If you want great Greek food with a lively atmosphere and a taverna feel, you must come here! We found this place walking down Oxford Street and decided to make a reservation and give it a try. We were greeted by the owner and immediately taken to our table upstairs. It was a warm night, but we didn't care as... More

Just in Sydney for the weekend and had been to this restaurant years ago and decided to revisit. It hasn't changed, food amazing and huge servings. A real authentic Greek experience. Can't wait for my next visit!

Second time in Auzzie to select Greek Food. What a difference, 1821 was pretend & trendy, Santorini was down to earth, no frills, just great taste & authentic Greek Cooking. By a Greek - Demetrius : he said 'I do it for the love of cooking and not for the money'. The Calamari was BBQ'd and more that we could... More

Dimitri kindly opened up the restaurant for our team lunch on a weekday, and everything was easy from book to menu set. We had a great time and the food was fantastic, and lots of it. From lamb fourno to chargrilled octopus, the grilled halloumi to even the trio of dips. Everything tasted so good and there was so much... More

The meal was delicious. Home-made dips and fantastic platter of mixed meat and seafood cooked to perfection. The wine was a great accompaniment and we enjoyed the lovely repartee with Dimitri, the owner. We have been here before and standard is still outstanding. In fact, we took a doggie bag home as there was far too much to consume. Lovely... More

We went there early for dinner and was the only customers there. The waiter held my active baby who wouldn't want to seat in the high chair so I get to eat in peace. OMG. The cook is also nice and friendly. The food is lovely and seafood are fresh. Highly recommended.

Small Greek restaurant in Surry Hills/Darlinghurst area. One night we had salmon - large portion that we actually had to wait a few extra minutes after we ordered for fresh salmon to be delivered. On another night we split the Kota Melitzana which was Chicken Breast pan fried with, Tomato Salsa, Honey, Cumin, Eggplant, Haloumi and served with steamed Asparagus.... More

This is Greek food at its best - we have friends who travel across the city to eat here with us. The seafood is always fresh, and the slow-cooked lamb is to die for,

Really good wholesome food. A BBQ in the front window enticed us in. Friendly faces and a happy atmosphere.

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
