About
Welcome to MoshPit! The unpretentious small rock’n’roll bar breathing new life into the southern end of King St. With distinctive and original blend of drinks, décor and dive. MoshPit serves the best local craft tap beer (YH, Grifter, Willie the Boatman etc), wines, spirits, cocktails and food from a local pizzeria Albertos. Nostalgic tickets and posters from owners Pat and Wax’s own collections plaster the dark brick walls and ignite talk of who was where and what went down, reflecting the area’s long-standing links to live music. See for yourself why MoshPit’s becoming the locals favourite watering hole.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I've popped in probably 5 or 6 times over the past few years to see live shows. It's got a great relaxing vibe, it only fits 100 people (sometimes 25 to 50 depending on NSW government restrictions), everyone feels close to the stage, it's in a great location, staff are friendly, they have great beers and cocktails as well, and the posters on the wall are epic. It was sorely needed after the closure of similar venues like the Sandringham Hotel up King Street (now a mini golf bar) or the Hopetoun Hotel & Excelsion Hotel in Surry Hills (one is closed & the other is a pub with no live music). It fills the void for small bands just trying to find a place to get onto a stage, and they also allow open mic nights for any band or solo artist to have a go.
It is small, so on Fridays and weekends make sure to get there early when doors open, or buy a ticket from the Facebook page if available.

Cool little bar down the south end of King St. Lots of cool 90's bill posters around the room, kicking off some good nostalgic grunge vibes.
Amazing support of musicians with open mic nights (solo nights and band nights), and lots of local bands later in the week, with a stage ready to rock. A great place to get your foot in the door if you're starting out as a new band.
Good drinks range with local craft beers on tap. Delicious pizzas available .
Awesome staff too!

Great little bar with relatively cheap drinks and Coopers red on tap and great live music - turned out we were only listening to the sound check and the actual gig was fully booked and we had to leave after two drinks but if the sound check was that good, the full thing must be amazing.

MoshPit is unpretentious with great music and drinks. Down South King Street, good pizzas, local beers and cocktail - go the Tasty VAJ. Live bands good too

At the end of King St and set musically in the 80s and 90s this dive bar is a great place to enjoy a few beers or cocktails.
The walls are adorned with posters from various bands through the 80s and 90s and the soundtrack is of the same eras.
Friendly staff and a good vibe. We need more bars like this. Oh and they have live music.

MoshPit is great - the staff are super friendly and helpful (the bar is often staffed by the owners), and they make a mean cocktail.
The bar is small and has some great vibes. It may look dark from the outside, but it is not the least dingy on the inside.
The alt-90's night (Thursday) is an absolute blast.

Love the style of this place, with a heap of 90s gig posters on the wall - we went on "vinyl night" where if you bring your own record for them to play you get a free beer.
