My second visit in the last 2 months, after a gap of 30 years! Food is terrific, so fresh and tasty. Service is very friendly. We were in a rush to get to a late evening film, both times, however the staff were pleasant and understanding. Good value. Each dish has a distinctive flavour unlike some places where the same... Looking for a quick bite to eat, we drove past Chu Bay Vietnamese Restaurant and decided to try it out. The parking restrictions outside had expired, so we could park outside the restaurant door. The restaurant wasn't packed, due to the rainy and cold night, and rush hour was over. Our waiter, presumably the owner, was very polite and good... More

We have been visiting this restaurant for over 30 years and are delighted that it still provides us with our favourite dishes. The steamed rice rolls are my all time favourite, so fresh and tasty. My husband loves the lemongrass chicken which is very fragrant and has a delicious coconut milky sauce which is great with the jasmine rice. The... More

Our family of five had a wonderful meal at this casual restaurant. We ordered fried spring rolls, fresh vegetarian spring rolls, beef curry, and caramel prawns for dinner. The food were fresh, full of flavours and scrumptious, the best Vietnamese food we had thus far. The highlight of our dinner was the banana fritters, they are absolutely delicious!!My mouth is... Chu Bay has moved location in the past six months or so and are now located in Flinders St and is a family run business. I have actually been coming to this restaurant for many, many years and have spent many happy times there. The food is good, not expensive and usually its the owner who serves customers. It is... We live very close to Chu Bay and decided to stop by this evening. The food was timely, the wait staff were respectful and it was the cultural dining experience it promised to be. We ordered the Banh Xio; (crispy pancake) was a delicious entree to split between us, Pho Bo; good broth, good quality meat and the Prawn Vermicelli;... More

I'd like to think i was just really unlucky today, but i must warn others. Finished work and needed a quick meal, so i thought this place would be nice - considered the positive reviews. The moment i entered, the decor made me cringe and i wanted to step back out. Then i thought "never judge a book by it's... More
