We had booked the restaurant weeks ago before leaving the UK and were glad that we had. We arrived on monday evening at 7pm and the place was heaving. Upon arrival we said that we had a booking and, after checking, we were asked for proof of ID (in this case we offered a driving licence) which was then scanned! We thought this was a bit OTT just to confirm a booking so we enquired as to the need for the ID - we were informed that it was to allow us access to the adjacent casino (if we so desired) after the meal. A bizarre happening in our experience, especially without a preemptive explanation.
No matter, all was well thereafter as we were shown to our table and were given a run through of the several specials that were in addition to the Al La Carte menu. In the end we opted for a statrer of calamari, with mains of lamb shank and crab linguini - all were delicious, well cooked and well presented. Thereafter, when asked about desserts we initially said no (as we were full) , but the waitress went on to say that both the panna cotta and the tiramisu would be complimentary given that it was our wedding anniversary (noted as the time of booking) . So how could we refuse(!), so we opted for the panna cotta - see photo - which was as good as it gets. So thank you to everyone at Primi for making our event so special.

A true gem in a city that has started to feel like smaller Italy. Lovely restaurant with plenty of classic Italian choices, and a special menu that changes every week. Bruschetta was really good. Bolonese and seafood pasta were also tasty. Pasta was boiled at the perfect temperature. We love tiramisu, we only felt like the bottom had way too much coffee . They have good wine menu, although the waiter's suggestion was good. Reasonably priced. Make sure you make a reservation as it fills up quickly, even on weekdays.
Only minus as you have to go up the stairs for a toilet.
Very good prices
It cost around $160 for an appetizer, two mains, one dessert, two glasses of wine coffee, and one bottle of water.

My family with kids and another family with kids (total 8 people) booked this restaurant. Great table, Great service. We were served by Rosie. Calling her out as dont know if this is normal for all people working there but the service was extra ordinary. Some people were vegetarian, she helped suggest and prepare some customised pastas which were brilliant. Just think the service of this restaurant is amazing and not too pricey. Lovely place! and had a great time.

After reading all the positive reviews, I feel terrible about writing a negative review. My last meal with my children in Australia and we picked here based on reviews. The table was not ready when we arrived, took 15 mins before we were seen to and before we even ordered we were told we had to leave earlier than we booked for. The table was constantly being cleared while we ate, and we were rushed from beginning to end. I saved for so long to come here and for my last night to end like this was appalling. On a positive note the food was amazing, but thats it.

We have been here a few times and you can't fault the food. The service was also excellent. My only issue was after I booked online I received 6 or 7 emails constantly reconfirming my booking for 6 including changing our booking time to an hour earlier. We were happy to oblige for a busy Saturday night. Halfway through our dinner one of our party received a phone call from the restaurant saying we needed to pay a compulsory $70 a head. As we had all ordered our meals we were very confused....it definitely put a dampener on our dinner! Once we sorted the issue , it would have been nice to receive an apology or at least an explanation as to why.
Not sure we'll be back.

We had reserved a table for two at 8:00 p.m. At the time site, we filled out an information sheet - but didn't ask what it was for - and were directed to a table for two with banquette seating and brought the menu and wine list.
Traditional trattoria room with pleasant lighting and tables sufficiently spaced to preserve customer privacy. Beautiful map supplemented by the daily suggestions written on a large slate against the wall. We choose two seafood spaghetti with lobster tail and a bottle of Paladino Pinot Grigio which will serve as an aperitif and accompany our dinner. Good wine, at the right temperature. The bottle will be at our disposal, placed in a standing ice bucket near the table. Excellent spaghetti dishes!
For dessert, we choose two vanilla panna cotta with red fruit coulis: a treat.
Extremely attentive and smiling service.

We came here after Christmas shopping as a walk in and were impressed.
From the start, the host and floor staff were very accommodating and friendly. We were immediately shown a table, even though the restaurant was very busy with a great atmosphere.
The service was excellent from start to finish.
We got the Arancini starter which was delicious. I got the seafood pasta special from the board. I asked for a tomato based sauce from the chef, and that was no issue.
My partner got the margherita pizza, and confirmed it was delicious and perfectly cooked. My seafood pasta was fresh and delicious too. For dessert, we shared the Tiramisu. It was really good and made in the Italian way even with fresh coffee. We shared a bottle of the Pinot Grigio.
We would highly recommend Primi and would come back!

Greeted by very friendly staff and shown to our table. Told of the specials and everything was explained with great knowledge of their menu. Started with an antipasto to share, & a couple of G&T’s, the antipasto was beautifully presented. Our mains then came after we asked for some time in between. I had the Spaghetti Wagyu Bolognaise and my husband had the Risotto Marinara, both cooked to perfection, they tasted delicious. The portion sizes were spot on. Lovely atmosphere and again the staff were all so lovely. Highly recommend.

Wow what a little gem. So glad we booked a table otherwise we would have been disappointed, the restaurant was full even on a Monday evening which is a good sign. The staff were first class, friendly and very attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant itself was well set out and although busy you had space around you and it was spotless. The food… well it’s was worth the visit as it was amazing, great choice and the best we have had since our time in Rome and to be honest better than quite a few in Rome. Would definitely recommend and will be back before our holiday finishes.

Following a Sydney harbour, my family of 4 walked over and were quickly seated and proceeded to have one of the best meals in Australia. Every meal was delicious with Shri and Fer providing exceptional service, making us feel right at home in this very popular establishment.

It’s hard to find restaurants in Sydney city which offer great food, excellent service and value for money without a lot of attitude. Primi Italian does it all and then some. Menu and daily specials cover all tastes from pizza to lobster, entrees, mains and desserts. Their signature dish of Blue Swimmer Crab Ravioli is sublime, but everything is good. It’s a regular haunt for me and my friends.
Lovely wine list, and a ‘wine wall’ showcasing their cellar. Beers, soft drinks etc too.
The staff are fantastic and service is quick and professional - they also know which glasses go with your wine choice.
Best to book as they get really busy.

Ravioli is delicious! It was Sydney's last dinner and I came with my husband with pizza! I had pizza and ravioli, and the pizza is so delicious, but the ravioli is really delicious. The service of muku and boo during the meal was as comfortable as the water flowed and made a happier memory!

The Italian food at this restaurant is so good that I went back twice in one weekend!
As a solo dinner it can be a bit hit or miss whether you will be looked after and receive quality food/service and there are no disappointments here and this was late afternoon around 3pm.
Yes the prices are expensive but this is quality Italian food.
Portion sizes that are just enough to comfortably fit three courses including the Tiramisu which I highly recommend
The only suggestion to improve would be for them to have a Gelato offering which was a bit strange not to have for an Italian restaurant

I ordered an Antipasto and a pizza and was absolutely disgusted by what was charged and what was received.
The Antipasto contained a minuscule amount of olives and processed meat, which cost $25 and could of been bought from Coles for $3.50. I bought takeaway so I didn’t open it until back in my room and now it explains why the food was placed into a paper bag worth more that the food cost.

The pizza was $29 and was smaller than a $5 Dominoes Pizza.
The Dominoes Pizza would have more toppings than a pizza from Primi-Italian, in not sure if York Club really cares what reviews are concerning Primi-Italian but I suggest if attending Primi-Italian for a meal, eat McDonalds before. A least you know what your getting and it will eventually fill you up.
