I was on a short holiday and was recommended to grab a bite here by my friend. We decided to find this shop for a coffee break. Choices of doughnuts layered on shelves and displayed near the entrance, take your pick, pay and be served....It was really pleasing to sit outside the cafe to eat the doughnuts while sipping your coffee. This place serves yummy doughnuts but not really serving main courses. A great experience.More

Visited their Barangaroo location which is quite small with limited sit down area. It is very popular with locals for takeaway. The quality is excellent and they have several unique flavors. We loved the maple sugar and walnut along with the chocolate crullers.

I visited the new store in LittleHayStreet rather than the Barangaroo store. Personal favourites were the earl grey and the honey & seasalt! Service was super friendly too. Keep up the great work guys!

If you're going to eat food that's really bad for you, eat good quality food that's bad for you. The maple walnut browned butter was my favourite but I've heard they have different flavours on different days so I will be back. Don't embarrass yourself...and ask for tea. As the name suggests, they only sell coffee and doughnuts (sorry, donuts), which is more than enough if you ask me.More

Visited shortstop on a number of occasions and it is consistently good quality. The regular raised doughnuts are solid, but nothing exceptional. However, some other variations are phenomenal. In my opinion the maple bacon doughnut, which is only served on Thursdays and Saturdays I think?...And the sea salt honey cruller are clear standouts. The salty kick in both of these balances out the sweet and brings it to another level. The Cruller is also slightly crispy on the outside and light on the inside. I don't know what they do differently for the dough concerning the maple bacon, but its so soft and airy and the glaze is spot on! Bacon could be a bit crispier in my opinion but I understand that's very difficult to keep when they're sitting out for a while. All in all though, both of these doughnuts are incredible. The flavour profile of the maple brown butter walnut is also great but is let down slightly by the texture and quality of dough (as with all the other raised). I'm not a huge coffee drinker so I can't comment on the quality there. Service is always very friendly and attentive. Whenever I'm in Barangaroo I'm very tempted by this place and I see myself returning very soon.More

The donuts are delicious and made fresh on-site, as a plus, the coffee is excellent. The coffee options are minimal though, they only have organic milk to pair with it.

In my Friday afternoon search for the best place in Barangarangarangaroo (or however you spell it) to grab a coffee and find a seat so I could get some work done (which, by the way, is apparently something locals don't do at the end of...the week), I found myself passing by the fanciest donut shop I have ever seen. Now, while I consider myself to be a donut connoisseur, my wheelhouse is firmly within the realms of proletariat donuts. I don't need bacon, fancy colors, or instagrammable donuts. I want oil and sugar! But, let me tell you, Shortstop has some inventive donuts as well as a selection that spans the gamut. Instead of ordering a donut from a case, a donut expert takes your order and sends it magically to the back. Within a couple minutes, you'll have an artisan donut in your hand and, a few seconds later, in your belly. Well, I didn't find that seat I was looking for (there were some spots but they were better for socializing than working on my lappy) but with their delightful storefront and amazing offerings, I was happy for the diversion.More
