Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Endless options for cocktails. The bartenders are great. A must visit when in the area. Highly recommend the Baxter Inn.

Fantastic place for drinks. Really likes their house cocktails including the smokey joes, nighthawk, ventura and headlight. The premium cocktails are great too.

The bar is well located with good vibes and music. However, there is generally terrible service amongst bartenders. They put up a facade of greeting every new customer, but the bartenders are arrogant with no niceties observed (unless you're female). Bartenders have no smiles and...no conversations to offer. Would recommend to go to Old Mates' Place on the opposite street instead.More

Gorgeous bar with great vibes and the old skool music was hugely appreciated. Perfect sultry lighting for ambience, great for a group of friends or a date for sure. Huge whiskey selection, heard its one of the best whiskey bars in the city. Most impressed...with the underground feel, nice escapism and lovely drinks.More

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the mystique of getting to the venue. Love the pretzels. Has a billion whiskies but just as good to have a gin or a beer.

Now if you're lucky enough to know about this place, and even luckier to find it, then you are in for an epic night. The entrance is quite unique and feels like a dirty secret, but boy is the reward a big pay off. Once...going through the door you're then transported to what feels like the prohibition era. This beautiful candle lit bar, the mixologists are dressed up, the wall of whisky is gob smacking, it's just amazing, the thought and detail put into this place is shocking, even down to the bowl of pretzels. Yes the prices can be a little off putting, but worth it on the atmosphere alone. Highly recommend this hide outMore

Fun speakeasy with great staff and a fun vibe. We made sure to be there early like 4:30 and by 6 pm, it was a full house and this was on a weekday. Drink selection is overwhelming but fun and exciting to just randomly pick...something new to try. The staff were so awesome, friendly, and helpful. It's a true speakeasy and you have to work to find it, but worth the effort!More

After a fabulous dinner nearby a friend suggested we pop into his favourite bar, but at 8.30 at night we had to line up to get in, eventually we were given the thumbs up to enter, but the basement bar was packed to the rafters....With an amazing selection of whisky’s on show, but barely any standing room, we unfortunately left without a drink!More

Don’t bother going here, it’s ok inside but the doorman is on a power trip and ruins the experience. Shame and not worth the effort.

Discovered this place while staying in Sydney for 8 days and the team could not have been more welcoming and friendly, especially as I was on my own. Fabulous selection of cocktails and so accomodating with my off menu requests. Would highly recommend anyone visiting...to stop by and check it out. Even if you don't like whisky (like me, sorry guys!) There is plenty of other stuff to choose from. Miss you all already and cannot wait to come back!More

Absolutely the coolest & sketchiest entrance I’ve ever seen on a bar. Once your in, the selection of scotch will blow your mind and the staff is eager to please. Either getting you an old favorite or helping discover a new one. The bar is...dark, still half lit by candlelight. It was really busy, standing room only but that was ok as well.More

Everything about it shouts retro speakeasy from a bygone age. Walk down a deserted alleyway, hard right, no sign, dingy steps down to a nondescript door... Superb vibe, superior bartenders, and whisky by the volume. Almost (all?) cocktails can be made by someone there. We...came back each evening during our week in Sydney. The best worst-kept secret in town!More
