This restaurant shows so much promise but just missed in the execution.
Probably half full on a Friday night when we at here and I can't fault the produce but my main problem was that the food was cold tough and tired. Cooking things in large batches and then leaving them sitting under the "heat" lamps it just wasn't great.
Dessert bar was Ok but not as well serviced as it could have been letting things run out then taking 20 minutes to restock.
Better value and quality of food at the bar menu or room service at $100 per head it needed to do better.

We thought we would book the buffet meal for our last night here we knew it was going to be expensive from the reviews we had read but we didn’t expect to pay $225 for a meal which to be honest whilst nice wasn’t exactly outstanding!
The restaurant is nice, lots of tables and you need to book. A bottle of Pale Ale, and a small one at that was $15 a bottle of water was $10 so it’s a case of buyer beware here, because if you’re not going to eat your own body weight in food don’t go, unless of course you can afford to do this every night in which case fire in!
The staff were very attentive, very polite and friendly.
We did tip but there’s no information on what happens with the tips, are the pooled and distributed amongst the wait staff or what? It would be nice to know what happens to the tips so you know wait staff are getting what they should.

This is OK as it goes but a buffet is a buffet. It’s on the more expensive side of any buffet I’ve been to before being honest but that’s about where you are and we weren’t worried by the cost. There is plenty of food to choose from and the seafood choices alone probably make this worthwhile to most people. The service is again, OK. The staff will wait wine, water and take plates etc. we are enjoyed the food. You must book and if you are going to use this place for dinner book on arrival and cancel if you decide to go elsewhere.
what I didn’t like was that when we were there a family group were allowing their quite young children to use the buffet without any supervision and the children were literally grabbing hands of food and walking away eating it, returning within moments and taking more. They weren’t using plates and when other diners tried to step in an help the kids just walked off. At one point one of the kids who couldn’t reach and item climbed onto the buffet near the ice creams and deserts, we then saw him running his fingers around his mouth! Two of the children ran around the buffet with a mobile phone filming and taking photos of the food, pointing it under the protective screens and running between diners who were getting food. Hygiene is one of the reasons I usually give buffets a steer and no one seemed to be doing anything to stop this behaviour; amid COVID concerns I think that any buffet needs to have some rules about how it is managed and how patrons behave. Simply thinking people will be considerate is a mistake. Now to be clear I like kids, I think it’s nice to see families out together and this isn’t actually a moan about children, and while the family should have perhaps been supervising the restaurant has a duty of care to all customers and ought have stepped in.
There is no one way system, as I’ve experienced at other buffets since COVID and no rules that children under 12 are accompanied to the buffet stations. Both of which would have perhaps prevented the unhygienic behaviour we observed. I also think hand sanitising stations at the entry to the buffet wouldn’t go amis. There were no obvious extra precautions.
Sadly I felt I couldn’t use the buffet after watching this behaviour and we left to eat snacks in our room.

We had booked the restaurant in the morning. When we arrived we were informed that the costs for the buffet no longer applied, but had increased significantly since the booking was made. The selection of dishes was sufficient, but the taste was somewhat disappointing. The service was a disaster. Drinks were only taken shortly before closing time, and the plates were not cleared away, even though there were only a small number of guests. Even the free table water was only served after repeated requests.

There a limited options for dining at Yulara however we did enjoy our buffet dinner. I had booked before arriving at the restaurant however it did take a while to be seated as bookings weren't prioritised. The options provided were lovely and would recommend for a buffet experience.

We decided to try this buffet dinner while we were staying at Sails in the Desert. We couldn’t have been more impressed with the freshness, quality and range of food available as a buffet in the middle of nowhere. From the oysters to the red meats, salads and incredible desserts, everything was well prepared and provided in abundance. Also the staff were very well trained and hard working. Great dinner experience!

We had breakfast there most days (unless our tour started too early). The buffet was good, but sometimes food wasn't where you'd expect it to be. But we could generally find what we wanted, and the staff were always happy to help. Dinner was a fixed price, and we thought it was too expensive so we didn't try it.

