About
DEAR GUESTS, Since opening the door to our home, this humble Italian restaurant in Alexandria, we have been blessed with the company of hundreds of curious diners in search of something more. Couples on first dates relax and share cocktails at the hand-crafted wooden bar. The soft, smooth music allows the conversation to flow. And should it stop, our friendly bartenders know how to break the ice. Lovers celebrating an anniversary sit opposite one another at candle-lit tables and raise their glasses to past happiness and future love. Our waiters ensure they are well taken care of without intruding on those special moments. Our menu, which uses traditional Italian produce put together with a little panache’, was designed to be shared. Small and large groups celebrate birthdays, homecomings, Christmas parties and corporate functions at our long table, where share plates are passed around and no-one is forgotten. We can’t wait to meet you.

A charming restaurant with a highly atmospheric nighttime low lighting ambience. Delicious high-quality food. Attentive, friendly and efficient service. Highly recommend but note that Pino is expensive - we paid $480 for four, comprising shared anti-pasta, 2 shared pasta dishes, 2 shared deserts, and 3 glasses of wine between us. This included 10% that we added. We asked for tap water and were surprised to be charged $33 for water on the bill. We did not raise an objection because we did not want to spoil an otherwise perfect evening.

Lavish Italian menu with rich delicious choices. We had the tasting menu this time, which offered a wonderful array of dishes -- we really shouldn't have ordered risotto too since the food was plentiful, but we are glad we did. Pino's has gone from strength to strength in the few years since it opened. Though the atmosphere is not romantic, the quality of the meal makes it a place for a special occasion. Try the risotto, the fusilli with kale pesto, the witlof salad! Excellent wine list too.

Exceptional as always. Amazing globally awarded negroni; ocean freshly shucked oysters; delicious home made pasta; Bistecca fiorentina cooked to perfection. Service by Matt and team outstanding. Some great wines too!

Looked nice restaurant and two of our party had visited earlier in the month and had a very nice experience. We had a party of ten and they insisted we take the ‘chefs selection’ and would not let us see the menu. The meal started off with a burrata and tomato dish , excellent fresh bread and a very fine extra virgin olive oil. One party was gluten free so they got some gf packaged bread and some biscuits. When the bill came the gf bread was an additional $7 charge ! . Followed by two very average pasta dishes, a roast pork dish which had mixed reviews and a very dense chocolate cake… overall very very ordinary then the bill came $ 95 a head for the chefs selection expensive wine and they tried to slug us for a 10 % surcharge for a group over 6. We hear Pinos is opening a new restaurant in Cronullla … Good luck as they just alienated 10 people who dine frequently in the shire ! Word of mouth will kill this venture

I booked a table for my sister's birthday, hoping this would be something special. But when the food started coming out, I realised my expectations were way too high. Each course came out as 2 plates for 4 people and we were expected to divide them up equally. The food was basic and didn't warrant the price tag. The expensive wine came out in a cheap carafe, not even sure it was the wine we ordered, and the beer came out flat. We left feeling very disappointed and reluctant to do it again!

First time at this restaurant with a group of friends. Did not get offered a menu. I have NEVER been refused a menu at a restaurant before. Told we were having the Chefs Special - an entree, two pastas, a main and a dessert @ $95 per person. Food was not worth $95 per head. Glass of wine $21. Beer $14. Received the bill with a 10% surcharge because more than 6. Won’t be rushing back.

I went to this restaurant last night with some friends after hearing amazing things from so many people. I’m disappointed to say it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant. We got there at 8:30, had some drinks and two entrees but by 10;30-10;45 still no mains were served. They had just forgotten/disregarded our order completely and lied to by 2 waiters on where our order was/why it was delayed being told twice it will be 5 mins away even though half an hour was between. There was even a table behind us who ordered after we did, and still go their food before us.. There was little to no effort given to provide a sincere apology/make it up to us, which was really disheartening. To add to this, I reached out to their Instagram page after we left, and they blocked my profile. Completely unprofessional considering our bill was still $400 despite not even consuming a main meal each. Won’t be back, would not recommended

The staff were fantastic and extremely knowledgeable on the menu. They offered a very warm and friendly service, having been to Italy a handful of times, it felt like we were there. My girlfriend and I are very much looking forward to our next visit to Pino's. The 'let the chef feed you' menu is an excellent idea as it lets Italians do what they do best, feed you!

