I wanted a fine dining experience with some great friends for my 50th birthday celebration, and 'The Boat House' did not disappoint. On arrival, we were met by our host, Genevieve, who attended to everything we needed throughout the evening. Nothing was too much trouble....The sommelier kindly came to the table to discuss the most appropriate wines for the various courses; the wines were amazing. The food and service were first class. Our waiter served some foie gras truffles mid-course, and these were amazing. We were all served with some profiteroles filled with Earl Grey cream as a birthday celebration, which was a lovely touch. Finally, the price was very reasonable, given the quality of food, wine, and service—a truly memorable occasion. I'd highly recommend this restaurant, and we will be back!More

Mother’s Day lunch today with a set menu. It was so beautiful the service was second to none mostly served by Mark and the other staff were all wonderful. Every aspect of our autumn lunch at The Boat House, Canberra was perfect. Anyone who enjoys an oyster must sample the Merimbula oysters - sensational. The maple glazed butternut pork belly, the Humpty Doo barramundi and the crown chicken with veg were all flavoursome and...delectable. The staff assisted with wine pairing and did a super job. The courses came out without any rushing and were perfectly paced. From beginning to end the staff were exceptional. They were attentive, observant and ever smiling. What a quality team!More

Unbelievable food, simply amazing. Looked after by Emma who was brilliant and also Damien who was wonderful and both so professional and knowledgeable about either the food or wine menu. Could not recommend the Boathouse more, a wonderful experience.

Pleasant ambiance, delightful helpful server. Food on two course lunch read well - for appetiser course my daughter chose agnolotti and I enjoyed the kingfish. We both ordered pork loin to find that second course was in fact a pork chop with any trace of...loin removed. Chop was covered in a very spicy ‘spread’ which detracted totally from what should have been the delicate flavour of the pork. We drew our concern and disappointment to the attention of our server who was sincere in her apology. Rather than taking any other main course we elected to each take the same appetiser. We were surprised to see that no accommodation had been made on the price of the meal where the main course had clearly been totally mis communicated and a cheaper substitute used. First time at the Boat House. Had a long Friday family lunch at the Boathouse. We all had the three course set menu, all of us enjoyed our meals . Cater for dietary requirements with care and flexibility. The setting was beautiful , the spacing...of the tables added to the fine dining experience. Service was friendly and professional. Great fine dining value at $80 for three courses. Great wine by the glass choices enables you to taste various local wines. Went here for dinner the other night and had the degustation menu, which had four courses of beautifully crafted food. The stand-outs from my perspective was the Jerusalem artichoke and the mandarin sorbet. My wife fell for the Roughy and the mandarin sorbet. Wine is...spectacularly comprehensive and spectacularly expensive.More

Being one of the pricier restaurants I was expecting a lot, and the Boat House delivered. Service was great, food was very impressive and the restaurant itself has a classic ambience and setting. Excellent food. We were all very impressed by the different meals we ordered but a special mention goes to the kingfish entree! A superb balance of flavors with a to die for miso sauce! Excellent food, beautifully presented and delicious. The manners of all the staff were impeccable from opening the door on arrival, to leaving at the end of the meal. The options for non-alcoholic drinks were good, more than the basic coke and lemonade options so often...offered in most other establishments. The drinks were presented as thoughtfully as their alcoholic counterparts. Milly, our server was extremely knowledgeable about our choices, and she explained in detail the ingredients in each dish. The ambiance was perfect with spacious seating and barely audible back ground music. We will most certainly return.More
