I went for the steak and would have dearly loved to rated it a 10 but alas, it arrived at our table cold :( Having said that, the flavour was...delicious.More

was in Darwin on business trip and wandered down to The Precinct on Monday night, normally Mondays quiet in any city but Tavern was doing alright, ordered the steak special and some drinks, whilst the steak wasn't the best the service and atmosphere certainly made...up for it, the CC slushie ( Canadian Club) was smooth, highly recommend as the ad you're over beer. The whole precinct in Darwin was surprising. I could definitely picture a great weekend down here.More

The place smells like a third world toilet. Sort it out. Average expensive beers and poor service. You can actually smell the stench before you walk-in the door

The location and atmosphere is very nice. I tried two different burgers and unfortunately they were both bland. Especially disappointing given they have their own smoker. Great spot for a beer outside though.

We came here numerous times over the past 10 days for lunch or just drinks in the afternoon. Pizzas are good. Fish burger is awesome. Great place to cool off and chill out.

Ordered the chicken Parma seniors meal for lunch today. Came out as an extremely overcooked crumbed 1/3rd of a breast with semi cold chips and a few salad leaves. Chicken was dry and crumb coating was oily. Very disappointing in both quality and quantity. Service...was good, drinks were good, Just this food was poor. Partners pulled pork tacos were excellent.More

We love to swim at the waterfront. After a few hours of sun and swimming, head over to The Precinct for a cold ginger beer on tap with ice and a slice of lime. It's very refreshing, just what you need in the Darwin heat....The food is great too, the burgers are tasty.More

Lovely location on the Waterfront. Nice outdoor seating area. Order and pay at the bar and food is delivered to your table. Good pub menu. Sliders, tacos, burgers, pizzas and all the usual pub favourites. Tasty and nicely served. Friendly, efficient staff.

Great tavern on Darwin Waterfront. Great food, great staff and great atmosphere. Oh and great music. We sat here one afternoon after our flight had been cancelled and really enjoyed having a few G&T’s and a good feed. There is also plenty to see and...do in the area.More
