Nice place, good atmosphere music loud but good. BUT very expensive. Got three teeny tiny oysters for extortionate amount. Scallop appetizer super salty even avoiding the salt it was served on, yuk. Sushi rolls ok. Tile fish delicious BUT outrageous price. Ok but not value...for money.More

We arrived early for our reservation but were seated at once in the very busy, large dining area. Service was generally slick and friendly The food was great with the duck starter and duck main dishes being excellent

It is outrageously overpriced and not worth it. We ordered a chef’s recommendation set menu, which consists of 7 tiny dishes and cost $185 per person…. Excluding any drinks. With one beer it came to $400 for two of us…The food is not even particularly...tasty. We felt ripped off leaving the place. Don’t waste your money like we did!More

Sake was amazing 10/10 !!!!!I organised a 50th birthday event for 4 of my girlfriends at Sake on Sat 14 Oct and could not fault anything on the night, everything was perfect. I communicate via email with Sophie, the event manager . I booked the...Sake private room for 43 people. Everything went smoothly from booking, ordering the menu and set up of the private room. When we arrived on the night, we were greeted by very friendly staff and a sign with all the birthday ladies name was displayed. The function room was beautifully set up, everyone was impressed with the ambience .I was most impressed with the staff on the night, the Manager Xavia was wonderful, she made sure everything went well and smooth ,nothing was too much for her. She went above and beyond, really helpful and always smiling. Her two wait staff Noelia and Fernando were fantastic. Also so friendly and happy to service everyone, nothing was ever problem for them. The service team on the night were one of the best we have experienced and our group dine out a lot at a lot of venues. I've been dining at sake for many years , always loved the food and service there. The food was incredible as always, head chef Brian did an amazing job making sure there was enough for everyone and food came gradually not too rushed. Everyone was enjoying it.A lot of my friends have not dined at Saké before , they loved every dish and said they will definitely be back. So overall it was a wonderful experience for everyone on the night and made great memories at Saké . Jenny LeeMore

Thought the menu was limited for the price. Tried the fixed menu as there were four of us. Food was OK but very average for price. Dessert of individual pavlova with hardly any filling was terrible. Pre-dinner drinks arrived after two courses and wine had...been served. Cant see how an Asahi beer cost $18 anyway. Have had better Japanese at much cheaper restaurants. Would not go back.More

Sake having been booked out as a private event the night I went, should've meant exquisite control over every detail in my opinion..& whilst it certainly began that way with pre-dinner drinks accompanied by truly superb Californian Maki Sushi . The dining room is as...comfortable as it is visually attractive -- & so the stage was set for a stunning dinner. Or so I had anticipated. Alas the promising beginning wasn't sustained. The first course ~ a truly wonderful sashimi selection of magnificent tuna fish + kingfish/salmon & snapper ~ was very attractively presented, & it delighted everyone. Utterly! Closely followed by the cleverly conceived & presented, miniature Tacos...these gems of seasoned salmon were deliciously attractive to eat as well! The marvels from the kitchen kept coming when the cheeky Japanese take on the famous Chinese Shumai (steamed prawn dumplings) , here with a cheeky spicy ponzu dressing-- were placed on table..& boy were were enthusiastically devoured without hesitation! Then it all faltered when the Popcorn Shrimp arrived with hardly any "pop".they had become disappointingly stuck together in their chillibean mayo. The Salmon Yaki was only 'fair', but the Rangers Valley short rib concluding the billed feast, was unattractively cooked & not saved in anyway by the poorly achieved "Crispy Brussels Sprouts"..which sadly weren't "crispy'! The truly awful so-called "Pavlova" (nothing like it's namesake) was so disappointing mostly everyone did but "play with it.. few were actually eaten enthusiastically with appreciation I noticed . It seems the further the kitchen strayed from the classics the less successful they became-- so my advice would be please do dine here..but stay with the tried & true & you'll most likely have a marvelous dinner!More

Four couples decide to visit to Sake. Never again. The cocktails took almost 30 mins to get to our table, just as our entrees arrived. The noise was so bad that you had to shout to hear yourself speak & a fire alarm went off...inside the restaurant and continued for 11 mins telling us we had to evacuate. "Nothing to worry about, just a false alarm". The wines were marked up about 400% and the 2 bowls of steamed rice that arrived were so gluey & stuck together you could have used them to render a house! 2 bottles or very basic Riesling & 1 bottle of cheap sake, $400 a couple. Simply not worth it.More
