Went a few weeks ago and pork knuckle was great, but I was very disappointed with the butterscotch schnapps affogato dessert I paid $15 for. After waiting more than half an hour, I went to ask the kitchen where it was because everyone was waiting to leave. They brought it out and all I got was 2 small scoops of vanilla ice-cream and a shot of schnapps on the side. I feel like I should have just ordered the schnapps.

The 3 of us had the ultimate German feast for 2 to 3 people with 2 sides. The highlight was the pork knuckle but the feast also included many other menu items that were equally delicious. The price included 2 beers that helped wash down the copious quantity of food. As a good pommy my wife had a gin and tonic. Fortunately we had skipped lunch and were able to eat everything. The service was very good and the club has a unique and friendly ambience. We will definitely go again as I want to try the rouladen.

The restaurant was extremely busy, but we were seated with minimum of fuss and generous spacing between tables to make conversation at our table easy. The menus offered a great variety of choices - not all German in heritage. Ordering is at the front of the restaurant, but the meals were delivered promptly - especially considering how busy it was - and the portion sizes were very generous. Each of the meals at our table were delicious. The wait staff were friendly and efficient making the experience all the more enjoyable.

While booking a Fri dinner table for 7ppl via a phone Tue before I was asked if we want their pork knuckles. I answered maybe a couple but most of us are coming for your fried cheese dish. On arrival we find that all of the knuckle dishes have to be booked ahead, that they do not make the cheese shnitzel any more but it stays listed in their online menu. And how come a German club does not have a normal lager beer on tap Fri night?

NYE dinner was meant to be a memorable event, but this one was not for good reasons. Knuckles as promoted as a great restaurant on the Club website, but is nothing more than a bistro. Even the $10 booking fee misleads you that it must be so popular but on NYE it was only 1/2 full. Queuing to order our $74 dinner at he cash register, being served meals with missing ingredients and no explanation. Being glared at for asking for a 2nd set of cutlery for our mains which was the unceremoniously dumped on the table ........ I could go on. Do not try your luck.

We found the Harmonie German Club only because the receptionist at our hotel recommended it to us. It was only 300 metres or so up the road from where we were staying but set back on the service road. We settled for dining downstairs in the bar area, rather than going up to the restaurant. The schnitzels which were on offer looked to be good value so we both opted for the chicken schnitzels with garden salad and mushroom sauce. When our meals arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the fresh appearance of them. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the mushroom sauce was beautiful. A really delightful meal. The atmosphere in the club was quite relaxed and low key.

I have a long happy association with the German Club. My father is an early member and I actually worked in this restaurant more than 30 years ago so I think of it fondly. I attend a regular function in the club so eat the restaurant food at least twice a year albeit as part of a function menu although always the German options. We had an enjoyable meal as a party of 5 with schnitzels and pork knuckles and all were eaten with gusto (although the fussy German cook reckons hers as better!) None the less, all were polished off! However, there was one serious fail. One of our party has a serious nut allergy. She always checks with food that might have nuts but German food (apart from cakes) is not known for its nuts and the meal chosen - pork belly, had no nut description on the menu. It however arrived liberally sprinkled with pistachios which is one of her high allergy nuts. In this modern day and age, menus MUST have nuts described on them. The staff apologised and recooked the meal (just scraping them off doesn't work) however I will be looking at the menu next time to see if this has been adjusted, its really important that this is fixed as this is a life and death issue.

The interior of this restaurant needs urgent refurbishment. Much it is faded and marked. We were there on a warm, not hot, night. The interior was stifling and very unpleasantly hot. Thank goodness it wasn’t a hot night. The menus presented were dirty and in poor condition, which should never happen, let alone with Covid-19 being ever present. We were keen to have a try of their schnitzels which are listed on the menu under‘Schnitzel Heaven’. Between us we had a combination of different ones. The veal ones were not really veal and were quite tough. The chicken ones were also tough, which is quite hard to do with chicken. Definitely not from ‘heaven’. The accompanying chips were soft on the inside, but unfortunately, also soft on the outside. For desert some apple strudels were ordered. After thirty minutes we inquired if they had been forgotten. We were told no, but they finally arrived another fifteen minutes later. The noise level was extremely high and it was very difficult to hear what someone on the other side of the table was saying. The only redeeming feature was the very obliging, professional and friendly staff. Overal , we would suggest avoiding this restaurant.

Food was cold, over cooked and overpriced. Long wait (was told which was appreciated) had to prompt for table water, not sure what we got what we ordered as it all looked the same. No care or attention to food, service, presentation or quality, won’t return.

What a weird experience! This restaurant is located in an unusual place, there isn’t much around the area, which probably makes it popular because it’s the only choice. Because there was a group of us they limited the menu, perhaps too much. We were given tables downstairs, which is fine because they were near a bar. We went upstairs to order. Upstairs is more authentic looking, downstairs is bland and the decor is boring. The food was uninspiring, very average, and I will not be returning for it any time soon. However, the schnapps shots rocked. The customer service was incredibly good.

V different menu from other clubs which was good to see although I opted for my favourite dish anyway - salmon was beautifully cooked and I’m ver fussy 🤣 my daughter said her pizza was better than other club pizzas. Generous size servings. Friendly staff and great service. Will be back.

Came here for an event but also got dinner. The food was amazing and totally unexpected! They also offered a bunch of different German and Australian food, which was great and the beer was also good-made me miss my time back in Germany. The layout was also impressive, with different sections and a mixture between modern and European style....I liked it!

The ordering system is very archaic, we watched people waiting in line for ages. Not great when your told you only have a short time at your table. The food was not too bad, but the 1 and a half hour sitting was a too quick especially when it took over 20 minutes to wait for dessert, after we had QR code the order. We had talked about having a few drinks after dinner, but after we were asked to leave we decided against it.

The German Club is a warm, friendly and vibrant joint. It actually has a vaguely beer hall feel to it. Workers, social groups and travellers were all enjoying a variety of beers (lagers) and hearty tutonic comfort food. Sausages, kasler and pork knuckle are all very popular. There is less choice in the wine department. My Reisling smelled like kerosene '_("•)_/'

Food is tasty, great traditional menu but we found the pork knuckle difficult to eat with flimsy cutlery. Extremely busy. Booking is a must and service slow given wait times. Schweppes soft drinks (flat).
