We ordered gado gado, crispy chicken and mee goreng. Came out very quickly which made me wonder if they were already pre-made and heated up. Mee Goreng lacked flavour, the gado 2 had bottle satay sauce on top and the crispy chicken dish was underwhelming....Not very authentic in my opinion. Not going back anytime soon.More

Overpriced and underwhelming.

Overpriced and underwhelming. Taste of the Assum King Prawn dish was not quite up to scratch, and the calamari, expensive at $18 for a starter size, was downright boring.

Brilliant Malaysian Food

Dropped in without a reservation and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. Great location in the Manuka restaurant strip. We enjoyed a range of starters that were a match for anything I’ve had in KL and the beef rendang was perfect. Would...definitely recommend.More

Always a dinner stop.

Just the best Asian eating restaurant in Manuka ACT. Great food always, not overpriced and delicious, my go to on a visit to Canberra.

Absolutely delicious

Chance Visit

An excellent dinner on a table outside the restaurant. My gluten free meal was perfect, spicy and well cooked. The service was really good too. A really good choice

Good Value Malay Food

Very good Malay food at a reasonable price. Comprehensive menu with fast, friendly service. I ordered prawn wonton soup which was delicious followed by Mongolian beef also very good.

Delicious Malaysian food - had a Gluten free feast!

I had Dinner at Abell's Kopi Tiam for the first time and will make sure to return next time I am in Canberra! I wish we had such a great Malaysian Restaurant with so many Gluten free choices in Sydney. Restaurant is very popular and...a small venue so a reservation is highly recommended. Team is very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable with regards to special dietary requirements. I had the Mushroom & Tofu Soup and Bali Chicken - both dishes were delicious and did agree perfectly with me. Can highly recommend this restaurant!More

Authentic Nonya Malaysian

We go to Abell's every time we visit Canberra. The restaurant isn't large, so can feel a little cramped and noisy, but the service is friendly and efficient and the food is a standout.

Delicious

After a long day of sightseeing we were looking forward to a nice meal and a few drinks. Luckily we found this gem. We were seated outside under a heater which kept us warm on a chilly Canberra night. The food was absolutely delicious. We...especially loved the Beef Rendang and the Battered Ling Fillets. The Tiger Beer was pretty good too. It’s not the cheapest Malaysian around but the servings are of a good size and the atmosphere is good. Friendly and helpful staff too.More

Absolutely delicious, so much gluten free dishes (and was really gluten free), staff wonderfull, we felt like a local. Def recommend this place and we will come back.

Brilliant!

Had the pleasure of dining here on Friday 27 Nov. I'm coeliac which wasn't a problem at all as there is plenty of choices. Really enjoyed the duck rice rolls aswell as laksa. Great service,great food,great selection of drinks. Just great.
