Arrived, stood inside the door, was totally ignored for ages and left. 3 staff members just walked right past- refused to acknowledge me or respond to my attempts to get their attention. One of them (dark curly hair) briefly muttered “Hi” under her breath, before...she averted her eyes and kept walking. A short, very telling experience- you can tell a lot about a restaurant by the way they acknowledge people when they walk in. This is supposed to be a nice restaurant- food court service.More

Stayed at the Hotel Realm for a birthday experience with breakfast at Buvette included. We were seated at 8:30 and then promptly left to our own devices. We had to get up and find someone to take our order about 40 minutes later. We got...our coffees after our food arrived at 9:20. Clearly forgotten by the staff, It is frustrating to see other guests who arrived 30 minutes after us with coffee almost straight away and their meals not long after. know it happens but we missed out on our booking for another event.More

Staying at The Realm in Canberra, and wanted to have a meal close by after a long drive. Straight away, the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially James who took care of us for the whole meal. Amazing food and knowledgeable, friendly service. Cannot...recommend Buvette more highly!More

Wonderful experience for our wedding anniversary. Attentive staff, sensational wine and food. Very impressed. Sadly, we had to return to QLD early due to Covid restrictions. We would most definitely returned if our stay in Canberra had been longer.

I had an infuriating experience at Buvette this weekend just gone. It was the designated restaurant for hotel guests, and we had breakfast included in our room rate so headed down around 9.20am. As we arrived, we were rushed onto a table by one of...the staff. The table wasn't set, had no menus, no water. We waited about 15 minutes to even get menus before I walked up to the bar and asked. The hostess laughed and brought some menus to our table, and let us know she'd be 'right back' for our order. Well, apparently 'right back' meant another 15 minute wait, even to order our coffees. She scribbled our order on the back of a menu and ran away. Another 30 minutes later, we hadn't even received our coffees or juice (we also hadn't been given table water). The frustrating part were that other customers were arriving, being seated, and receiving their orders before us. Eventually I asked about our order and we were told 'the food is almost ready, but there is a wait on the coffee'. Eventually, an hour after arriving, our coffee came. Two of our dishes came shortly after, but we had to ask about our third, which had clearly been forgotten. We ate our mediocre food (with the eggs served runny, despite ordering hard yolks) and left without so much as an apology from staff. Disgusting service, I won't be back.More

We came into Buvette expecting classic french fine dining and unfortunately left feeling that the whole restaurant was a mixture of 4 different ideas, none of which seemed to hit the mark. Much of the food was underseasoned and service staff seemed worried by even...the simplest requestsMore

My wife and I had dinner at Buvette recently and found the experience lived up to our expectations from our last meal there. The restaurant is divided into several spaces by screens which give the dining areas a more intimate feel. Our waiter was very...friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. We shared an entree of yellowfin tuna tartare followed by shared chateaubriand which was magnificent, with perfectly cooked steak, French onions, a whole roasted garlic bulb and fantastic, light, fluffy Yorkshire puddings. Sides were frittes and a radichio salad. There was enough food for more than two but we managed! The wine list is very extensive. We started with an Australian sparkling wine, then shared a bottle of Provence rose and I had a glass of a very nice local Sangiovese. A wonderful meal and a 2 minute walk back to our accommodation at Brassey Hotel.More

Great service, even better food. The wagyu tartare has got to be the best I have tried, along with the pumpkin side and the lamb. Left me wanting more!! Highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a place to celebrate or even for the...spontaneous dinner.More
