My wife and I visit Sydney (three hours' drive away from our home) about every two months. We usually stay overnight in the Pyrmont/Darling Harbour area because there is so much to see and do there. This weekend was no exception, and we stayed at the newly-renovated Astral Tower (excellent room). On Saturday night, we went into our favorite restaurant... More

Got the opportunity to experience the breakfast buffet, we were very eager and looking forward to it due to the hype and reputation of Sokyo. However, we had mixed feelings about the place. The service, presentation and atmosphere was amazing. Spot on. Words could not describe it. In terms of food choices at the buffet was very limited. We found... More

Sokyo is probably one of my all time favourite restaurants!! The flavours are so intense and delicious! My favourite would have to be the wagyu tataki and pickled scallops! Service is lovely, very professional. It is pricey but definitely worth it. I've been here a number or times and always look forward to going back.

Sokyo whilst located in the Darling hotel, has a great mood, awesome cocktail bar and awesome service to go with the excellent taste of Japanese cuisine. A regular for me on the fine dining list without the price tag of its competitors!

Main ingredients and presentation is Japanese but everything was just a little bit different from the Pork skewers with apple and wasabi sauce to the duck. This was several weeks ago now so don't remember exactly what we ate yet the overall impression has remained. The fusion twists were exquisitely done. It's not part of the casino but part of... Here's a place that Sydney really meets Tokyo, serving Japanese food in Aussie sounding name & style The most memorable dishes for me were the Sashimi Platter (AUD60) & Queensland Sushi Roll (AUD22). The Sashimi Platter served the freshest & sweetest sashimi ever with 4 sauces to dip from. Queensland is one of Sokyu's specialty Sushi Roll made from spanner... More

I love to come here with my family, we celebrate all our birthdays here because the food is just fantastic! My favourite dishes are the Tuna Cripsy Rice Nigiri and the Kingfish Miso Ceviche but everything else is awesome too. The only negative is I find sitting on the chairs a bit uncomfortable so I always ask for a booth... More
