We took our little granddaughter out for the afternoon at the beach and had the good old fish and chips for dinner. We ordered the usual 'fish and chips' and a barramundi compo (with chips and salad). All was good and gone within a short time. The fish was moist and fresh, the batter was crisp, the chips were very... More

We were sent here by a friend who studied in Sydney. Truly looked forward to beachside fish n chips after a long coastal walk from Bondi. Wish we had asked for more menu suggestions, as there are several fish choices available. Went with the basic fish n chips. Very filling. Could have shared one order of chips. Everything is a... Family day down at Coogee beach, great fish and chips, awesome staff. They dealt with a real cow of a woman that was screaming at them, with absolute grace. Well done guys. Give it a try next time you're down at Coogee Beach

Despite all the newcomers and specialist fish and chips opening in Coogee, this little hole in the wall still does it for me. Great chips, good quality fish, lots of options in terms of burgers, salads or grilled fish. Order a feed and take a number then sit on the beach with the seagulls and soak it all up.

A great spot to grab a burger, chips and salad. Situated in the park looking over Coogee Bay it is convenient and the food is very good. There is often a long queue which is a GOOD sign. It's very convenient for folks on the beach or picnicking in the park. There is a small outdoor seated area with a... More

Ridiculously Overpriced for what we got. Salad was horrible if you can call it a salad, and fish was dry! Wait time was ridiculous too! We were aware that it was busy, but for what we received, definitely not worth the wait!!

The fish was "ok" the salad was terrible and the gentleman serving would be better off in a job that didn't require any type of customer service.

I don't come to Coogee much but the last 2 times I've bought fish & chips from here. They're very efficient and fast and the food is tasty. Located right on the beach what more could you want? I really like their chips but maybe I shouldn't. :)

Went to Chish and Fips for lunch, to have fish and chips. We asked which was the freshest fish they told us all the fish was frozen, there was no fresh fish. I ordered New Zealand Hoki, it was the cheapest and I didn't see the point in paying $18 for frozen salmon. The fish came out and it was... More

We ate chips here today after a fab walk along the coast bath. Excellent staff and really tasty chips. Yummy mocha and walnut banana bread. Great name, couldn't resist a photo.

Staying in Coogee

Neighbourhood Profile
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.
