It's fairly compact, nice welcoming feel once you're inside. They don't have lots of beers on tap, but the selection they do have is pretty decent while promoting a few local breweries, and also have cans and bottles in the fridge. The food looked good...too. I arrived at 7:30pm Saturday and all tables were already booked out or blocked out due to social distancing. I didn't know I could pre-book, so I had to sit outside in the middle of winter with no heaters. There were only a few brave people also drinking outside, I only had a few beers before I couldn't stand the cold anymore and I left to try my luck in Civic, so be mindful of that. If you're inside though, it's quite warm.More
This place wasn’t busy when we visited yet we waited 20 minutes just for drinks. Lucky the food was a bit faster! The parmi was really good but not a fan of the vinegar on the chips.
Hands down best Parmi I’ve had!! The service is great and I like the atmosphere of the bar. <3 <3 <3
The Durham is something of an inner south institution for its relaxed casual atmosphere, reasonably prices and friendly service. The great news is that it has reopened, albeit with the required restrictions about numbers of patrons. The beer is cold and plentiful, all of the...usual wines are in stock and the kitchen is now serving takeaway meals as well as sit down. You can even buy takeaway beer in 2 litre refillable bottles! During the shutdown the place has received a bit of a facelift - and even with winter coming on it is to be hoped that the outdoor drinking and dining area will reopen soon.More
A big shout out to the great staff and chilled manager and the selections of beers too. Thank you for another great steak and Guinness night for me and my peeps. Long may ye reign!! (and keep serving out that good food. and Guinness. and...craft beers)More
I had a duck confit which was just delicious, it had lots of fresh spring veggies and was not your typical pub meal. My hubby had a vegetarian Indian style paneer, he loved it and the garlic bread was the best either of us have...ever had. To top off the great food, the service provided by the guy behind the bar was excellent. He was friendly and was also aware of when we finished our drinks and was over offering more drinks and bringing them to the table. We will definitely be back again.More
A wonderful meal and great environment. Definitely worth the visit. Friendly staff and chefs know how to cook
We bookeddfor 7pm but they were very happy to accomodate our changed time. There were quite a few people already in the Bar and the dining area. You have to order at the bar and when the bar is busy that can be quite slow....We got drinks and the waitress came for our order and we made the mistake of asking for another 5 minutes but of course she came back quite a lot more than 5 minutes later. 2 of our party were watching the kitchen area due to where we were sitting and after a while saw some plates appear with meals on them and the Chef rang a bell. No one came to deliver them to anyone in the restaurant so after a while I went to the Bar to tell the Bar staff meals were going cold. I got a Kurt "I am just going" then when they did eventually go to the service window we discovered they were our meals sitting there. Luckily while they were no doubt colder than when originally placed they were still ok. The Chicken Parmigiana was very good and very big plus the Chicken pieces were very good. Reasonable pricing and filling meals off a reasonably extensive menuMore
We love coming here for the Wednesday $10 burger specials plus there's usually some other special for most days of the week. Be aware that Tuesday is Trivia Night so best to reserve a table. Friendly atmosphere and efficient service. Nice outdoor area too. Will...definitely be returning.More
