We visited Marigold restaurant whilst staying at the Novotel Central . We found the staff to be very friendly & efficient however our dishes were actually average so our experience overall was slightly disappointing. The restaurant is in need of a refurbishment to to create a more modern ambience.

This is a great noisy place where the most delicious hot tasty yum Cha courses are wheeled past tantalisingly. You really want to reach out and take everything that is swinging by: rice noodles lovingly encasing the best vegetarian mixtures, crunchy spicy octopus, light clouds of pork buns.. And tea, glorious tea! Lots of it, replaced often... Take the family... More

Great for yum cha (dim sum) lunch. Very good service, sometimes a bit of that Cantonese shortness will come out, but overall the staff were pleasant and friendly. Tea was refilled quickly. A bit more expensive than average ($50 for two people, average around town and the burbs is say $20 pp?) and note that they charge for tea even... More

As with most Cantonese dimsum in the western countries, don't expect a menu as extensive as those in the typical yumcha restaurants in HK. With that in mind, this place serves generally satisfying dimsum rolled out in carts. Fairly reasonable prices too. For lunch, if you need some carbo, can wait a while for the cart with steamed rice to... More

Dropped in here for dinner on a Sunday night. A smart establishment, the place was quite busy -but we were served with almost military efficiency. It felt quite rushed, as the mains were served when I was still eating the starter. The food was ok, if a bit greasy and went cold quickly. The complimentary fruit at the end was... More

Enjoyed marigold, a couple of dishes that should have been hot were only warm though. We were on level four this time, which doesn't feel as nice as level five I have to say. Food came quickly $85 for two adults and a tween, about average.

Yum cha on a Saturday....not the quietest time to go I know. The place was packed and noisy...and I can understand that but do the waiters need to throw the dirty dishes around and create more noise? Yum cha was average without being exceptional, and the variety could have been better....and why ask for a tip when the service is... More

Had lunch here and paid over $50 for 2 people for 4 dishes. Food was average and we thought it quite expensive. Did not select anything out of the ordinary but It seems like mostly everything was XL when it came time for the lady to stamp our card. I don't believe there is anything that is S (small) or... This is old school yum cha just like in HK - trolleys, crowded, loud, rude staff, quick turnover, hit and miss food. Some of the dishes are great - some best left on the trolley. Go early when things are still fresh - I am sure by 1pm many of those dumplings have been circling tables for 2 hours... Go... More
