We walked in and were immediately welcomed by Jessica, who took excellent care of us throughout the meal. We told her that I am coeliac, and she assured us that it was no problem. She then brought me a sign to put in front of me to remind the chef that I needed gf everything. Aki was our teppanyaki chef and he was very talented and entertaining. You have to love a teppanyaki place that has a list of warnings that you have to agree to (clothes may get food on them, etc.). We escaped unscathed. As for the quality of the food, it was excellent. We ordered the $66 pp set menu and it was delicious but way too much food! It included: sesame salad, miso soup, sashimi & tsukudani, king prawn, perch fillet, teriyaki chicken, misoyaki tenderloin steak, fried rice, and teppan veggies. We will be back.

Lots of fun! Recently had dinner here with my adult children. We had the $57 per head banquet which had a good variety, prawns, chicken and beef. Our chef was very entertaining and we had lots of laughs! We highly recommend!

What a great night! The food was delicious, service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was very fun. I celebrated my birthday in style with the Hibi Banquet option and then ended the night with the teppan chocolate cake with ice cream, the Happy Birthday song played on the loud speaker, and staff playing playing instruments to the music! Our chef was personable and extremely talented. We had to catch raw eggs into our bowl, land fried rice into another bowl, and then catch omelette pieces flicked from the teppan straight into our mouths! We loved the experience!

Food was good and fresh but properly the worse teppanyaki I've been too. I booked a large table. We were forced to sit in one line. Dinner started 40 minutes late and were asked to leave 2 hours after booking (even though they were late). Food courses came out wrong order. Chefs very boring. If you're after entertainment this is NOT the place. I regret booking my birthday here. To top it off they asked for a tip when I was paying.

From the moment we entered we were greeted warmly. We had made a booking online, as per the website's recommendation, to guarantee availability. The set menu was clear, with a discount for kids 12 and under. They get noodles instead of seafood. Chef Kenji had amazing knife and cooking skills. It was great to see what happens in a commercial kitchen - and I learnt some omelette cooking tips! Two families fit around the cooking station. It was our first time watching a Teppanaki demonstration, so there were a few surprises with catching our bowls of fried rice! You could opt not to, but it was fun! Lots of applause for those that did, from staff and the other families watching. The cooked food was sumptuous and the salad tasty. Spoon and elegant chopsticks were given, with forks available on request. Full bar menu with table service. The waitresses were prompt with orders and flying food clean-up! We were impressed with the whole experience. Suitable for all ages so long as you can keep little hands away from the heat. Centrally located in Chinatown near the light rail and a brisk walk from Central Station. We loved the experience. We'll be back on our next Sydney trip - or can we go again today?

This is a Teppanyaki restaurant - so the usual sit around a grill with everything cooked by the chef. We chose the all seafood menu for about 90 dollars - basically everything from the sea. I think next time I would choose mixed meat and fish. Lots of entertainment with catching raw eggs in bowls and happy birthday singing ( we seemed the only table who want celebrating a birthday!). Not a place for a quiet meal, but that’s the nature of the place. Great service both from the waitresses and chef.

The meal was uncomfortable because of the heat. Hot day. Many hot plates. Uncomfortable dinner. Drinks: overpriced. Very slow delivery, cocktails arriving 30mins after order, we’ll into meal. Some were Luke warm. Served in plastic glasses. Food: average at best. Steak was tough. Chicken was good. Fish was basa fillet. Fried rice well over cooked bordering on inedible. Skill of cook: my guess was this woman’s first time. Our table had far less fun than others. She couldn’t throw so food was catchable. Only threw while egg and bowl of rice. No meat. No omelette. I won’t ever go back. If I were you i wouldn’t go.

Ena and I had a great time together. This was our first time trying teppenyaki, and it did not disappoint. Our chef, Aki, was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection, and he was very entertaining and friendly. The games that we played were loads of fun. Jessica was our hostess for the evening, and she was an absolute delight from the moment we walked in. She treated Ena and I with such enthusiasm and good humour. And very attentive. Our cold water was being replenished constantly...sometimes even before we were in need of more. Her sense of fun and good humour was infectious. Thankyou, Jessica. Such a lovely evening and a great experience. I can quite honestly say that I have never had so much fun having a meal.

This is my first time to try Teppanyaki in Sydney. I was unexpected delight to dine in this restaurant with delicious food, friendly staff, excellent services, and party atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed chatting with the Chef and watching his skilful performance in preparing the food. The whole restaurant is full of joy, happiness and good smelt of food. I will definitely come again and recommend my friend to come with me and their friends. Thanks for bringing me and my wife a wonderful evening!

We recently visited Hisshou Teppanyaki for my birthday. From the moment we walked in we were well looked after by Jessica and her team who explained the menu to us and promptly brought over our drinks. Our chef Kai was fantastic and also alot of fun. The food was delicious! I so appreciated the surprise birthday dessert and the staff singing Happy Birthday to me. Thank you Hisshou!

We visited this restaurant yesterday evening- what an experience! Absolutely loved it from start to finish. The food was lovely, and perfectly cooked right in front of us. We got the NIKU and HIBISCUS (meat lover). The service was 10/10. We had a chef for just the 2 of us at our table which was a great touch! Our chef was a great entertainer, and also very down to earth. Probably the best teppanyaki I have been to! Would recommend.

The meal was disappointing. Not much flavour and the portions were not what we are used to at Japanese steak houses. But, the entertainment value was pretty good.

With help from the team at Hisshou Teppanyaki, I hosted a great coming-of-age birthday party for my two grandsons. The food was scrumptious and all the guests had a fun time participating in the teppanyaki antics orchestrated by the expert chef. The team made it super easy for me to host the party.
