The food quality is ok. Nothing to shout about. However the showmanship was good. The games was so fun, the atmosphere was so good. Everyone who is game enough is bound to enjoy themselves

My partner and I arrived and was sat at the grill but we were by ourselves, so it wasn't the best start. But we could see everyone was enjoying themselves so we were excited. That was until our chef arrived, I know everyone has bad...days, but geez this guy had the sad's. He didn't introduce himself or even say hello, just started cooking. There was little to no interaction except when asked a question we usually got a one or two word answer. And then we noticed that while he was cooking, there was dribble coming from his mouth onto the grill. That is just unacceptable. And anyone who's been to a tepanyaki gill before, you go for the show, but there was no flair or entertainment. We had our backs turned and was watching the other grills more than our own (mostly so I didn't witness more drool into my food), which should be a clear indication that you need to lift your game. Not to mention the price, wow, $80 a head with no drinks, and was still hungry at the end.More
Where do I start? Worst Teppanyaki I’ve ever experienced. 4 of us, 4 set menus, 2 beers and 2 lemonades = $400. Portions were so small. Sashimi course was 2 small pieces of salmon. 6 small pieces of chicken and same for the beef. Freezing...breeze coming through the back door they refused to close. So cheesy, Happy B’day every 5 minutes. It was like a drunk hens night. If we’d paid $30pax I’d understand. Do NOT go. If you’re a first timer to Teppanyaki, please keep in mind, this is NOT Teppanyaki. More like TeppanYUCKY!More
Overall had a great time celebrating the night with friends - with a couple of suggestions to make: == The good: We enjoyed being entertained - catching pieces of fried egg, catching a bowl of fried rice. Service overall was pretty good. Very reactive as...they clean up quickly to ensure table space and to keep the floor clean. == Things that could improve: They seem to ask for tips in a way that they were expecting it the whole time. Unusual for Australian dining. I felt pressured to give more than I was planning to. Some of the food was a bit overcooked. I suppose the dining experience was more about the entertainment than the food quality. Prices are definitely above average for teppanyaki in Sydney. The interior was quite cramped, and therefore very noisy and difficult to move around. The toilets are tiny as a side effect to this. Looks like they tried to fit as many customers in the restaurant as possible.More
Warm welcome at the door, fast drinks service, chef was lovely and food was delicious all around great night out.
The meal was uncomfortable because of the heat. Hot day. Many hot plates. Uncomfortable dinner. Drinks: overpriced. Very slow delivery, cocktails arriving 30mins after order, we’ll into meal. Some were Luke warm. Served in plastic glasses. Food: average at best. Steak was tough. Chicken was...good. Fish was basa fillet. Fried rice well over cooked bordering on inedible. Skill of cook: my guess was this woman’s first time. Our table had far less fun than others. She couldn’t throw so food was catchable. Only threw while egg and bowl of rice. No meat. No omelette. I won’t ever go back. If I were you i wouldn’t go.More
Food was good and fresh but properly the worse teppanyaki I've been too. I booked a large table. We were forced to sit in one line. Dinner started 40 minutes late and were asked to leave 2 hours after booking (even though they were late)....Food courses came out wrong order. Chefs very boring. If you're after entertainment this is NOT the place. I regret booking my birthday here. To top it off they asked for a tip when I was paying.More
From the moment we entered we were greeted warmly. We had made a booking online, as per the website's recommendation, to guarantee availability. The set menu was clear, with a discount for kids 12 and under. They get noodles instead of seafood. Chef Kenji had...amazing knife and cooking skills. It was great to see what happens in a commercial kitchen - and I learnt some omelette cooking tips! Two families fit around the cooking station. It was our first time watching a Teppanaki demonstration, so there were a few surprises with catching our bowls of fried rice! You could opt not to, but it was fun! Lots of applause for those that did, from staff and the other families watching. The cooked food was sumptuous and the salad tasty. Spoon and elegant chopsticks were given, with forks available on request. Full bar menu with table service. The waitresses were prompt with orders and flying food clean-up! We were impressed with the whole experience. Suitable for all ages so long as you can keep little hands away from the heat. Centrally located in Chinatown near the light rail and a brisk walk from Central Station. We loved the experience. We'll be back on our next Sydney trip - or can we go again today?More
Good place for friends gathering. Value for money with fresh and yummy food, together with the entertaining tricks performed by the Teppanyaki master. Not just us, but every group of customers were enjoying the moment.
This is a Teppanyaki restaurant - so the usual sit around a grill with everything cooked by the chef. We chose the all seafood menu for about 90 dollars - basically everything from the sea. I think next time I would choose mixed meat and...fish. Lots of entertainment with catching raw eggs in bowls and happy birthday singing ( we seemed the only table who want celebrating a birthday!). Not a place for a quiet meal, but that’s the nature of the place. Great service both from the waitresses and chef.More
This is my first time to try Teppanyaki in Sydney. I was unexpected delight to dine in this restaurant with delicious food, friendly staff, excellent services, and party atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed chatting with the Chef and watching his skilful performance in preparing the food....The whole restaurant is full of joy, happiness and good smelt of food. I will definitely come again and recommend my friend to come with me and their friends. Thanks for bringing me and my wife a wonderful evening!More
What a great night! The food was delicious, service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was very fun. I celebrated my birthday in style with the Hibi Banquet option and then ended the night with the teppan chocolate cake with ice cream, the Happy...Birthday song played on the loud speaker, and staff playing playing instruments to the music! Our chef was personable and extremely talented. We had to catch raw eggs into our bowl, land fried rice into another bowl, and then catch omelette pieces flicked from the teppan straight into our mouths! We loved the experience!More
Staff are rude and unhelpful. Very expensive for what it is- food is ok. Much better places in the area. Would Not recommend
First time at this Restaurant, staff a lot of fun, food excellent. We did a banquet which is the easiest,& there is plenty to eat. They are experts at throwing the food,I was the only one that missed catching the raw egg, but it landed on the floor...& they have a person there to clean it up immediately.Really recommend it.More
HISSHOU TEPPANYAKI, you have to go there!!! It was the most amazing, fun experience I’ve ever had especially being it our first time. They are very welcoming, friendly and funny.