The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. I do recommend to try their range of pasta. The oxtail tongue is so good that it melts through your mouth. And ohhhh the panna cotta was exceptional! The ambiance feels like a homey countryside in Italy and has the best service both from the front of house to the chefs. Would definitely come back!

We dined here for my birthday dinner and were greeted with complimentary prosecco by very welcoming and hospitable staff - they were amazing! The atmosphere was buzzing and the restaurant itself was beautiful. Olives and bread were nice but I felt should be complimentary. Burrata was delicious! The Prawns in XO sauce were not cooked through and both pasta dishes we ate were absolutely revolting... The squid ink tasted like tinned spaghetti and the other seafood pasta lacked flavour and creativity. The chefs also put too much boiled pasta water in the sauce which tasted very starchy and again, the seafood was undercooked. The wine the waiter selected for us was lovely and was probably the best part of our dining experience. I don't usually leave reviews but I feel people need to be warned about this place. Great spot for a glass of wine or a cocktail at the bar, but I wouldn't eat there again.

Four of us dined here on a well patronised Tuesday evening. The menu was not that extensive with a range of cheese and salumi as starters for $38 for a selection of any three of 16 items and $63 for a selection of any five. There were nine assaggini and antipasti dishes which included bread ($7), mixed olives ($8) and Sydney rock oysters ($5 each) plus six more substantive dishes ranging in price from $20 to $27 for the Kingfish crudo. There were eight mains ranging in price from $26 for a Caprese risotto to $63 for a 300g Ranger Valley sirloin to $99 for a 1KG Black Angus Fiorentina and three sides all at $12 each. As entrees we shared the Burrata with prosciutto and rockmelon, the octopus, cannellini and nduja and the Quail with creamed corn, plum and radicchio. All of these dishes were very good. As mains we had the fish ($42) as well as the spaghetti with spanner crab, roasted cherry tomatoes and dill. Both of these dishes were tasty and enjoyable. The gigli with braised pork ragu and peas was not as enjoyable and somewhat bland. We passed on dessert. Wine menu was very extensive, showcasing largely Italian wines with some French and Australian, and on the whole very expensive with what I would have said was only about 30% of bottles less than $100 and the majority of that 30% over $70. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall I thought that it was an expensive evening, even though the food and service had largely been good. The credit card surcharge was 2.16%.

This Alexandria institution never fails to deliver the best genuine Italian food around. We live nearby and visit every month or so to get our dose of warm, vibrant atmosphere, fabulous wine list, creative barman and absolutely stunning food. Indoor and Al Fresco options so handy, and if they are serving Cacio e Pepe then DROP EVERYTHING and run there. Tiramisu also the best I have tasted. We just went and I already can't wait to go back!

We went because it was nearby with no expectations and found a little bit of upscale authentic Italy! Got off to a slightly rocky start but that was resolved quickly and was more my sometimes fussy nature than anything else. The food was frankly fabulous - the burrata with a kind of radish compote was a wow, the scampi was excellent, my Murray cod in a Champagne sauce was perfect, my son's squid ink pasta equally so. The Italian wines suggested by the owner at may request were very good, the red especially so. The desserts, a Tiramisu and rhubarb cake we're a perfect finish...the service was unpretentious, relaxed in the best way and excellent. I rarely "find" the real deal by essentially walking in off the street but this time we did! It's really a must go to place - sit and eat at the bar....

Great to see Italian like this in a nondescript suburban location. The tonarelli had a great egg flavour but the bolognese sauce was sparse and very salty. Add some beetroot and pesto salad and some pate and some good tiramisu and it's worth a look, even at the high prices.

This restaurant is exquisite. So few places manage to create an ambience that is warm and inviting but Pinos is next level cosiness - very soothing to the senses. The food is delicious, the wine list is divine and the service is both confident and relaxed. Beautiful neighbourhood location and a vibrant joviality is experienced by the patrons. I would definitely eat here regularly if I didn’t live in Melbourne. LOVED it!