It’s just a buffet. I struggle to grasp the hype. As with any buffet some of the food is stale and stewed in its own juices. Nothing stood out. We struggled to get the staff’s attention for drinks etc, but we understand staffing issues currently. While the decor was pleasant the vibe was a bit cafeteria- constant clearing and sorting of plates going on behind us. We enjoyed the atmosphere and food much more at Arnguli grill at Dessert Gardens.

We had buffet breakfast and buffet dinner at Ilkari. There was a great selection with something for all tastes, even vegan desert options . Staff are very attentive and removed dirty plates and refreshed drinks often.

We had 2 dinners and 3 breakfasts in this restaurant. Food was fresh and variety large.
We had breakfast included in our tariff ($44 to purchase) and dinner was $77 each. Oysters, prawns and salmon available at dinner.
The restaurant is surrounded by the beautiful gardens and very nicely laid out.
The wait staff and chefs were all very pleasant and professional.
A tip is to buy an Accor Plus membership, it’s $400 per year and includes 1 free night of accommodation at most Accor properties per year. Also 50% off food bills when up to 2 are dining. Also you get a free drink voucher x 2 for each stay at an Accor Hotel.

A huge buffet offering a vast array of foods not often found on your standard hotel buffet. The food was delicious and constantly being refreshed...the dessert assortment was pretty spectacular! The staff were attentive and personable without hovering. The buffet is certainly not an inexpensive dining option but it does offer value for money considering the quality of the food and the produce used.

When you go to Central Australia and they talk about bush tucker, you expect to get some different flavours. This restaurant doesn't deliver. We visited once for the buffet dinner and once for breakfast. At tge dinner The smoked kangaroo was delicious. The buffalo steaks chewy. The lack of bush spices was very evident. Yes there was a good amount of food. Curries, Asian, charcuterie, a little seafood but nothing to rave about when the cost is $90 a head. Then the water was $12. And my one cocktail cost $27. They missed the mark on showcasing amazing bush flavours. But we had to do it once. Breakfast was the usual food at buffets. Nothing special except the bread and butter pudding was to die for. Once again pricey. $49 a head. The chai pudding was disgusting and fizzed on your tongue like it was rancid. Don't try it.

If you are staying at the Sails then I would recommend this breakfast for each day of your stay. Even if you do a sunrise activity (like camels), the buffet is available when you return. Also it is much cheaper to purchase it with your room rather than when you get there.

Delicious and loads of choice. Incorporating bush foods into the cuisine plus a mix of salads, meats, Indian, desserts. Thoroughly enjoyed the food experience.
My booking was for 6pm and I arrived promptly at 6.02pm. I was turned away, and told to come back in 5 or 10 minutes as they weren't ready, and that I was early (hence knowing it was 6.02pm because I was embarassed and checked the time) The better welcome would have been to seat me and get me a drink (which would have resulted in feeling welcome, and me spending more over the bar). Once I was seated, I could not get attention to order a drink (I was only one of 4 people dining at the time, the other was a group of 3).
It appears I was the only one who didn't get salt & pepper on the table.
I would like to give a shout out to Kira who was serving up the meats. She made me feel welcome, and not "too busy" to speak with a guest. Friendly, and was the one who initiated a dialogue. Thank you Kira.

We had prepaid for the breakfast buffet so were curious as to what we'd get now that there are restrictions in place. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that it has been replaced with a generous table-service with lots of options. Unfortunately this was not explained to us on the first day, which left us a bit confused as various plates turned up in random order, often meant for other tables.
The service was friendly and the trainees were doing their best but if felt like the restaurant lacked leadership and someone keeping things running smoothly. There would be long delays at times for things and little things would be forgotten or confused. The food was reasonable enough, but not up to the high standard of an expensive hotel. Little touches, such as overdone cooking and the butter sachets always being completely melted (obviously left under a warmer) just kept adding up. We didn't mind, but for a restaurant claiming to be high end (and charging that way) it was disappointing enough to stop us booking an expensive dinner there.
Given the convenience and the generosity of the options and inclusions I'd recommend the breakfast overall, but there could be improvements to it.
