Went in a group for dinner. The older gentleman was sarcastic, rude and argued when I requested him for some entree as it was a per head banquet. They had plenty of bread to give as it’s cheap. Ripped us off on the quantity of...food. Prawns in tomato had no taste and the dish was cold. I was told by the waiter it’s 2 prawns per person. HOW SHAMEFUL? Filthy toilets.More

We were dining with friends from Canada who were jet lagged so wanted only a small meal. The restaurant was nowhere near full, so we weren’t taking tables from more lucrative customers but the attitude of our server made it very clear that our friends...should have ordered more (we had normal meals) . Service from that point was very poor. Which was a pity, as the food, though not cheap for the rather small meal size, was very tasty. There weren’t a lot of staff for the people in the restaurant, so perhaps they were just over stressed, but the food is probably not enough to bring us back.More

Wanting lunch after going on a whale watching trip from Darling Harbor we had to choose which of the many restaurants on the wharf to eat at. All the restaurants have their menus available to look at before deciding and Georges seemed quite reasonably priced...compared to some others. We shared the Grilled Seafood platter for 2 for AUD 119 and it was good value for the money and a generous serve of decent quality seafood and salad. It seemed a family run establishment and all the staff were very friendly and service was quick and efficient.More

In the heart of Barangaroo, this restaurant is an absolute winner. The service was efficient, and the food was delicious and plentiful with large servings. Highly recommended.

While visiting Vivid Sydney last month two of us enjoyed a fabulous dinner at George’s, sharing a mezzo platter, plus squid, breads and a beautiful bottle of Pinot Grigio. Great service, good location and reasonably priced.

A really shockingly bad experience at George’s Mediterranean Bar and Grill last night. I booked this place a month in advance for my 30th birthday, when we arrived on time our table wasn’t ready. I had requested indoor seating, to which I was told that...was noted on the booking but by the time our table was set up we were sat outside with no explanation. The table ordered and here’s where the issues began, our “mains” were insanely small, over cooked and cold by the time by they reached our table. Everyone was shocked at the small serving size. Attached are the photos of two mains and one appetizer as there were no vegetarian mains. $28.50 for the souvlaki $40 approx for the fish $18 for the halloumi The chips that were ordered were stale and unseasoned. The real issue and reason for this review was I had organised a cake prior. When I spoke to staff before the event I was told it would cost $2.50 PP to cut the cake (which I already find absolutely extortionary in the first place) but I agreed because it was too late to find somewhere else. The cake was brought out and left on the table with a knife and plates, I was really confused but since no one came back to take the cake I was left to cut it myself. Once the bill came, I straight away noticed a $15 cake charge. I flagged the waiter serving us and he instantly got a terrible and aggressive attitude. I asked what the charge was for since no one cut the cake and he just acted like this was normal and just started repeating “Do you want to speak to the manager? Do you want to speak to the manager?” Another guest at the table repeated we weren’t sure what the charge for was because how could it be $2.50 PP if there was no cake cut, it was essentially a storage fee. He just hit back again with “well do you want to speak to the manager?” I said yes and to the managers credit he seemed pretty surprised and apologized as the cake was definitely meant to be cut and served. The charge was removed but we were left a little shaken and the mood was definitely made worse. Two guests from the table went to speak to the manager about a separate issue on the bill afterwards and the same waiter saw them wanting to talk to someone and completely ignored them. Terrible, terrible experience and not one to want to experience for a milestone birthday. Wouldn’t recommend and will not be returning.More

Very disappointed in our experience tonight. Especially when it came to paying the bill. And they added 10% for a group of 8 people. Took ages to get a drink. The restaurant was not busy by any means. Will not be visiting again. Or recommending...to anyone.More

We brought our 2 kids (3 and 1) as the result aunt offered a kids menu with pasta (picky eater). After we ordered, a man approached our table and pushed a plate so it wouldn’t fall off of the table. He continued to watch our...table and again approached us saying to make sure not to smash a plate. My 1 year old grabbed his plate of food (that I thought was out of his reach) and dumped it on the floor. The man immediately came over and scolded us saying “I told you to be careful. That’s a 60 dollar plate!” Obviously it was a total accident and I was doing my best to make sure nothing got broken. Anyway. Definitely not family friendly and felt so uncomfortable being watched by this man the entire time we were there. Ended up just paying for our meals and taking them with us as we just didn’t want to be watched by this man anymore.More

After reading reviews and hearing about this restaurant we were excited to go. Sadly it was a disappointment. We were seated and then ignored for just over 25min. Many servers walked past us, empty handed and would not look at us. We were not even...given the courtesy of a glass of water. There was no acknowledgment that we were even there, no be with you in a min nothing. It wasn’t super l busy but there was also many empty tables around us. Very upsetting to watch waiters and waitresses walk around filling up other tables water glasses but not even thinking considering us. Super sad as had heard great things about the restaurant. Hopefully this is a one off.More

My friend and I both ordered a tzatziki and sourdough dip to share, followed by zucchini fritters with pomegranate arils and a delicious dressing, possibly garlic aioli. Interestingly, the fritters were brought to the table first and, some time after, came our 'starter'. The fritters...were done to perfection: crispy on the outside and creamy inside; a bit of a shame that there were only four each, given that they were not very big.More
