My wife and I (from England) ended our cruise holiday in Sydney and visited the Basket Brothers cafe two mornings - having enjoyed the first one we returned the following morning. The service is excellent and there is a great choice of food to start your day. The English Breakfast tea and coffee were also really good. Highly recommended.

Stayed in the city Friday and Saturday nights at Zara towers. This lovely little place is only a couple of doors down from where we were staying and to our good fortune we found basket brothers. Both days the service was fantastic and the food to match. On Sunday morning we shared a breakfast platter which would be as good a breakfast as you can get. Will definitely go there again for a meal. It would be worth a drive to go there for the experience. Well done

The granola was fresh and homemade, with toasted almonds, the yogurt was (I think) homemade too, the fruit was very tasty.
Eggs Benedict was tasty and I really liked that you have vegetables included on the side. I prefer the bacon slightly leaner with less fat but you have the option of salmon or ham with it either so that might be down to my choice, there’s definitely other options to make it healthier.
Delicious green fruit juice and great coffee options. the Vietnamese coffee is more a dessert imho! Deffo coming back!

Outstanding food, would recommend unreservedly to meat-eaters and veggies alike. Had an interesting spin on a classic veggie breakfast fry, with beetroot, avocado and pickles, and the softest poached eggs you can imagine. And those hash browns... 👌

I had a beautifully prepared omelet, the coffee was great and it was a fast and friendly service. The place was also busy with locals which is always a good sign. My breakfast choice was from the very central breakfast package but there is also a much wider general choice.

Far from my expectations. Tasteless omelette with mushrooms and ham that do not add any flavor. Watery juices supposed to be freshly squeezed. Outside table in a downward street next to a high traffic crossroad. And service very slow and incompetent. Toilets full of garbage. I do not understand the ratings being shown.

Hi Michell,
We really appreciate you taking the time to review our restaurant.
I am sorry that your experience was not up to standard on this occasion.
I would like to address few of the issues to start with as the outdoor dining is visible very first when you come to our cafe and not hidden at all. If you don't enjoy to dine outdoor, then we always organise tables inside and its just the matter of letting us know while you there.
Also, we do share toilets with our businesses in the building and have got cleaned twice per day from professional cleaners. But as all businesses going through busy time of the year and things get out of control . We apologies for that will be more careful in future.
Also, would you mind to tell bit more about your food order, as we do not take this kind of review lightly and will be taking further investigations as to why this has occurred.
If you have any more information you can provide about your experience please email us at basketbrotherscafe@gmail.com so we can rectify the situation and ensure it does not happen again.
We trust that if you choose to dine with us again, your experience
will be more pleasurable and in line with your expectation.
Kind regards

Looked up a place to have breakfast as we were staying at a nearby Hotel. Friendly staff, great coffee & tasty breakfast. We ordered a Bacon & Egg roll, Pesto scrambled eggs with mushroom & scrambled eggs on sourdough. All were cooked to perfection & service was great. Recommended

Very inviting, perfect for a weekend catch up. The food is delicuous, with substantial portions. The prices are reasonable and the staff were very accomidating to my dietary needs. I recommend the smashed avo!

Had stayed in the city over night, and wanted to find somewhere for brunch. This was one of the closest places to where we were staying.
Great brunch menu, I enjoyed the omelette, which was light and cooked to perfection. The Espresso was great - and the combination set me up for the day. Other people were eating other things - and everything looked great.
Nice atmosphere, great service, great food - and only 5m walk to Central, where I needed to be next.
I’ll certainly be back here.

Arrived as a group of 3 for a late breakfast on a Sunday morning (around 10:00am) and had to wait 5 minutes for a table as they were very busy (completely fine as I hadn't pre-booked). Interior was clean and inviting, despite being full of customers. Orders were quickly taken and food was delivered in a reasonable time, given how busy they were. Ample sized serves and everything was the temperatures it was supposed to be with excellent flavours to match. It has been over a year between visits as I do not find myself in Sydney often but I will make the effort to go again next time I am in town.

Bacon and egg roll was substantial with added rocket, tomato chutney, aioli and BBQ sauce. Bit strong with the sauces and the egg a bit too runny for me. Coffee was good. Corner café in handy location to some hotels.

Friendly staff, lovely food and great coffee. Prior to our visit we seen online some disney latte art. I was excited to order this (the inner child in me, who cares if I'm nearly 30!) but disappointed to know they no longer do them. However the lovely waitress said she would try and do a seahorse for me.
As a barista myself, I was very impressed with what I got (even though it wasn't minnie mouse 😆)
Would highly recommend

Ate breakfast with family here. I am a vegetarian who eats eggs. I was spoilt for choice in this place as there were so many good options. Everything that our family ordered tasted great and we would definitely go back if we lived in Sydney.

This restaurant was our go-to for breakfast when we were staying in Chinatown in January. Just a short stroll up to Elizabeth Street. I loved the banana bread and the Bircher muesli. My husband had numerous dishes, omelettes, bacon rolls etc. We enjoyed everything. The coffee was great too. The service was efficient and the place seems very popular and good value.
