Meet my old IBA/ATSIC workmates for lunch and we picked a dish each of the menu. What delicious dishes. We all enjoyed what we picked very tasty and plentiful and the price was very resonable

We went here for my birthday lunch as I like the food at Spicy Ginger 🌶. We had the Eggplant 🍆 hotpot which was lovely and also the Goan Chicken 🍗 which was very tasty too. The portions were big so we had to take...some home for later. It wasn’t very busy so it was very relaxing. You can find pay parking out the front if your lucky. All in all a lovely birthday lunch and spicy ginger again provides a great meal.More

Come here regularly before concerts at ANU. Usually have some combination of mapo tofu, eggplant hot pot, choy sum with garlic, hot and sour soup, and shallot pancakes. Always excellent. Good service too.

The restaurant was busy, and is located on the fringe of the Australian National University. With many Asian students the restaurants in that area are generally quite good. Indeed, on the night we were there there were many Asian clients. This is normally good news,...because it means that the restaurant it turning out traditional food. However, on this occasion this rule of thumb let us down: our dishes were insipid and bland, which left us disappointed. The best dish had prawns with Szechuan pepper, and they were tasty, but the plate was crowded with filler vegetables, in this case lots of capsicum. This is usually a bad sign that the establishment is padding out its dishes to make them look bigger. On the other hand our next dish had no fillers, just the described pork with Peking sauce. The dish also came with thin pancakes a la Peking Duck, which we thought was different and interesting. So far so good, but in the end we were again disappointed, because the pork was bland, with barely a hint of spice or distinctive taste of any kind. The worst dish was Singapore noodles. I know Singapore well, having visited there more than 50 times over the decades. I love Singapore noodles, and they are a staple dish on my visits. This one was not even a pale imitation of the original. It was bland, there was barely any chicken or prawns in it, and worst of all it had the unmistakable smell and taste of Keen's Curry Powder. Need I say more. I dislike marking restaurants down, they operate in a tough market, and perhaps we just chose the wrong dishes, so I won't be too savage, but the overall experience was so disappointing that I can do no better than mark it as average.More

Five of us had been to Politics in the Pub at ANU listening to four Parliament House journalists wrapping up the year in politics. We needed a restaurant nearby to mull over what we had heard and made a good choice to eat at Spicy...Ginger. We chose 5 dishes to share. They were all well cooked with good fresh ingredients and we enjoyed them very much. I found the flavours bland for my palate but still enjoyed this meal. My pick would be the aubergine dish and the satay chicken although more peanut flavour would have been good. The portions were large and four dishes would have been adequate.More

Have been to this restaurant numerous times. We love their spicy Sichuan flavours. Service is not all that fabulous but the taste of the food is great. It is a good average priced restaurant.

Big group so we tried lots of dishes. Xiao long bao was great but that was about the best it got. Most dishes lacked flavour. Even the simple green veg with oyster sauce was lacking oytrer sauce and just tasted like plain boiled veg. Everything...cooked well, they just need to work on getting flavour into the food.More

Ended up here when someone forgot to book where we were meant to go and we were not disappointed. Dumplings were great, eggplant hotpot was delish and they had my favourite lychee cider, yummo

Food was very good and the wait staff were friendly and attentative. Unfortunately, the overall experience was let down by a near 40 minute wait on our order. There were several large tables that were served before us even though we were only a table...of two. We had to push for our order to be hurried up and the wait staff apologies repeatedly. I would return but not on a weekend.More

We came here based on previous reviews for yum cha. We also thought from information online that it was eat all you want. Not true! You order the yum cha off a very limited menu with very expensive prices. The deep fried calamari consisted of...about 8 small pieces in heavy batter for $7.80. We paid over $60 for two people and left disappointed and hungry.More
