The restaurant is in a lovely place on the water and is small enough to be quite intimate. The food was excellent including the king prawns, duck and barramundi. The deserts were delightful and the majority of items on the menus were either gf or...could be altered to suit. The only disappointing thing was that we were not given the opportunity to have the degustation menu until we were paying the bill. It would have received 5 stars otherwise.More

We visited this venue for Sunday’s Valentines Day four course , no choice, set menu luncheon . We arrived at 12 noon as per our booking and was the second couple seated by the window. We enjoyed a glass each of French sparkling wine, and...ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio from King Valley. One hour and 10 minutes later after being seated we enquired about the meals as we noted that other tables who had arrived at least 30 minutes later than us had already received the welcoming dish and their entree. We were told by a turbaned gentleman that there had been a computer malfunction between their ordering station and the kitchen. However, it didn’t seem to impact anyone else except our table and the menu was set so why was there a need to tell the kitchen anything, other than we had arrived? We did notice additional staff arriving after all guests had been seated and serving commenced. The service did improve but because of time constraints we had to forego the desert fourth course and settle the account. We did notice two other couples also left before finishing all their courses. There was nothing wrong with our meals, when they arrived, and the beef in particular was very good. With a little better organisation and table service monitoring, as the wait staff must have noticed that we had not received anything to eat whilst delivering meals to other tables around us, this could have been a memorable visit. It was not! As it stands all we can say that it was a $300 cost disappointing experience which spoilt a special day. We will not be returning to Waters Edge.More

My partner and I, visited Waters Edge for a Valentine's day dinner, and since walking through the door till the time we left, we had the most kindest and friendly staff serve us. The food was delicious. Very small, fashionable serves, but severely let down by the wait staff. Of our table of six pax and four courses, I don't think one meal was put in front of the right person. We weren't offered a drink on arrival...and eventually had to ask the staff, and only those of us who asked received a drink. None were offered to the others. A bottle of wine was requested by the three gents at the table, and their glasses were never refilled, nor was a second bottle offered. When a second bottle was requested, it never came. There were too many staff at our table sometimes four, and they were poorly organised. This restaurant used to have the best staff of any restaurant, who silently appeared and disappeared and seemed to anticipate your every wish. This team needs to learns those skills to make this a memorable visit.More

Had the wonderful 3 course dinner on a Friday night. Great service and wonderful food; highlight was the kangaroo entree. Nice touches such as the palate cleanser between main course and dessert. Extensive wine list. Will be back.

We had our anniversary lunch at Water’s edge today. What an outstanding quality service, excellent scrumptious dishes and beautiful view facing Mt Ainslie lookout. I took 10 friends and family to Waters Edge to celebrate another milestone in my life and we all agreed that it was the best dining experience we had had in Canberra in many years. The Waters Edge staff were very attentive to our needs,...especially to my 8 and 11 year old grandchildren, who especially enjoyed their first fine dining experience and being given a choice for the 3 courses on offer. I can highly recommend Waters Edge and I know my friends and I will be back.More
