Found this place through Trip Advisor, booked a table and headed over to the Rocks from our base in the CBD. What a find! A super menu - I chose the salmon and hubby had the fish stew. Delicious flavours. The wine we chose was...super smooth too. Not the cheapest of places but a very special evening, made even more special when we talked to the restaurant manager who just so happened to come from my home town of Sutton Coldfield in England! A small world… but would definitely recommend this small, lovely restaurant in Sydney.More

You are spoilt for choice for places to eat in Sydney so selecting a winner hard work. So many choices, so few nights. We found Fish on the Rocks on Tripadvisor and were delighted to have our choice reinforced by the hotel front desk when...we said where we going. It is a smallish establishment which made it feel very personal and friendly. We were lucky to get an table by the looks of things as it was consistently busy. Book ahead. We shared a couple of starters to share between 3, both superb. Similar story with mains. Fresh flavours that complimented the star (it has to be the fish) and perfect portion sizes. Sadly no room for desert even though the choices looked good again. Would love to return. Absolutely superb.More

We came here towards the end of our stay in Sydney; wish we had been here earlier because we would certainly have visited it again. The menu is excellent - there were so many dishes we would like to have tried for all three courses....We highly recommend the seafood salad and the stuffed barramundi. Service was unobtrusive but timely. Friendly attitude and helpful recommendations. Pleasant quiet setting - busy but not noisy. Given the high quality of the offering it offers very good value for money. Highly recommended.More

The seafood was average. Reasonable value for the money. One of us ordered steak and it was not good and overcooked; I know it is a seafood restaurant but every restaurant must have alternatives. Wait staff was friendly.

Dinner for two here recently, nice restaurant inside and outside. Staff excellent, wide range of fish dishes. However, food tasted poor . Prawn starter just didn’t taste great, not gone off or anything, kind of rubbery. Mains , seafood salad, lobster portion was fine however...other pieces of fish completely tasteless. It consisted of salmon, scallops, prawns, other fish, I can’t remember exactly. All very poor. Made me wonder if they use frozen fish . I couldn’t recommend and won’t be back.More
