This restaurant was recommended to us as a fine dining experience. It was a great meal. Each plate was beautifully presented. The meat was cooked perfectly, the vegetable dishes were delicious and desserts were similarly very good. Our waitress was new but delightful.
Our only con was the chefs choice option on the menu. Four of our table opted for the chefs choice. This is a very reasonably priced option of three courses for $95 of a few selected menu choices. Not all items are part of this offer. The fifth person wanted a la carte. For two reasons. There main meal choice was not offered in the chefs choice and three courses was too much food. At this point we were advised all of us must choose the chefs choice for it to be an option for our table. This is not stated on the menu and we were not advised at the beginning of our meal by our waitress. The manager came to our table repeated the rules. He was passively aggressive in his language and tone even as he said he would make an exception - this time. Our issue is, if this a rule put it on your menu. Or remove the option. Why make your staff have to defend an odd rule that they get so windup they are borderline unpleasant. This is great food, lovely service (apart from mr grumpy who avoided our table after our conversation). Well worth a visit if you love good food.

This is one of only two restaurants that you can (or have to) book in Yulara. We were very pleasantly surprised with the standard of service and food . It’s quite expensive but obviously with the location being so remote they would have high costs. It was great to see a team of indigenous chefs using native ingredients as part of their dishes. We had the beef short ribs, a specialty at $120 to share. It was delicious! And we couldn’t eat it all . … we’ll have to go back to try dessert !

Not as good as it pretends to be:
* we looked at the online menu and liked it. The actual menu was completely different and disappointing: 3 types of burgers and pasta bolognaise is not something you expect at a restaurant like this.
* we ended op taking the shrimp (supposedly a light meal but in fact a nice starter) and the barramundi (not a very original option). They were good.
* we shared the cheese platter as desert. 3 blocks of cheese with more bread and crackers than you can ever fill with the available cheese. The choice of Brie and Cheddar plus blue cheese is ok but not special.
* I have not recognized a single outback ingredient, which was one of the reasons we choose the restaurant in the first place.
The restaurant has an air of being special and the food we had was good but quite expensive as well.

Dear TacoDijk,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent dining experience at Arnguli Grill & Restaurant. We appreciate your insights and are glad to hear that you enjoyed the shrimp, barramundi, and cheese platter.
We apologise for any disappointment caused by the menu differences and for not meeting your expectations regarding the inclusion of local ingredients. We strive to offer a diverse selection that reflects the uniqueness of our location, and your feedback will help us in refining our offerings.
Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding our pricing. We understand that it may seem higher than expected, but prices in remote areas often reflect the increased logistical costs associated with transport and supply. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.
Best regards,

Excellent fine dining experience!
Our meal was delicious and amazing in taste and presentation, local indigenous ingredients were highlighted beautifully - we opted for the $95 Chefs special which provides a wide range of selections from the menu for 3 courses and a side- representing great value!
Paired with a great Grenache from an Aboriginal owned and operated vineyard in the Barossa completed our dining experience in the beautiful, remote setting of Uluru and Kata Tjuṯa.
The service was fantastic, warm and friendly as we have experienced throughout our holiday. The staff were first class!

Amazing delicious gluten free food at Arnguli Grill, which only reopened while we were staying here at Uluru, and we’re so happy that it did, our meals were exceptional, we both enjoyed the very generous and tasty seared scallops for entree, for mains my husband had the Venison Back Strap with several flavoured sauces to try and I had the Smoked Beef Short Ribs which was amazing the meat just fell off the rib. All enjoyed with Mountadam 550 Cabernet Sauvignon.
The staff were exceptional, warm, friendly and very attentive to all our Gluten Free requirements, almost everything on the menu is Gluten Free, which was such a treat for my coeliac husband.
Best dining experience in a long time.

We dined at Arnguli on our first night at the Ayers Rock Resort and loved it.
Service was fast and attentive and our meals - the Eye Fillet Surf & Turf and Prawn & Scallop Linguine were amazing. It was in fact one of the best pasta dishes I've ever eaten.
Highly recommended.

Amazing service and food to match. We had two servers Simone & Cristiano that were really professional and personable, definitely set the scene for the food that we couldn’t fault. We had the pork & prawns for entree and the steak and lamb for main with a couple sides (slightly over ordered) but totally worth it. The polenta fries were really good as everything else. Highly recommend, we’re a little devastated we came across it our last night here.

