Great food and service and a very pleasant atmosphere. Comfortable seating and light and bright. Terrific for coeliacs also. Best in the Lotus stable.

A very well run and friendly, up market restaurant specialising in top end Chinese food. The service was impeccable. A modern decor, very light, clean and comfortable tables and seating. The food is exceptional with an extensive menu. There is something for everyone! The beverage...menu is also very good. Located across from the QVB, upstairs in The Galerie Building. Very close to transport and shopping. Thoroughly enjoyed the lunch I had there with hubby.More
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place by accident. It was hard to choose from all the dishes on the extensive and creative menu, but the Sichuan chicken was exactly what I was craving on a cold night. The staff were attentive and welcoming,...and a shout out to Ryan especially. It’s reassuring to see old fashioned service is not dead in Sydney.More
Go for the beijing duck. is was excellent, same standard as the 1 in beijing. The Roasted lamb is soso. The dim sum dunpling is no good. But the xiao long bao is excellent. service is good. quiet a worth place to go.
The Lotus Galleries restaurant always maintains a high standard. The menu is creative and absolutely delicious, providing everything from snacks to large main courses. The service is spectacular, very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Ben was no exception today. The location is central to the Sydney...CBD and the décor is cozy without being crowded. There is a good selection of beverages including some wonderful wines to pair with the dishes. We were a little disappointed by the Typhoon shelter bugs. One of the most expensive dishes on the menu, an abundant looking dish on arrival, but mostly shell with small amount of edible flesh. The flavor, like all their other dishes, however, was punchy and delicious. It is still one of my favorite restaurants and is highly recommended.More
Having reviewed the lotus at the galleries some time ago we were eager to visit after 5 months away . This time we were with friends . Not much has changed . Friendly greetings from Ryan the manager, followed by prompt service by staff and...then sensational meals . This time I tried the vegetarian fried rice which I have not tried before here and it was amazing. It provided a great foil to some of the protein dishes we had . The standout was the salt’n’pepper tofu ! In summary lotus is the best we have been to that showcases the best of Asian cuisine.More

We found this restaurant while reading Trip Adviser reviews for the area near our hotel and we are very glad we did. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food and staff were wonderful. One day we had the half Peking duck ($59) at lunch...and it was so good that we booked dinner the next night at which time we had the duck fried rice ($27) and lamb rump ($36), both absolutely delicious. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender. At lunch on the first visit we had the Marked Tree Shiraz ($69/bottle) which was ok, and on the second visit we had the Kalleske Moppa Shiraz ($82) which was excellent. We were lucky enough to be served by Nada on both visits and had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with manager Ryan. We’ll definitely return here on our next trip to Sydney.More

We were in Sydney for 5 days and visited Lotus at the Galleria twice as the food was outstanding . On the first visit Ryan the manager set us up with suggestions on wine and food that suited our palette . First meal was assorted...dumplings and wok tossed mushrooms . Both were excellent and especially the mushroom dish .The lotus seem to have a way with mushrooms that we have not experienced elsewhere and the produce seems to be better quality than we have experienced in other Asian style restaurants . Second visit was the char baked Brussel sprouts with black fungus mushroom and the kung pao chicken . We washed this down with Kalleske “ Moppa” biodynamic shiraz . We visited Lotus 2 years ago and it was great then but now seem to have gone up a notch if that is possible. Lotus offers a Asian style fusion cuisine . From my observation they seem to have put a new spin and improved on old favourites . The Kung Pat chicken was fresh and clean on the palette and was the best we have ever had ! Service -impeccable , good seating and lighting and of course the food is amazing ! We can hardly wait to get back to Lotus next time we visit !More

Great service - attentive without being overbearing. Seated us perfectly for my partial deafness. Excellent food with GF options and staff understanding the needs of a coeliac.
Hi Julian, thank you so much for your positive feedback for your recent dining experience at Lotus Galeries. Thank you for choosing to dine with us on such a special occasion. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
My friend had her birthday here at Lotus, and had a private room specially on her special day! It was truly an amazing experience with great Chinese food and very welcoming, friendly and accomodating staffs! The ambiance is quite traditional and modern with its authentic...Chinese fusion. I usually don’t eat peking Ducks but when I tried it here, it was really good and taste just like normal crispy chicken. I would definitely come back again with my family and let them try this really delicious Chinese restaurant. Although its quite a bit of a price for a Chinese restaurant but still a 100% must to come back if you’re looking for celebrating special ones or just for casual lunch or dinner. 💯More

Overall the food was delicious, original and high quality. We had pork buns (outstanding), crispy tofu and noodles which are all great. We ordered the half duck special but were disappointed in the quantity of duck, particularly the little piece of skin served with sugar....Between three people it was a tiny morsel. In the past service has been excellent at Lotus but last night was very poor and we had to continuously flag down staff for attention. We had booked well in advance online.More
Hi Kaim, Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time out to write this review. We are so glad you had a pleasant experience however we do apologise the quantity of the duck and service didn't meet your expectations. We do hope you...More
We visited the Lotus at the Galleries some 3 years ago and had a great meal ! This time we went and just ordered dumplings and spring rolls . The spring rolls were crispy and not oily and the dipping sauce was divine ! Similar...the experience with the dumplings . This was the best dumplings and spring rolls we have tasted ! We also had a mushroom steamed bun which was delicious . The photo captures the ambience and the service was excellent . We went on a Wednesday evening and so it was busy but not too crowded . Wine was well chosen as well . In short ,a must try if you like clean Asian food - our experience was one of the best so we will be back ASAP .!More
Hi Peter, Thank you for your wonderful review! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your overall experience here at Lotus Galeries, especially that you enjoyed the food and the ambience. We look forward to welcoming you and your guests back soon!
Our group received indifferent service at best. Drinks were slow to appear and the food service was slow or non existent. The restaurant was advised prior to arrival, we had 2, in the party with gluten requirements. The banquet menu for 16 was chosen, it...had dishes suitable for our dietery requirements. Waiters were unaware we had a banquet ordered and delayed service. When asked why we had not received our first course, they said" they were waiting for us to order". POOR COMMUNICATION BY BOOKING STAFF TO THE WAITERS. Dishes were delivered without advising which could be eaten by the Gluten free guests in our group. DID I MENTION THEIR DRINKS SERVICE WAS NON EXISTENT. The head waiter, was insensitive towards our vision impaired member of the party. I would not recommend this restaurant for any reason.More
