Location and contact

The Glenmore Hotel was built by Brewers Tooth & Co in 1921 and has been an Aussie icon ever since. It is one of the last surviving pre- Harbour Bridge buildings on Cumberland Street, north of the Cahill Expressway. The site is known to have been occupied from the early years of 1800, although it is likely that, like the other ridges of The Rocks, it was occupied by the encampment of settlers in the first weeks of the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788. With its colonial old English charm and character, The Glenmore has been a popular watering hole, which has survived depressions, wars and plagues. This hidden gem in The Rocks was starting to show her age and in early 2012 it was closed for refurbishment

Great spot for sundowners with a perfect view of the bridge whilst you watch the city lights come to life. The sparkling shiraz is delicious and the bar snacks good.

We enjoyed our Saturday lunch with Friends on the buzzy rooftop. My prawn tacos were delicious washed down with a beautiful Sauvignon Blanc. The staff were friendly and attentive. An enjoyable way to spend Saturday afternoon - will be back for sure.

The rooftop bar is magnificent with sweeping views of Circular key and the Opera house. Beer was cold and food tasty. Could become a favourite if I lived closer

Great music for the early evening, stormed early then we had the 9:00 fireworks. Rained off and on. Rain cleared for midnight!!! Was spectacular! Service was good for the crowd that they had. Would recommend for next year.

The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and
sailors from the old nation. As the oldest
neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone
streets host more than 100 heritage sites and
buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney,
Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi
“ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the
waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The
