Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I visited a stop at La Renaissance on our recent trip to Sydney. We each ordered a Shepherd Pie and split a pastry for breakfast. The food was outstanding. Seating is outside at some small tables and chairs.

OMG, this place has the best ham & cheese croissants in the world. I always stop here when I am in Sydney. The staff speaks French which gives it even greater authenticity. Sitting outside sipping coffee and eating one of those buttery croissants is the...bomd. Highly recommended for a nosh ... and it is just a short walk to the Rocks museum.More

Authentic French patisserie with croissants, sandwiches, and pastries. A great spot in The Rocks with outdoor seating and a real Parisian cafe feel. Good coffee and friendly service.

Pleasant sitting areas front and back, efficient staff and a nice array of baked goods. We visited three times for breakfast during a stay in Sydney and loved their pastries! Their pain au chocolat and pain au raisin were as good as anything you'll find...in France. Excellent coffee too. Highly recommended.More

Decent pastries. Service was a little rude. We had kids with us and they seemed annoyed they came in the shop to look before deciding. Ham and cheese on baguette was excellent

Nice cakes, average coffee… probably could do with having more seating available for customers outside at the front of the store

Love this place. Visited multiple times whilst in Sydney. Baguettes, chocolate tarts and apple pies are so good - very similar to those in Paris.

Walked past a few times and seen the queues and how busy it was so thought we must try. So glad we did.. Nothing disappoints 😋 We've been a few times now and tried the ham & cheese baguette, my wife is addicted to the...quiche Lorraine. The creme brulee is to die for its delicious. Coffee flavoured Eclair, citron tarte and pear danish. Probably the best coffee we've had in Sydney. The staff are all very friendly. Might even squeeze in another visit tomorrow before we fly out 😜More

Well, it looked good from the outside!!! The counter server was knowledgeable and courteous, until the end comment. The Beef Burgundy pie had very little flavour the croissant was under baked. The Chai Latte was requested extra hot with no foam….luke warm with foam arrived...which was sent back, the foam removed and retuned. A weak decaf with hot milk was ordered and very strong with cold milk was delivered then when it was brought back it was light brown water. A refund was given with the comment that this had never happened before. Hmmmm, okay. Seems like the barista was being a bit catty to me. Tourists are no reason for below par service when prices are so high.More
