About
Kitchen closes at 3pm Monday - Friday & 3:30pm on weekends. Social Brew Cafe - something of an oasis of good food and drinks in Pyrmont. Where, let’s face it, the cafe options aren’t as abundant as one would like. Which isn’t to say we’d just head there out of necessity; Social Brew Cafe is a stylish spot, with great service, as well as that aforementioned delicious feed. In the main cafe space, dark walls and hanging lights give Social Brew an industrial, stylish feel. Splashes of red, as well as big windows that open up onto the verandah and trees outside however, give proceedings a welcoming, friendly, relaxed air. Speaking of the “verandah”, outside is where you’ll want to be when the weather’s good and you’ve got a posse together to congregate over a smoothie, or a coffee, or a plate full of pancakes and bacon. Or, let’s face it, all of the above. Social Brew Cafe is found on Harris Street in Pyrmont, just a short walk from Darling Harbour.

As I'm allergic to eggs, breakfast menus are often a bit of a problem. Here I chose several sides-bacon, hash brown, tomato & feta. When they came out, not only was every element very good to eat, but the cook had taken the trouble to convert them into a real meal-added some greens, seasoning on the feta. Very few cafes take the trouble to do that. The cafe has a very vibe nice ambience, staff were well-trained and very professional, prices were normal. Highly recommended!

The coffee is excellent, the portions are huge and everything is delicious and freshly prepared. It’s a shame it’s on such a busy road junction when most tables are outside but the queues outside are testament to the quality of the fare. It was so good we went back later in the day for seconds!

We had brunch on a Sunday at the Social Brew Cafe; we had booked ahead and that was a good move as the cafe was full and there was a queue (about 15-20min wait). They do, however, turn over tables quickly. The wait staff were friendly, very efficient and helpful. You got a sense this was a happy place. The menu has all day breakfast options and a good selection of lunch options (also available all day). The eggs on sourdough were generous (we had scrambled and poached) and the side of bacon plentiful. The ricotta hotcakes with strawberry and maple syrup were a highlight as was the slow cooked lamb tagine served with grilled zucchini, chickpea couscous, labne and crispy flatbread. The only meal that was probably a little on the small side was the wagyu beef burger. It would have been a little bigger and more interesting but this is a very small criticism. We would highly recommend the Social Brew Cafe if you are in Pyrmont.

This cafe has lovely staff that are very well trained at hospitality, but when I ordered there there was a mix up in the kitchen and they lost our docket, we were left sitting for 40minutes waiting for food that wasn’t even being made. We went and checked on our order and found out this had happened, we got a refund that wasn’t even worth the food. Besides that it was a lovely designed cafe and was kept clean.

We stayed at an AirB&B in Pyrmont on a two day girls outing near the Fish Market. We were walking towards Haymarket and saw this little cafe which was full of people and decided to give it a go. We had a scrumptious breakfast which was value for money. I highly recommend the medley of mushroom Bruschetta. Another friend had the pancakes. The next day we again ended here and they had smoked salmon on flat bread which my friend ordered. I asked if I could have mushrooms instead and they obliged. The wait staff were great, friendly and helpful, special mention to Nikki. I raved it to my husband when I got home and can’t wait to take him there soon. What a gem of a discovery.

I eat here on most weekends. The food is great, especially the hotcakes, the Loaded Double Double, The Brew Deli Board. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! The service is always good and you never have to wait longer than 15 - 20 for a table. Love this place!

After discovering how much breakfast in our Hotel would cost, we did a search online for breakfast and found Social Brew Cafe only 4 minutes walk from our accommodation. The staff were friendly and the breakfast we chose was affordable and delicious. The Coffee was of a good quality and not burnt so happy to recommend to other budget conscious customers.

Lively busy place. Good location. We had a simple breakfast for two - my partner's meal was fine but my toast was a little burnt on the edges and my eggs were overcooked. She gave it four stars, I gave it two - so average three. Staff were competent, menu options were good. Coffee was alright.

The coffees are very good and the breakfast dishes are some of the best in Sydney. All of the breakfasts are very substantial. The mushroom bruschetta is my favorite meal. The restaurant uses excellent sourdough bread and a nice medley of mushrooms with the a delicious truffle flavor. The creme fraiche is creamy and goes perfectly with the dish. The pancakes are also amazing and light and fluffy. The double double is very cheesy and a bit rich but still good. The toasted banana bread is amazing and the caramel butter was some of the best I have had. For a simpler meal, the eggs and toast is also very good as the bread used is amazing and n idly toasted and many options for sides are available. The juices are all fresh and very good good as well. The watermelon one is a favorite.

Nice staff and service. Location is good with outside tables as well. For the menu would be great to have more vegan options, as its a spot where everyone would love to go. Plant based milks available. I recommend you to register your restaurant on "happy cow" so that vegan/vegetarians know that you have options :)

Ok, I maybe biased but I have eaten here many times but the CM is consistently stunning. Humbly titled the Loaded Double Double simply means bring a step ladder. A perfectly soft poached egg oozing goodness down 4 layers of ham and the classic béchamel sauce. A dollop of molten cheese running down the side too...OMG...TDF The perfect side order would be truffle parmesan mushrooms...I need a bigger belt! Never the this bad-boy off the menu.

We just finished breakfast here and it was exceptionally good. We had the Eggs Benedict with Truffle Hollandaise sauce. It was the best eggs benny I've ever had. Served on brioche with a generous amount of ham, perfectly cooked eggs and the most delicious real Hollandaise... not the dreadful bottled type! And a little side of crispy fried kale. Perfect!! My husband had the very generously sized breakfast roll. He loved it. Coffee was very good and we are true coffee snobs. Great value at $46 for both of us. Good alfresco area next to a grassy area. A short walk from Darling Harbour. Can highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We went back again on Sunday after enjoying a great brunch with good sized portions from an eclectic menu, delicious coffee, great tea selections and speedy and friendly service on Saturday. Minutes walk away from the Pyrmont Bridge and the Australian National Maritime Museum. Highly recommend this indoor/outdoor café!!

You know why this is the most popular cafe around this area, and no, not because it's one of the fewer cafes on this locality but the coffee they serve is GREAT. Absolutely loved the cold brew they serve. Out of the food the smoked salmon was a bit disappointing for the way it was described on the menu...lacked the quality of being exceptional. Also, we couldn't taste any Zatar in it The Mediterranean Lamb stew was out of this world. If we had our way we would definitely rate it at 4.5 /5 for everything including a very pretty and friendly attendant who found us a spot sooner than usual....and gave us the best service.
