The place is beautiful and quiet. You can make peace and enjoy your time there. The food used to be better than now, but the portions have changed and the quality has dropped compared to two years ago. You do not feel that you are getting the value of your money. We used to get the kebab plate but it... More

Our 3rd visit to this Persian outpost in Sydney. What a treat, the flavours are subtle and the meats slow cooked to tender perfection. The staff are welcoming and enthusisticly knowledgable about the recipies and recommendations. We tried the lamb neck, superb. Weather permitting, enjoy your meal on the lounges overlooking Sydney Harbour. A hidden gem, don't miss it.

If you're looking for authentic and delicious Persian food , the Persian room would be the right place for you to try ! It's in a quiet corner of the pier decorated beautifully in Persian style . We tried their special appetizer which was stuffed eggplant with lamb which was delicious. As our main course we ordered my favorite Persian... More

They have moved to a new location next to Pyrmont wharf, quiet but relaxing outdoor seating and a very festive, warm interior complete with Persian crockery, tea and Rosewater. We shared everything and had a great time trying all these new flavours. The 4 hour slow cooked eggplant was a standout, smokey, creamy a bit spicy from the garlic and... More

We found this through the entertainment book by pure luck. We ordered diffrrent dishes and shared. Being for that part of the world I appreciated the most but my wife and kids also enjoyef the cuisine.

Having visited 3 times over 1-2 years, this pretty pyrmont place has always been fun, interesting and the food has been great. The hostess/owner is pure gold, and gives a good sense of what being a Persian emigre is all about - I'll have whatever she's having! The eggplant dip and the kubiday are both exceptional, and as far as... More

I loved the decor and the food. I hope someday I can go back and eat there again. The service was excellent. Try their "tadig" (crispy rice or bread). It is so good.

Good rice . Good kebabs. A little slice of Persia atmosphere. It was the best kebab & rice during my holiday in Australia. Bread not so good.

When we visited, we were the only customers for an early lunch. We all enjoyed the food and service was fine- none of the problems identified in some reviews. We chose dishes which I believe may be typical of home cooked dishes- meats cooked for a long time with interesting spices and fruit (such as dates) or vegetables and served... More

The home feel decor and ambience might not be for everyone - but at times I like some good honest food, great service and the gregarious atmosphere that come with these taverna kind of places. At the Persian room. I did not get this. Despite the owner being a very nice man, the service was slow, the food ok but... More
