We had reserved a table thankfully as they were at capacity when we arrived. We had a fantastic view of the Harbour Bridge. Pizzas were great for the price...but....I ordered a non alcoholic Espresso Martini and my husband ordered a normal one. We had a long wait and when they arrived the first sip of my drink was so disgusting I got everyone at the table to try it. We all agreed it was undrinkable and couldn't even work out what was actually in it. If you're going to charge $15.00 for a drink maybe the bartender should try what he's serving to people first, extremely disappointed. My husband then tried his martini and all we could taste was vodka with a hint of espresso. The system of tapping your phone on the QR code at the table to place your order is a great idea, but maybe a bit more explanation of how to use it by the staff after they've seated you.

The Opera Bar is our go to place to eat before a show at the Opera House. There's a great vibe and there are tables reserved for those that are dining before a show. The food is always good and you can have share plates or a full meal. The service is excellent as they know you need to leave early and there is usually live music. So nice to sit and take in the harbour lights and atmosphere - it is Excellent

Crowded! Every time we visited this area, it was packed, mostly with young people enjoying the scene and the drinks. Located right on Sydney Harbour adjacent to the Sydney Opera House, the bar and kitchen were designed to feed and water concert goers, but it’s such a gorgeous locale that it’s become a scene unto itself. On a hot summer night, the umbrellas creating shade along the water also send out cooling mists — it’s impressive to watch the clouds of fine water droplets drift over the overheated crowds. The food is surprisingly good, too, in a location that could be excused for treating it as an afterthought. Terrific pizza — even with a tasty gf option — great salads, a better than average burger, and more are all well done, if delivered in a somewhat harried manner. And don’t despair if you don’t see a place to sit — seek out one of the managers and they will find you a place, even if that might involve getting some revelers to consolidate their sprawling belongings to make room.

Hi Nanioften, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review, glad you enjoyed the views of the Harbour & Opera House we love it too. The team here at Opera Bar are thrilled to hear you enjoyed the food. The pizzas and salads are always a favourite and I will let the owner know you were a fan of the burger too. We love feedback from our customers to continually improve our offering and it is always passed on to the staff. We do hope to see you again soon, have a great day. Opera Bar team.

The food here although never great, is now worse. Fatty overcooked steak, with a cos lettuce accompaniment is not what I call quality. I followed this with cheese platter that consisted of 2 small (tasteless) pieces of cheese. Arguably the greatest building in the world deserves a higher standard of food. There's a real lack of respect for diners here but maybe all they really only want to serve is pizza anyway.

Pre-opera dining at this fabulous location had so much potential, but was poor. Whilst we had an excellent table view of the bridge and reasonable service, the food was less than plentiful. Specifically, on asking for an extra bread roll we were told that 'chef would need to decide about that' and indeed he did and one was not available! Fellow diners joined our consternation when a very small salad bowl arrived for the main course. Others asked as we did if the other table guests could have their bowl, only to be told it was one per table. That meant that my wife and I had six salad leaves each. Come on Sydney opera House, you have it all, the location, the superb building and high prices! Why be so mean? I'd agree with others, dine somewhere else. And my advice to chef? Cook a few spare rolls, you never quite know when you might need one.

Hi Paul, Thanks for taking the time to post your review. Upon reading it further it seems you may have us mistaken for the business next door Opera Kitchen as this happens quite often. We offer different items on the menu from what you & your guests ordered & we also do not offer table service just in the way of an app Me&U where you place your order on your phone & the food is delivered to your table. We do hope that when you are next in the area that you visit us at Opera Bar which is next door. We hope to see you again soon.

A a couple of quiet beers at this bar after visiting the Sydney Opera House - service was nice and friendly, prices reasonable considering the location, and the best part was the view of this magnificent Sydney Harbour. Take a seat anywhere outside the bar and you have a 360 degrees of magic view. Worth going here just for the outlook - just do it..!

