Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Delicious pizza and salad - when it finally arrived. Maybe this place is fine if you have a lot of time and don’t mind waiting 30mins to get drinks delivered, after being told twice that the bottle of wine you’d ordered was not available, or...if you like having pizzas arrive one at a time with a gap of 10 mins and no plates or forks (or serviettes even). If you end a meal contented that you’ve eaten everything with your fingers and have nothing to wipe them on - then this place could be for you! But do not do as we did and imagine one hour is enough for getting a couple of pizzas to snack on and one round of drinks before a movie. It wasn’t busy but the place was seriously slow and sloppy about the service. Who brings out dinner without plates or forks?More

We popped in for dinner after the movies and were pleasantly surprised. It was busy but the staff were great. We had pizza and pasta and a couple of glasses of wine and thought the food quite tasty and the evening very enjoyable. We'll be...back.More

Dreadful service, food average at best. Thee are much better Italian restaurants in Canberra to choose from. Booked a table in advance for 3, given a table for 4 with a pram in the 4th spot, waited over 30 minutes to order. Could beside us...ordered twice in this time, the table beside them served, paid, cleared and re-laid in this time. Was it worth the wait and the lack of care in the staff? No. The food was OK but not exceptional. We went there in May 2023 and thought the poor service and poor food (2 of the 5 dishes ordered did not have a core ingredient) was just bad luck. Obviously not.More

Last Monday night, I had a fantastic time catching up with my girlfriends over dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the restaurant was busy, even on a Monday night. However, we did notice that the temperature inside was a bit chilly. Despite that,...we all enjoyed our meals, the portions were on the okay side. The pizza was delicious and, as an Accor Plus member, I found it to be a great value for my money. The service was also very good, but unfortunately, the Fettuccini Carbonara dish that one of my friends ordered was served cold. Despite that slight hiccup, we all had a wonderful experience and would definitely consider returning in the future.More

Everything was a winner. Service first; spectacular. Friendly, fun, helpful & knowledgeable. Bruschetta. Wow, didn’t expect this, as good as I’ll Cantuccio when Mario & Lorie had their superb Lygon St restaurant. The main, a fantastic pan fried gnocchi; very filling but delightful. The other...meal being a fantastic chicken & mushroom risotto. Must have been good, plate was clean! Would have loved to try their pizza, must be good lots of take aways. In Canberra, near Peppers Gallery; one bit to be missed. EnjoyMore

The food is good and service good. However it is not possible to pay without incurring a surcharge. In fact the surcharge is listed on the bill as an item. Signs warn of payment only being by card which is fine. That does not mean...the restaurant should automatically charge a surcharge for all payments.More

Wait staff were friendly and efficient but the food was terrible. Entrees we’re okay but mains were terrible. Very disappointing that the kitchen is letting down a great venue.

Unfortunate service encouraged this low rating. Food was fresh and light. However after many attempts to wave a waiter over we left after the mains. It will be a long time before we go back again. Good food ruined by poor service.

We were a walk in for dinner on a Monday night after going to the movies nearby, but I had read some reviews about the place and was looking forward to the meal. We were very disappointed and I wish we had chosen to go...elsewhere. We shared an entree between two of us (arancini balls). They were fairly good. However when the waitress came to clear our plates she told us to "keep our cutlery", and we could also “keep our plates for the next course if we wanted”. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant that expected me to re-use dirty cutlery and plates for my next dish. We refused and asked for clean plates and cutlery. My companion had the wild boar ragu ($32), I had the lamb cutlet special ($38). We also ordered an Insalata Caprese. All were fairly bland. I asked for salt and pepper (having seen some salt and pepper shakers on a couple of other tables). We were given salt and pepper in little takeaway packages because "all of their salt and pepper shakers were currently being used". We looked around and saw two two tables with them. I cannot believe that a restaurant only has two sets for the entire restaurant. I had also ordered a glass of Taittinger champagne - it did not taste like french champagne to me (and I drink it reasonably regularly), and I did question the waiter about it asking if he was sure that this was the Taittinger, but was adamantly told that "he had just opened a new bottle personally". But when he came to clear my empty glass - he asked me "if I was done with the Prosecco".... We didn't finish our meals as they really weren't enjoyable, and we left to go somewhere else. I was disappointed at this as I had read decent reviews about the place. Maybe they have a different chef on board on a Monday night. But I can't excuse being told to reuse my cutlery and plate - that's just gross. I would not recommend this restaurant, nor would I ever eat there again.More

We are from West Australia, visiting Canberra we dined at Bicicletta as we had a great meal there 2 years ago, when we were in Canberra. This dining experience didn't disappoint. The service was great, prompt, polite and efficient. The meals were amazing, not only...reasonable size serves, but extremely tasty, a real delight. A memorable dining experience, we will return.More

We loved Bicicletta in visits before Covid. But something has changed. The atmosphere still lovely, but the menu not quite as exciting, and whilst the food was reasonable -good, it was not exeptional as it used to be. Service a bit off - our mains...were brought out BEFORE our entrees were served, so the mains were put under heat lamps to keep warm (which unfortunately also dired them out a bit.) The staff seemed to forget us after mains - no-one offering dessert of coffee - we had to get up and ask some-one. There was even a suggestion that we might not be able to have coffee because the machine was turned off... thankfully that was overturned.More

Popped into this place randomly while staying at hotel nearby. It wasn’t really signed as far as I could see, but I’m glad I came across it. I think it was the manager who welcomed me and found a spare table on a busy night...in the bar area. It was great. I had beer, lasagna and apple cake. All was really tasty. The staff were attentive at all times despite being busy. I would definitely recommend, and may well returnMore

The menu looked great so we were looking forward to eating here. First of all the place. Designed (successfully) for maximum noise (all that horrid subway tile and hard floor) and with all the large tables around the walls and all the tables for two...in the middle of the room - so wrong! Horrible loud thumping music, totally unsuitable for relaxing restaurant dining I realise its hard to get staff these days but if you're going to hire children then please, for their sake as well as ours, please give them some training so they can actually pronounce the names of the dishes they're serving and can remember the one special on the menu! The wine list is very limited The food: the starter was fine, but the spicy crab linguini had no spice, and the orrecchiette with broccoli and pork and fennel sausage seemed to have cream (not mentioned) but no broccoli. It was under-seasoned; when i asked for salt and pepper both were empty. We didn't stay for dessert - couldn't stand the noise any longer We really wanted to like this place - it could be so much better than it isMore
