Hubby and I met a friend here for lunch recently. We loved walking thru the gallery to get to the cafe, and checking out the artworks in the garden. It was fairly busy at lunchtime, but not crowded. It took quite some time to get any service, and took what seemed like ages to get our meals. Our friend had... More

Thanks for your review, and we value customer feedback. Our chef remembers you as the lovely group on the 4th of April where she commented on your friend Michele's fabulous haircut. I'm pleased we were able to meet your time requirements, and we are always happy to prioritise orders (or even recommend different options) if customers are in a hurry,... More

Small café, well attended, quick service. Fresh food - interesting combinations of flavours well presented.

We just love coming to the Palette Cafe for brunch and lunch and have given it rave reviews before. On our last visit, I ordered for the first time the fig, roasted beetroot, orange and blue cheese salad and it was totally delicious! (The seafood pie is highly recommended too!)

The fig, roasted beetroot, orange, and blue cheese salad is a new dish, so we're delighted to have some positive feedback. Keep an eye on our social media for photos of that one soon. Thanks for the lovely review, and we look forward to seeing you back at the cafe again soon. More

Loved everything about the brunch we had! Great coffee, quick and friendly service and an amazing chef. The Rosti, poached eggs, salmon and balsamic tomatoes were to die for. It tasted as good as it looked! The rest of the menu also looked amazing.....next time we'll be back for lunch!!

This pleasant intimate cafe in the Beaver Galleries continues to attract a strong following, especially amongst locals. The menu is interesting and varied, as is the wine list - although we thought the glasses were a bit over-priced. Having lunched here several times over the past few years, we were pleased to find that the quality of food has been... More

Excellent food and service. The menu was amazing with so many options- all of which looked yummy! The lamb was delicious and the wine selection was good too. Vegetarian and gluten free options were tempting and the bread and butter pudding was divine. I think "cafe" should be renamed restaurant!

Thanks for your lovely review, and we're very proud of the chef's extensive menu. The secret with the bread and butter puddings is that they're made with croissants (shhh ... don't tell anyone). We hope to see you back at the café again soon. More

This gem of a cafe is tucked away in Beaver Galleries. I have been coming here on a regular basis for many years and love the food and ambience. My friend had the Fig, roasted beetroot, orange and blue cheese salad which looked stunning and was delicious. My dish was Spiced avocado, gazpacho dressing and smoked salmon and was fresh... More

I tried the Palette in desperation after finding perhaps better known places nearby packed out with slow customers receiving slower service, and queues to be seated. I found the place empty, ordered a snack then, realising how hungry I was, enquired after the wait for a sit-down meal. They told me ten minutes, and made good on the promise. I... More

We're so glad you gave us a try. Although we're not famous for speed (everything is prepared fresh on-site from scratch), we can help if customers are in a hurry. The fish and chips is a great choice. If you're interested in the weekend brunch menu, anything with our wonderful bacon is a plus (that's me being biased), and you... More

We had planned for the Gallery visit but were uncommitted for lunch but one look at the menu and plates as served convinced us to stay and we were glad we did. All three of us were more than satisfied with the quality of our lunch and the lightly grilled prawns on a warm bean and potato salad could be... More

Thanks for such a lovely and thoughtful review. We're delighted you found us (we're a bit of a hidden gem). The prawn salad is certainly of the stars of the new 2017 menu, and Julie is a long-term star. We look forward to seeing you again when you next visit Canberra. More
