The venue practices COVID safe methods, has a reasonable range of options on the menu and has very attentive and polite staff. Whilst the location is a little bit difficult to spot from the street, it is easy to find once you see the signage....The food was very tasty and the service was quick.More

Delicious. Lunch time, socially distant, could do with 1 or 2 more wait staff. Busy, enjoyable meal and delicious food. Japanese with some modern twists. Bento is a good size. Sashimi fresh.

We’ve been to Tokyo Laundry twice in the last month and both visits have been equally fantastic. First time was for a lunch meal and the second was for an early dinner, pre the outdoor cinema. Popcorn shrimp is definitely a must have and the...miso eggplant is just sensational. We also love the pork belly which melts in the mouth. We look forward to our next visitMore

We wandered into Tokyo Laundry after a tiring day on our feet visiting the sights of Sydney including an eventful walking tour. They managed to squeeze us in as it was nearly closing time. Food was amazingly delicious and extremely well balanced. We ordered the...popcorn shrimp, brocollini which was simply outstanding and the agadashi tofu and sashimi was sublime.Would love to come back and try the omekase’ one day!!More

For years we have struggled to find a good dining experience prior to a show at the Opera House. We have been disappointed time and time ago by the overpriced touristy establishments nearby We have found “our place “ in Tokyo Laundry - just near...Circular Quay station in the Gateway complex . Conveniently opens at 5.30 and we were first in although it was filling up by the time we left at 6.45 Meal was really delicious . We had kingfish sashimi, spicy endarme, popcorn shrimp, broccolini and pork belly Highlight for me was the popcorn shrimp - I would go back just for that dish . My least fav was the pork belly but my husband loved it. Staff were super attentive and pleasant It’s our new “go to “place Highly recommendedMore

The Japanese degustation menu is well balanced, beautifully presented and so delicious. Really special flavours- don't come here expecting sushi. Sometimes service is too fast but this time we were able to appreciate each course without feeling rushed.

It was a very pleasant dinner. We tried one of their Tasting Menu, which was good as we could skip the tough choice-making process. Luckily, we were right as it included a good variety of food which matched our preferences. The food was delicious and...well presented. The service was good. The environment was comfortable. Since the restaurant is right at the Sydney Harbourfront, we had a nice after-dinner walk around the Circular Quay area, so it was a healthy dinner too.More

Worst bao ever. The wagyu beef bao is simply horrible and should be prohibited. Additionally it’s highly overpriced if you take into account the quality... 18 aud for 2 “wagyu???” beef bao of a flea size? Go better to a mcdonalds.

Food = very good Decor = good Service = mostly disinterested/average I never understand why great chefs spend time & money on the menu and the space but don't think investing in staff training to ensure the service experience matches the food. Not a terrible...experience but I'd mentioned we were there for my daughter's birthday & didn't even get a "Happy Birthday" from the staff. They usually have a happy hour drink deal but when I enquired they said not at Christmas - brilliant. They saved some margin but we just drank far less so it cost them anyway. Christmas music is appropriate but not when it's tragic muzac style played at near night club levels. So much choice in Sydney, Tokyo Laundry gave us no reason to return.More
