We went here on New Year's eve during our trip to Sydney. I was amazed by the interior decorations - loved every art. The restaurant was not as busy as we expected however, they had reservations for later in the evening. The service was quick ( wouldn't say the nicest). We were exhausted by walking in the city the entire day, so weren't much bothered by the minimalistic talks of the server. The food came in quick - we had some steamed and fried momos for starters and they were amazing. We ordered vegetarian thali set for the mains and it was simply elegant. I loved the simplicity of the food. Most of the Nepalese restaurants I have been to I have always found a lack of authenticity in the food and the dishes are mostly altered to fit the taste of the majority. The "kaalo daal" in the thali set reminded me of the simplicity of our country and its cuisine. I would definitely visit it every time I am in Sydney. Keep up the good work! (adding on, their mocktails are great too)

Muglan is hands down the best restaurant in Sydney in my opinion. Every dish you order is so tasty, the service is friendly and wuick, prices reasonable. I eat here every time I’m in Sydney; for lunch and dinner today.

...its a nepalese restaurant serving nepalese and indian food, so if you want nepalese flavors , its authentic and tasty and good, i tried the nepali thalis and they are tasty, only downside is some vegetables portion they serve is way less than your normal thali. Went for dinners. I saw lots of people ordering indian dishes as well so must be good.

Let me start with good side.
Ambiance was perfect, every small art and decor perfectly resemble back home. FOH staff were good but could be better .
The Two main thing Muglan lack is proper management of team and the portion of food according to the price rate.
They really need to improve on mobilisation of the staff and review their food. Every time there is new member to take order which create the confusion. In food section What I believe is at least 15$ Served must be sufficient for a person.
Anyways feel proud what you guys being doing in foreign land. Wish you best for the future .
Good luck

You guys really really need to work on your portion of food.
I ordered a mains paneer chilli and I had 7 pieces of cottage cheese
No I’m not kidding. I literally could count it. I don’t know if I should laugh or complain.
When you pay a mains size you expect a mains size! Who’re we kidding?

I’m a big fan of Indian cuisine. I ordered a thali (with the usual mix of dishes) & garlic naan takeaway. Without a doubt the daal was the worse I’ve ever tasted (resembled dirty water, very watery in texture and flavourless, with the few lentils a fine mush). As for the “garlic” naan, also lacking any flavour not least of all garlic. Not recommended.

Felt like Indian on the last night of a quick trip to Sydney and this restaurant was handy to our accommodation. It had pretty good reviews, and did not disappoint. A couple of reviewers complained about meal portions, but we certainly didn’t leave hungry. Quite possibly the best korma I’ve ever had! Will definitely revisit when next in Sydney.

We were looking for a place to have dinner after a long day and stumbled on the gem. It looks small from the outside but opens up at the back. The food was rich and tasty. I had a mild dish and my husband had a spicy chicken dish. Both dishes had plenty of depth of flavour. It was obvious the food was prepared by chefs who love their work.

I grew up with a Nepali mum, so I have a little experience of Nepali food. I loved this restaurant's food and the service was warm and friendly - just right, not too much. The decor was beautiful. I will be going again - as often as I can manage.

Very bad service. No attention on the table. Be ready to help yourself. If you are in middle of a meal and want to order an extra roti, be prepared to wait at least 20 min. The kitchen doesn’t understands the concept of running order. Waitress seemed to be in too much of a hurry. You have to always ask for attention. No one will come on your table to take your order by default.

Had the traditional Thali. Most dishes were lovely particularly the goat curry. The chutneys and pickles were great. The lentils could have been better but on a whole it was a very enjoyable meal. The service was very good, the staff were very polite and attentive.

This was the first time we have been here. Its a nice atmosphere but a bit windy. They have to keep closing the front door. I had ordered a Himalaya Mocks (a mocktail). It was very good, unfortunately the paper straw could not cope with passionfruit pulp and seeds :-)
We had samosa chaat, which was large and yummy. We had Aloo Venta (Potato and Eggplant) and Rato Bhale Tarkari (Chicken curry). Both were tasty, they were seasoned well. I felt that the portion size was small, but it didnt affect us. The rotis weren't too bad.
We had ordered medium, the curries were on the hot side, but this is so subjective. We would go again.

This place really surprised us. Food was absolutely delicious. Great for vegetarians. Staff were very helpful when providing us with details of the dishes. Really nice atmosphere and it was busy for a Thursday evening. Recommend visiting if your in the area.

Not the long ago the southern end of King St in Newtown used to real 'cheap and cheerful' territory. That is definitely changing, and maybe quickly. The Mulgan is one such improvement in the area: in the the food and its presentation, the decor, the ambience ... and their prices reflect this too. A group of us had a very good meal here on a wet and windy Sunday night. It was miserable outside but very cosy in the restaurant. The service was excellent and we liked all the meals. Definitely the highlight for me though was the momos - steamed and also fried. Very, very tasty!

Had a meal here on the last night if a holiday, we were not disappointed!
Buffalo momos followed by a shared tandoori platter. Absolutely delicious and left a wonderful flavour in our mouths. Any future visits to Sydney we will go back.
