We have been going to Zia Pina for over 20 years when in Sydney and are pleased to see that the standards are maintained . The food is good , the service efficient and the ambience is great. This is a bit of a Sydney institution and really has not changed much apart from a few new items on the... More

Just missed lunch so came a little early for the 5pm start. Didn't need to line up in the end - but happy to get in and enjoyable Pizza as always. Love it!

Wonderful little restaurant on George Street, The Rocks run by real Italians! Had spagheti with Moreton Bugs! Sounds weird but in fact they're a species of slipper lobster - very tasty. We found food prices in Australian a lot more expensive this time compared to our last visit two years ago but this was relatively inexpensive and the house wine... More

As tourists this is our third visit in 4 years. A cafe style Italian restaurant with good service and good food. A very nice atmosphere. Surprisingly the prices for bottles of wine expensive but we had the house red which was very nice indeed and cheap!

Really good Italian food, the pizzas are great, and the shrimp linguini was really nicely done. Some of the servers are a bit inexperienced but the place is casual and the inexperience kind of adds to the charm, in my opinion. Everyone had a great attitude and that's what counts.

You wander around the Rocks, the ferry area and the Sydney Opera House - its all on foot so it is nice to take a food break and find a reasonably priced, decent place to eat. Zia Pina is tucked away in the Rocks. We very much enjoyed our pasta plates with a good bottle of wine. We arrive a... More

I'd give this zero stars if I could! Service was the worst we've had in a long time anywhere! Arrived and were told we could have a table outside by a lady we never saw again. Sat there for 30 min before we finally had somebody ask.., did you get a menu? Really? We didn't have one thing on our... More

If you're looking for an informal meal in a buzzy restaurant, this is a good place to go. The pizzas and side salads were very fresh and tasty. The service was friendly and slick. It was ideal for us on our first night in Sydney as we arrived late in the evening and needed a quick meal.

We went for lunch (closes at 3). We wanted a quick, tasty meal. There are no cheap eating places in The Rocks so this provided a solution. 1 large pizza (shared) and a drink and complimentary water for 36AUD. Excellent pizza, non-descript service, nice venue. Just the job when you've just spent your life savings walking the bridge.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
