I have been a member of the Esperanto club for over 20 years. This is a place we frequent when we have guests especially from overseas when we need to catch up with old times; Soft piano music in the back ground, matured aged patrons quietly enjoying their fine dining, no one needs to shout over each other to be... We had the 5 course degustation Last Friday Night. From the moment we stepped in we noticed the calming ambience, there was alone Piano Man who provided a very nice background music. The waiter was very attentive to our needs and the 5 courses was served in a very timely manner so that we could enjoy every course with it's... More

We were the guests of an elderly life member and his wife and the ambience of this restaurant suited us beautifully. So "old world" maybe 1940's and reminiscent of the Melbourne Club! The waiters were full of personality and perfectly trained and suited.

I found this restaurant to be one of the best in Sydney. For atmosphere service and food quality . Certainly for its location in the central CBD area of Sydney.

This was our second visit it to the Esperanto Dining Room at the City Tattersalls Club and it did not disappoint. The room has an old world charm which is aptly matched by the very professional and efficient staff. A practically unobtrusive piano player providing short and very quiet renditions adds to the atmosphere where you feel you've travelled 100... More

I was fortunate enough to experience Esperanto at a Christmas in July catchup with some old work colleagues. Such a lovely dining room with attentive and experienced staff and the food - perfect. I had the lamp rump and it was devine. Everyone enjoyed their meals and if I'm lucky enough to be invited back I'll be going for the... More

Dined there with 3 others and enjoyed the very "different" menu. I had the seared Wild Pigeon for an entree which was excellently presented and was equally tasty. For a main I had Chicken Ballotine which was served with Rabbit Terrine and Foie Gras. I had Passionfruit Gateaux for dessert. All food was excellent. The setting is elegant and refined,... More

We had an excellent meal at Esperanto today. I had the wagyu beef and my wife had the salmon. The service was good and the old world charm of the restaurant added to the experience. We'll be back.

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
