I was actually quite surprised with my recent visit. My schnitzel and potato salad were actually very good (just pricey)! Very loud with the band but lots of fun.

The pork Knuckle is second to none & the servings are generous. However, it's super noisy and then on top of a cavern filled with people and the sounds coming from the kitchen they add a german folk band! The band was great but on...More

Great German beer & food. Generous portions. Live music & good atmosphere. The pork knuckle is a must. You can order half portion or whole.

I was born in sydney to a German mother. Oh those Germans! This place is a great place to have a German Beer or food and the rocks area is always bankable. Highly recommended

Visited with my family on recommendation from another family member. Food was delicious (although not a huge amount of choice if you are a vegetarian!) as was the beer. Selection of wines, cocktails and soft drinks available for non-beer fans too. We enjoyed the food,...More

Great atmosphere, good staff. However, the food and drink are outrageously expensive for what they are. $25 for 2 sausages and sauerkraut? Having lived in Germany, you could feed a village with sausages for that! The beers aren't cheap either. Highchairs had belts, but no...More

We have tryed different restaurants in Sydney, but somehow, we always end up at Lowenbrau . So while waiting for VIVID light show to start, it was nice to sit down for late lunch, early dinner. Once again, the whole atmosphere was very inviting. We...More

A good, cold pint of dunkle (dark or brown) lager, great schnitzel, with red cabbage and potato salad...all perfectly served. Place was packed for lunch as food is great and beer is cold! They have a good selection of authentic schnapps too! I saw the...More

My husband and I visited for a long overdue and eagerly anticipated pork knuckle lunch. The service was slow, unresponsive and the food was just awful. My husband needed the litre of beer, just to assist in swallowing the extremely dry meat. The waitress was...More

I am from Germany but live in the USA. It is so sweet when people recommend a German restaurant when I travel. Well, the Lowenbraeu Keller brought a taste of home. and did not disappoint at all. Our waiter made a valiant effort to speak...More

The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and
sailors from the old nation. As the oldest
neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone
streets host more than 100 heritage sites and
buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney,
Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi
“ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the
waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The

Housed in a stone, heritage-listed building, in the heart of The Rocks, Munich Brauhaus is the place to be if you're looking for a range of thirst quenching (unpronounceable) Bavarian craft beers. This historic venue has had a makeover, morphing into a refreshed, more modern version of its former self - meaning the haus party just got bigger and better! While there is a strong emphasis on beer, the authentic Bavarian style menu also sets tongues wagging. The Munich-style restaurant and bar will transport you straight to Germany with their traditional dishes and female waiters dressed in traditional Dirndl dresses (settle down boys, we know you're excited!). Famed for its stellar selection of hand-crafted burgers and haus-made hot dogs, this venue has all the key ingredients to draw a crowd - and has no trouble doing so - night, after night, after night. Prost!