Our orders were misunderstood, came in drips and drabs, drinks came well after the food, nothing we ordered came as per our order. Yet that was how the femaile waitress put it in. We were aussie. She was foreign. Use waiters or waitresses who speaka the language.

Hi Crunchie2018, Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you didn’t have a great experience, but it seems you have mistaken us for Opera Kitchen which is the business next door and is seperate to us. At Opera Bar we do not offer table service, you order your food and drinks at either of our two bars and we bring out your food once it’s ready. We do hope that next time you are in the area you will visit us at Opera Bar.

We arrived more than one hour before our show at the Opera House. We ordered some drinks and entrees (nothing that requires long cooking time) from the gadget on the table. The drinks arrived immediately. The same can't be said for the food. After waiting over half an hour for the food I asked the waitress what was going on. Like a deer in headlights she ummed and arred before saying she'll go and check. Needless to say she never came back. So I went inside and asked at the bar. After a bit of toing and froing I was finally told it was coming out in a minute. Food finally arrived 40 minutes later at 1.15pm (show was starting 1,.30pm. Unfortunately to add insult to injury the fried chicken and calamari were tough. The only saving grace were the sweet potato chips. 70 bucks not well spent it must be said. Needles to say we got to theatre late and had to sit out the first session of the show as we weren't allowed in until the intermission. So we got dudded with the late arriving food and plus missed half the show to $150.00 a ticket presentation.

We stopped in here after visiting the Botanical Gardens. It was a hot day but we managed to find seats in the shade. We both had a drink each and a snack for lunch which we ordered on their automatic Me&U set up they have on each table. You just download the app, tap your phone to get the menu, order and set up the payment and the order goes through automatically. Very quick service and helpful staff. We will return in the near future.

Watch the night arrive in this magical outdoor setting along the water below the opera house. We set ourselves up with drinks and a feast of tapas so we could nibble along while savoring the sunset of a glorious summer night Tip: grab a drink and seat on the waterfront bench. From that perch you can make a quick dash when one of the prime tables becomes available.

We always stop here after a big walk and it never disappoints. The place was full and yet there was no dirty table or a single napkin on the floor. Our food was delish and well priced and our drinks cold and we only waited 20 minutes. The staff were working so hard but they were friendly and efficient. Oh and the view is not bad either !!

The food was great. Service was also fantastic. New way of ordering with the “U-and Me” system, where you order from the table by tapping on their sensor and they bring the food to your table. With COVID restrictions and all, this system kept contact to a minimum. In spite of that, they kindly asked if we wanted our dessert served altogether with mains. That’s extra courtesy. Screening upon entry so seats can be allocated properly was also marshalled well. Atmosphere? Well, views were excellent. Who can beat the Sydney Harbour and the Opera House? However, twas a bit noisy for our liking that we can hardly hear each other at our own table. But all else was great! Will be back.

Ordering is via the menu app - no options for dietary requirements or special requests. Staff brought drinks to our table yet never asked if we required menu assistance or advice. No water was brought to the table. After our meals were brought we had to wait for cutlery then walk to the bar to request more cutlery. The venue location is amazing but the pricing of food and drinks is too high for the poor service.

This is a great spot for drinks and nibbles and whilst it's expensive considering it's location it's not bad value.' The nibbles are tasty and they employ a man and a dog to chase the seagulls away which is much appreciated. I used to drink here when I worked in Sydney and it's a great spot at night with live music and a good vibe.

High prices and big lines should be expected in tourist spots like opera bar and it’s worth going for a drink and a snap for Instagram - but don’t expect much more. It’s not worth staying beyond a drink as the menu is expensive and not very good and in our experience the drinks consistently took 15-30 minutes to arrive at the table (even when they were just cans). The one cocktail we got wasn’t good either. We stayed long enough to get a few rounds as we were waiting for a friend - so we know the slow drink time isn’t a one off. This is a bar worth visiting for the view and vibe, but there are plenty of better venues in the area to head to afterwards.
