How is 6 HEAD 1788 rated?

We ate dinner last week. It’s a great location with wonderful views and a price to match. The menu is fairly limited, it’s basically a steak restaurant. Food was good but not exceptional. The starters arrived separately which is poor at this level of restaurant....My wife’s fillet was of great quality and cooked to perfection (rare) but sadly my steak was significantly over cooked. Also not a fan of the way steak is cooked which appears flame grilled but of course that is just personal preference. Wines were nice and again priced according to location. Staff were friendly although the organisation seemed a bit chaotic and we were not sure at times who was looking after us. Overall an enjoyable experience. It’s worth a look when in SydneyMore

Great steak

The steak we had was undeniably one of the best we've ever tasted; cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Moreover, the service was top-notch. The staff was attentive and friendly.

Service didn’t live up to the price

Our hotel concierge sent us to this restaurant. We sat outside to enjoy the view. Unfortunately it was a bit cool and windy that afternoon. The food was very good. My husband had a steak and I had one of the best burgers I have...ever had. But at such an expensive restaurant we expect the service to be top-notch but it was a bit sloppy. The gal taking our orders was friendly and helpful but other people brought the food and we had to ask our server a few times to look into where our food or drinks were. After ordering, a fellow brought a wine glass to my husband but no wine until we asked where it was. And it would have been nice if our server had told me that the salad that came with my burger was the same salad that we had already shared as a starter. We would have started with a different salad. Just little things like that. But the location is fabulous with such a nice view. We had a nice dinner but I’m not sure that we would go back. There are so many good restaurants in the area.,More

Location, Location, Location!

Brides the great location, thus restaurant also has great food. My friends and I stopped here for a late dinner after walking around the Harbour area. Comfy chairs with views of the Sydney Opera House. We had a good bottle of Shiraz, and shared a...Waygu burger, a Bibb salad, Mac & cheese & a raspberry dessert. All were great tasting! Perfect shared late nights tastes. Thank you!More

Awesome Venue In An Amazing Location

We booked in for dinner on our first night of holidays. We sat inside upstairs which I feel is better than outside. You get to see the uniqueness of this restaurant. I love the heritage building and the decor and layout with stunning views. The...service was 5 star with our waitress Andie keeping our son entertained with some great stories about the building, The food was delicious and you couldn't fault anything. This is one of our favourite restaurants now and we will be back next time we are in Sydney!!More

The most perfect night

From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive, friendly and aimed to create an amazing experience. We ordered a bottle of wine off their extensive list and it was the perfect choice. I ordered the wagyu steak and can honestly say it’s the best...steak I’ve ever had. My partner ordered the wagyu burger which was perfectly cooked. They even brought us a little cake to welcome us to Sydney as in a passing comment we informed them it was our first time here. Overall a wonderful experience and would recommend anyone visiting Sydney to try.More

A bit pricey but great experience

Such a great location coupled with great food. Make sure to try the wagyu beef doughnuts truly delicious. Bit on pricey side but perfectly overlooks opera house. The wagyu potatoes were little bites of heaven

Outstanding food and great setting

We visited 6 Head under the reference of Luxury Escapes as part of the Vivid Program and were not disappointed. Amazingly great food, attentive and professional service and a gorgeous setting inside with a colour and art show. Really the combination was speculator.

5 stars for service and food

OMG - What a great place. Arrive - Staff were waiting for us at the door - straight to our seat and the service just got better. Food and drinks all came out in a timely manner and staff were only too happy to take...a few photos for a wonderful memorable evening.More

The place is a MUST

We went on Sunday night and my gosh was it the best steak I have ever eaten in my life. The temperature was perfect. The crust was superb. I could not have asked for a better meal. The staff were exceptionally professional and well mannered....Could not recommend highly enough 10/10More

Great place for celebrations—especially if you want a good view!

Best steak I’ve ever had!! I must admit, it was very pricey but since we celebrated a birthday here, it was all worth it. Exceptional food, service, and view! One thing we didn’t like, however, was that the food kind of took long, but it’s...understandable since it’s fine dining. Best steak restaurant that I have been to.

Went to the restaurant for my sons 16th birthday. It was a fantastic experience: nice ambiance, food was amazing- the best steak that we have ever had and perfectly cooked. All the staff were friendly and attentive and they even created a surprise birthday message...on my son’s dessert, which was a really nice touch. We had a wonderful night and will definitely return.More

Birthday celebration

We chose 6 Head to celebrate my birthday, and the restaurant staff ( both in the kitchen and front-of-house ) made it a memorable evening . The location is terrific, the food superb and the service wonderful.

Exceptional

My daughter and I visited 6Head on Friday night and were really impressed with both the food and the service. All staff were attentive and engaging. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We chose the tuna sashimi, escargot and the steak tartare to start...and all 3 dishes were amazing. We then had the burnt leeks, wagyu potatoes and the miso salmon. Amazing!More

Fantastic Location and Steak

Without doubt one of the best restaurants in Sydney. 6head has a great location in The Rocks area with direct views onto the harbour and the Opera House beyond. We enjoyed a great meal, Salmon and Cerviche to start, but without doubt the Fillet Steak...main course was one of the best I have ever enjoyed, perfectly cooked and so tender. Be advised to make a booking in advance as 6head is very popular. We highly recommend this place so don’t miss it if in SydneyMore
