Delicious, creative Thai food. The pork hock and yam bean salad were especially good. The waiter we ordered from was helpful and kept us from over-ordering -- much appreciated as the place is not cheap. The communal table concept is potentially annoying, but we were...More

Longrain used to be fantastic, not sure what's gone wrong but they need to fix it! All the entrees tasted the same-overly sweet and bland. Both the fried chicken and pork hock mains were way over cooked and exceptionally dry.Unfortunately there is nothing I can recommend here...More

We will NEVER return to this restaurant again. Sydney is full of fantastic places to eat with good service. Whilst the food was good, the service was not. We are a group of business associates who spend a lot of money eating out and entertaining...More

We booked the private dining area and shared the banquet menu. The food was delicious as was the wine we chose. The service was great and everyone had an enjoyable night.

By recommendation from my colleague who read What Chef eats, we came to this restaurant early without reservation. The place is not prominent in Main Street but a upslope alley. It has large glass panels and it is visible from the street. The seating arrangement...More

The staff is very friendly and helped us compose a wonderful dinner. We had a refreshing salad as a starter, a tasty curry, the caramelized pork and some marvelous duck together with a tassy wine. Best cuisine we had down under so far!

Longrain Sydney is located at 85 Commonwealth St in Surry Hills. Inspired by the communal eating philosophy of the Asian table, our menu is made up of dishes created for sharing. Longrain's menu has evolved from Martin Boetz's original Longrain vision, bringing South East Asian influences to carefully sourced ingredients with fresh, zingy flavours. His vibrant menu is carefully balanced with wines and cocktails chosen by restaurateur Sam Christie. Our long, shared tables encourage the spirit of eating together, so you can try each dish as part of a full tasting experience, just as it was intended (limited reservations available). Book one of our individual tables for parties between 6 - 10 people; or Private Dining Room for 12-18 guests.
