Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located between Town Hall & Central stations, this eatery serves delicious Northern & Indian food at good value. I have the chicken stuffed dosa & my friend a vegetarian thali & very happy with both choices. Reasonably priced wines by the glass can be purchased too. Helpful and personable wait staff are happy to assist. Highly recommended for a quick and tasty meal. Do try!

Masala Bowl is an Indian restaurant. The tour operator arranged lunch at the restaurant on December 25. We were taken for dinner also to this restaurant. The dishes were not very admirable. However, they served with care and modesty. In ‘Masala Bowl’, the masalas (spices) were controlled. The dished were palatable. Buffet system was there. But the waiters were vigilant. Observing my dependency on walking stick, they asked me seat and tell the preparations I like. The restaurant has wash room. But they supplied vessel with warm water on table for me. This was an exceptionally noticeable act in their part. This was observed by tour mates.

Masala Bowl was a bad experience 943990351 We've been to this restaurant three times, twice when it was on the other side of the street and one time when it had just moved and did not have a liquor licence. We loved it but not this time. Other diners were served with water. For some reason we weren't. We had to ask. I did not like the rule on the menu for Thali meals, Strictly no Sharing. The restaurant is telling me who I can share my to be paid for food with? We were so looking forward to a Thali meal each, but after eventually attracting a waitress's attention to order our meal, the Thali meals weren't available. How disappointing. We had been talking weeks ago about Thali meals. Under pressure, we quickly chose other from the menu but still our drinks had not arrived, some twenty minutes later. I was starting to get very annoyed. I went to the bar counter to ask about our drinks and still they did not come, 'Coming soon, Sir'. I said to my partner once back at the table, 'I can't remember walking out of a restaurant, but I think we should'. He readily agreed and we had a very nice Thai meal elsewhere. Masala Bowl might be ok for those with a similar nationality to the staff, but by our experience it was not for people like us. So disappointing.

This place is one of the most popular go to places for lunch amongst office goers in city, and this is true for crowd beyond Indians. The good is usually good, with few inconsistant instances. Over all, it is definitely value for money, specially the lunch menu.

This little place had awesome food and personnel service. I don’t eat chili and they hot it right. The restaurant was a little untidy, there was a spill that was cleaned up, left a large sticky spot right beside our table.

The place is so lovely & colorful with the decor. We had the Butter Chicken & Lamb Vindaloo with Garlic Naan. We also had the white wine Pinot Gris, which was lovely. The wait staff were very polite. The food was delicious. We’ll be back!

Good selection of dishes with lots of tasty vegetarian options. When we ate there the clientele was mostly Indian which is always a good sign. Recommended!

If you like your Dosas doughy and non-crispy, then this restaurant is a must visit. For me, it was the worst Dosa I have ever eaten in my life.

We showed up for dinner here a few nights ago. Ordered Chole Bhature, Chicken Biryani, Gobi 65 n Mango lassi...we ate heartily n still had some left. Good attention from the staff members tht work there. Quantity 5 stars; Quality 4 stars - there was something missing in the taste. Will come back when next in Sydney. Thanks!

The food tasted good and more than that the service was above and beyond the call of duty. They were eager to satisfy the customers all the time. I will recommend this place to anyone longing for Indian food.
