Hey!! These guys are smooth operators. Faultless operation and recommend a visit to anyone for coffee or lunch. Owners are always present and very friendly. Coffee choices and options all roasted by them are so good. Best takeaway dampers rolls I ever tasted and delivered to you by the chef which is a nice touch. Freshly baked muffins that change daily. Eat in lunch menu is great, reasonable priced as well and generous very very tasty meals - the chef is always the same man and food is presented so well as well. New covid sign in system a bit clunky but all covid elements they have covered including sanitiser stations everywhere. Reassuring. Professional.

I love the holidays...it means road trips which include supporting our favourite half way stop in Coffs Harbour! Palate & Ply's owners and team always make us and their customers welcome.It is truly remarkable how they even know so many of their regulars names! You just have to stand in the queue to experience it. I love the addition of the new little tables guys! We sat upstairs and just love the way you have done your new decor. The carrot cake is to die for! My partner was reluctant to even share his. The vego Bennie is so generous and delicious too. Great work on the coffee and the swan was just beautiful. Great cafe' as always.

Raving about Rage

We have always struggled to find a convenient coffee stop in Coffs. No longer. There is ample street parking in the area, the decor is striking and staff are very friendly. Best of all is the coffee. Based on owner recommendation, we chose the dark roast Rave - not for the faint hearted but exactly what we wanted.

3min off the highway top quality cafe

3min off the highway fantastic food & coffee. We couldn’t fault this place, we wanted a light healthy breakfast and we were really impressed esp with the perfect coffee ( we are double espresso drinkers so U can’t hide bad coffee! We had 2 it was sooo good ). A nice variety of choices if u want some healthier options for food. Loved the açai bowl, muffins looked great, porridge was delish. We are soo glad we stopped here, we are travelling to Sydney from Byron and there are only fast food options after Coffs so don’t be afraid to veer off the highway to eat decent food. Also nice to note clean toilets, free wifi & kid friendly

Funky, healthy, delicious coffee roasting cafe!

Delicious, healthy food, great ambience and wonderful coffee roasted on site. We love the reusable stainless steel coffee pods for our Nespresso machine Palate & Ply sell along with their Leap (decaf) and Roar (smooth) coffee. Their Rage (stronger roast) is great for mornings when we need an extra boost. With great art (including some local artist pieces) and a funky atmosphere, Palate & Ply is a place for the ‘must visit’ list when in Coffs Harbour.

Absolutely Amazing Place

We were passing through Coffs harbour on our way to Byron Bay this week. Reading reviews on TA and Google , we decided to swing by for coffee and breakfast. This place is a hidden gem. The young crew are staff are super friendly and the mature lady with blonde hair has a very good handle on her operation. She was attentive, friendly and welcoming. It must be a family operation, because this team is tight and works well together. The barista even brought it out to us. The food is fresh, well presented and the cakes are on point. Whatever they have done with their coffee, they are nailing it. The super fit young man who chatted to us when he collected our plates is very well trained on customer service. The artwork and decor since we were last there three years ago is exceptional. The coffee is even better than our last visit. Not sure who did the painting on the wall and display boards, but they deserve all the accolades for a job well done. We sneaked upstairs -it was blocked off for an event? to look at the changes they have made. The whole theme of Africa is really unique and refreshing. Very cleverly done. My wife bought a takeaway for us and then we saw the design on the cups.Beats the socks off all the other boring cafe's we stumble on, and we are well travelled

I love this place so much...where do I start. Consistently smooth coffee, fast service, in-house made cakes, accommodates kids, no shortage of seating, and very friendly, competent staff. Pretty much leaves every other cafe in Coffs for dead when it comes to service. Basically it never disappoints and I have been there a lot!

Worth the short detour off the highway if you need to recharge your batteries

Lovely calm and happy retreat just off the main highway with good coffee and cakes and fresh ingredients. My husband had the club sandwich on the strength of another TA review and it did everything right. I had the hummingbird cake - I can’t go past a decent sized moist cake with icing. It tasted as good as it looked. Also there was beautiful live music - first and third Fridays of each month and that was an unexpected bonus. Staff were friendly and the toilet facility was clean and had paper towels to dry your hands - really hate those air dryers!! I asked for our small flat whites extra hot and they were not, but they were hot and a decent sized cup. We will definitely stop here again.

First Coffee in Coffs

Staff-super friendly Coffee- good Food- i ordered the eggs Benedict. It was plated on buns with eggs on one side and bacon on other bun with sauce separate. No need to be fancy. I also had a vanilla and banana muffin. This was moist and tasty.

After reading other reviews we picked Palate to grab some coffee and a quick breakfast bite. GREAT DECISION! We have been on the road for a month up and down the coast and this was easily the best coffee. Very friendly owner and staff, a nice and easy besakdfast menu and service was very good. I had the Breakie wrap and loved it. My wife had the veggie breakie wrap and loved hers as well. We will definitely be stopping in there in the morning to fuel up for our drive back to Sydney.

Best Coffee in Town

I often read reviews that claim that the cafe they visited serves the best coffee ever! I am always a little disappointed when I try. However I loved this place Coffee was really, really good. I purchased a kilo of beans to take home!!! Added benefit they are dog friendly.

I just love this place especially because i love the old world charm of ringing the cafe on their work phone and ordering a coffee when im in a rush in the car and any staff that answer are most happy to take my order! No app for ordering, just a phone call, how cool. The cafe itself is a great easy to park location and is massive inside. perfect for kids and business meetings, I've done both. I've been going to Palate and Ply irregularly ever since they changed from Artisi and their coffee has been a high standard every singe time no matter what barista, month or year! thanks guys

The perfect Australian coffee experience!

Excellent coffee, fabulous atmosphere, delicious food, great premises and super-friendly staff. This is the best coffee I have tasted in Australia so far - 3 month visit. The baristas are excellent and knowledgeable. The food, from savoury to sweet, is fantastic. Scrambled eggs on sourdough bread are highly recommended! The perfect Australian "laid back" coffee experience!

Passing through Coffs. Sourced menu online. Nothing advertised on menu available. Had bacon and eggs on toast..couldn’t cut through toast. Requested relish as a side ..charged me extra $1 on my credit card as separate transaction.

Thank you Caroline for your feedback. As was kindly mentioned that due to unforeseen circumstances our Chef had a family emergency and we had no choice but to limit our menu, as during these trying times during Covid we unfortunately don't have a pool of extra Chefs available. It was unfortunately not possible to have uploaded a new menu on the website given the short notice before the cafe opened. I apologise that our full menu was not available. Our toast is a popular locally made Sourdough which generally has a harder crust than ordinary bread. Items not costed into a menu item, such as extra speciality sauces are generally at most cafes and restaurants charged for as an extra. Thank you for your understanding and hope to see you back one day.

As a long-term local and lover of coffee, this place is the best. Their dark roast blend is memorable and highly recommended. Also the friendly service and family atmosphere makes this a must see.
