Our family group of 4 enjoyed a leisurely dinner to celebrate a birthday.
The menu is not extensive, however it is new daily to showcase the freshest in season fare.
The service was friendly & helpful & not intrusive.
We shared 3 starter courses & each had a main course & shared 2 dessert courses. They delivered a complimentary birthday candle in a rich chocolate fondant at the end of the dinner .... nice touch!
With 2 glasses of Moet & Chandon Champagne & a bottle of zesty Kevin Judd Marlborough NZ Sauvignon wine the total lunch cost was AUD120 / person, ...... so very good value.

Having been impressed with the food at Flying Fish in a previous location I was looking forward to my seafood lunch. Unfortunate the meal was disappointing.
Potato cakes, with creme fraiche, spanner crab on toast and prawn toast were all pleasant enough starters without being special. We both had the charcoal roasted Moreton Bay Bug for mains. A small piece of bug meat was swamped
in a unpleasant green source (not mentioned on the meu) and rather stodgy and many cheese dumplings which did not add anything to the tastes of the bug. It was supposed to be served with anchovy butter but I could not taste the anchovy at all. In addition, the cost of $52 was exorbitant for what was served up. The passionfruit parfait with burnt meringue was - like the entrees, pleasant enough but nothing special.

We had the set menu at $90 per person. The courses were just delectable. We started with complimentary coconut bread. The prawn toast had a slight crunch and the prawn topping was just delicious. I wished I had more.
The main of crispy salmon and moreton bay bug was generous and so enjoyable.
We finished off with the chocolate cremeux and the buttermilk diplomat.
Service was really professional. The staff was exceptionally good. The courses came at even space of time, allowing us to savour each course. The courses were described and explained. Water was topped up regularly.
Ask for a window seat, if possible.

I visited Flying Fish for a special occasion and for a play at the theatre as well. I was well taken care of by the waitress by the name of Truc. Very polite and very well mannered, she also gave us very good recommendations and details about all the menu items when we asked for it. The food was spectacular and left us wanting more and more! Thank you for giving us such great service, Truc!

I cannot thank Flying Fish enough for the amazing birthday dinner experience they organised for me and my partner for his birthday. I spoke to (who I presume was) the manager a week or two before my boyfriends birthday, and he got the chef to create a personal 5 course (more like 9 course though) menu for us, where the menu even had happy birthday printed on it. We were welcomed with complimentary glasses of Moët and enjoyed amazing food and cocktails throughout the dinner. My partner was so Impressed and surprised with the personal touch of the custom menu and great service, which is exactly what I wanted for his surprise birthday dinner! We can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I went to the Flying Fish restaurant for the first time last Friday, we ordered 2 entree, a side salad and 2 main dishes to share, need less to say we did not get to order desserts. The food was very nice and the service by Ana was exceptional attention to details and the uplifting engaging energy had made us booked in for dinner this week to have the recommended dessert. This time, we did not have Ana looking after us but half way through our main course, Ana walked passed and recognized us, although busy with her work Ana took a moment out to have a quick chat and offered us complimentary dessert wine/beverage which went perfectly with our Strawberry & Rhubarb dessert! Thanks Ana next time we will make our bookings direct with Stefano.

I dined in Flying Fish for lunch about a year and a half ago now and there was no particular reason I never returned but last night I did for dinner service and WOW!!! From the moment I walked in I was amazed at the attention to detail from the COVID marshal to the section waitress to the managers and the chefs! Chef Peter went around and personally brought out dishes to many of the guests dining and I was in awe at how impeccable the service from the Flying Fish team was. I've already booked to return next week. I wish I asked my section waitress for her name, she was outstanding!

I took my family on a Tuesday night to have dinner. We had heard of flying fish but never been. To say we were surprised and impressed is an understatement. From the service to the amazing food we were so delighted my 11 year old daughter tried foods she never has and opened her eyes to new experiences. We had an absolutely fabulous evening and would recommend flying fish to anyone who loves amazing food great wine and even better service

We dined here for our anniversary and had a truly beautiful experience. Everything from the moment we arrived until we finished was perfect, the food was amazing, all dishes created to perfection, flavours bursting and each dish catered for our individual tastes. Day 4 of our 6 at Adina Surry Hills and we were off for lunch at The Star. Having joined the Star Club when we booked the restaurant a few weeks before, we picked up the membership card at the casino. With the card were several vouchers including A $50 voucher for Flying Fish. With the 10% member card discount too, a total of $94 came off the bill.
Our table on the window provided a great view of the boat activity on the harbour and the very friendly and attentive service from Jackie was one of the highlights of our lunch. A very funny guy.
We started with a Bloody Sour for her and a very dry Tanqueray martini for me. Entrees were the sashimi selection, the prawn toast and the crab cocktail - all excellent. We both had the snapper curry for mains with a side of asparagus. Another great dish and our bottle of Penfolds Bin 311 chardonnay went very well with it. There was no room for dessert but we finished with another martini for me and an espresso martini for her. A most enjoyable meal.
An added bonus to this visit was that, on the way out, she wanted a quick flutter on the pokies. First push of the button, she won $80 so we called it a day at that and grabbed a taxi back to Surry Hills.
One odd thing - when we ordered our wine, we were advised that they couldn't bring it to the table until we'd finished our cocktails. Apparently, it's a casino thing, something to do with responsible service of alcohol. It wasn't a big deal but she usually likes to linger over her cocktail during the meal and it just seemed an odd rule in a restaurant.

This was our first experience at Flying Fish and it was perfect. From the roll on arrival to the cocktails, the seafood platter and the dessert it was all delicious. Let’s hope you’re lucky enough to get Anna serving your table as she was a delight. We will definitely be back.

Service was excellent from the start
Our wait person was excellent and as were the other staff who attended to us.The food had great flavours we had the cavatelli with scallops and bbq prawns For entree
We weren’t rushed before we had the mains of swordfish and snapper two great dishes .
Again the service good and the food excellent
A restaurant we will come back to.

We dined at the Flying Fish for dinner and it was sensational. The food was incredible and the service was outstanding. One of the wait staff, Anna, went above and beyond for us and ensured all our needs were catered for without a fuss. She made our night a dining experience we’ll never forget. From the time we arrived to the time we left the service was "First Class". They looked after all our needs and even when they were a little slow with a drink order they were very apologetic. The food is wonderful, we had the "Set Menu" and the prawn toast is just amazing. At the end of the meal they asked about our day and we told the waiter it was our 30th Anniversary today. Within minutes we had a beautiful plate arrive with a small chocolate cake and “Happy 30th Anniversary” on it.
This was a truly wonderful experience and I would recommend to anyone who loves good food and amazing service. Thank you Flying Fish.

They are always great. The service by Ana is always outstanding. We ordered a bottle of wine for our meal and she was always on top of when it needed filling without the need to be asked! The food was great and dessert a dream!