It’s very well presented and food good but staff lacked attention. We were asked when booking whether there were any dietary limitations and when we arrived. Even though we twice advised that we had a gluten free person he was provided with one of the standard bread rolls. It then took 15 minutes for him to receive a gluten free option. Secondly, the waitress stacked the plates one on top of the other cleaning scrap off one to another in front of our noses. Very disappointed

What a surprise! We had a fantastic meal, all the way out here in the middle of nowhere. Ambience/decor was a little lacking, but the menu, the food itself, and the staff were all great.
I went the scallops and kangaroo (as you do when you’re here)…both delicious and the pomme frites (which I thought were just chips but were way better than that).
My vegetarian partner had mushroom parfait (a little wet), salad (had all the makings of awesome, but needed some more acidity in the dressing), Brussel sprouts (great).
All up, was a very good meal, which exceeded expectations, well-served by the team.
Lost a star cause the restaurant itself was a bit golf-club and the bar menu was pretty poor (couldn’t do ginger beer, wine list a bit average, and the beer list hopeless (as with most Aussie restaurants we’ve visited so far, they don’t seem to have caught up with other parts of the world and realised that for a lot of people, good beer matters. The beer most serve is akin to serving cask wine, just mass produced blah).

Food was good but not outstanding. The Australian bread, was a simple finished chiabatta and the French butter simply packed. The main courses were good. The staff made Exclusive, but unfortunately was not attentive. The water was only refilled upon request.
I would have liked more authenticity. But of course everything has to be brought there.

The service and quality of food here is unbelievable. Highly recommend booking a dinner here during your stay. We ordered the cauliflower steak, duck fat chips, broccolini and fish of the day which was salmon. Also ordered the chocolate dessert but didn’t feel it was worth it for $24. The still water was $12 which annoys me that they aren’t upfront on the price, but I guess that’s all fancy restaurants. So while it was a pricey meal, it was worth it for quality and location.

Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, outstanding food. Yes, it is on the expensive side but if you are looking for fine dining, it is a good value. Hey, you are spending a lot of money to get to Ayers, the accommodations are expensive, rental cars or tours are expensive, so why be concerned about spending a little extra for a great dining experience.

Elegant restaurant in the center of Yulara, within the Resort but open to the public. Excellent meats, recommended if you want to taste Australian meat. With the menu formula for two people, you can eat kangaroo, emu and wallaby, with a side of stewed vegetables and baked potatoes. All very good. Nice service even if sometimes with little carelessness, but everything is fine if considering that you are in the desert! Wine list with excessive mark-ups in my opinion. Account adequate but not exaggerated. To try.

We were looking forward to dinner at this restaurant as it is probably the best one in the Resort and we had a driven from Alice Springs.
We had a waitress on her first shift. My wife had a salad and ordered a soufflé with nuts and other berries, which was outstandily delicious. The funny thing is that no bread was offered because if you want bread you will have to pay for it. This seemed strange to me for a fine dining restaurant. For my main course , I ordered kangaroo tail, raw to medium, but instead I got a well done piece of meat, which is very tough and hence the reason for ordering raw to medium. The waitress was very apologetic and a new dish appeared very quickly but still not sufficiently raw but acceptable. I don’t think that I will try ‘roo again as the meat is very tough and the taste is nothing special. The wine Bornoli was good. I would not put off people from going to this restaurant as the soufflé was out of this world, just don’t make my mistake and order kngaroo!!

I visited this restaurant with high hopes. We were seated promptly and given menus , chefs special menu sheet and water glasses was filled. We ordered wine but the were not asked if we want more when the glass was empty. We were then promptly forgotten and it wasn't even a busy time. Eventually after 20 minutes the waitstaff came back for our order. We were a group of four and two of the group ordered the chefs special menu. The waitress then came back to tell us it was not available so why give us the special menu? We then ordered off the available menu and the food was delicious. Waited again and eventually beckoned the staff over to ask for the dessert menu. Again just delicious. Waited again and after about 10-15 minutes gave up on a coffee and port order we were going to have. Other patrons were diligently looked after so I don't know how we kept getting missed. Great food but not great service for us unfortunately.
